Read all instructions before using
this appliance.
When using electrical appliances,
basic precautions should always
be followed to reduce the risk of
re, electrical shock and injury to
persons, including the following:
1. If the appliance is damaged,
check with the supplier before
installation and operation.
2. Do not use outdoors.
3. Do not use in the immediate
surroundings of a bath, shower
or swimming pool.
4. Do not locate the appliance
immediately below a xed
socket outlet or connection
box.
5. This appliance can be used
by children aged form 8 years
and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervi-
sion or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the haz-
ards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance.

nance shall not be made by

9. Ensure that furniture, curtains
or other combustible material
are positioned no closer than 1
metre from the appliance.
10. In the event of a fault unplug
the appliance.
11. Unplug the appliance when not
required for long periods.
12. Although this appliance com-
plies with safety standards, we
do not recommend its use on
deep pile carpets or on long
hair type of rugs.
13. The appliance must be po-
sitioned so that the plug is
accessible.
14. If the supply cord is damaged
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or service agent
or a similarly qualied person
in order to avoid a hazard.
15. Keep the supply cord away
from the front of the appliance.
WARNING: In order to avoid
overheating, do not cover the
appliance. Do not place material
or garments on the appliance, or
obstruct the air circulation around
the appliance, for instance by
curtains or furniture, as this could
cause overheating and a re risk.
WARNING: In order to avoid a
hazard due to inadvertent reset-
ting of the thermal cut-out, this
appliance must not be supplied
through an external switching
device, such as a timer, or con-
nected to a circuit that is regularly
switched on and off by the utility.
CAUTION: Some parts of this
product can become very hot and
cause burns. Particular attention
has to be given where children
and vulnerable people are pres-
ent.

indicating that it must not be covered

Site Selection and Preparation
This section provides instructions
for selecting a location and
preparing the site to install the
replace into your Dimplex mantel
surround.
1. Select a suitable location that
is not susceptible to moisture
and is away from drapes,
furniture and high trafc.
2. For ease of electrical hook
up you may wish to locate
the replace near an existing
outlet (refer to NOTE 1).
3. Store the replace in a safe,
dry and dust free location.
CAUTION: Clearance for air
circulation beneath the replace
is provided by two spacers. DO
NOT INSTALL FIREPLACE
DIRECTLY ON CARPET
OR SIMILAR SURFACES
WHICH MAY RESTRICT AIR
CIRCULATION. If installing the
replace in a carpeted area, place
a one-piece, solid at surface
under the replace. Ensure
that all feet rest securely on this
surface.
!NOTE: The dimensions of the
replace are 667 mm wide X 575
mm high X 222 mm deep. The
replace does not require any
additional venting. With trim, the
dimensions are 695 mm wide X
596 mm high X 222 mm deep.

WARNING: Ensure the power
cord is not installed so that it
is pinched or against a sharp
edge and ensure that the pow-
er cord is stored or secured to
avoid tripping or snagging to
reduce the risk of re, electric
shock or injury to persons.
Construction and electrical
outlet wiring must comply
with local building codes and
other applicable regulations to
reduce the risk of re, electric
shock and injury to persons.
Do not attempt to wire your
own new outlets or circuits. To
reduce the risk of re, electric
shock or injury to persons,

always use a licensed electri-
cian.
Install the replace assembly into
the mantel (refer to mantel as-
sembly instructions).
!NOTE: A 10 Amp, 240 Volt
circuit is required. A dedicated
circuit is preferred but not es-
sential in all cases. A dedi-
cated circuit will be required
if after installation the circuit
breaker trips or fuse blows
on a regular basis when the
heater is operating. Additional
appliances on the same circuit
may exceed the current rating
of the circuit breaker.
!IMPORTANT: If not using a
Dimplex mantel, the replace
must be installed in an enclo-
sure with the following MINI-
MUM dimensions(Figure 3).
New Wall Construction
1. Select a suitable location that
is not susceptible to moisture
and is away from drapes,
furniture and high trafc.
2. Place the replace in the
desired location to see how it
will look in the room.
3. Mark the desired location on
the oor.

4. Use studs to frame an open-
ing of 680 mm wide X 585
mm high X 229 mm deep.
Option #1
The power cord can be run from
behind the trim and along the wall
to an outlet near the replace.
Option #2
A new outlet can be installed
inside the framing construc-
tion. Plug the replace into a 10
Amp/240 Volt outlet. If the cord
does not reach you may use a
3-core type extension cord rated
for a minimum of 10 Amps.
Existing Fireplace:
1. Seal all drafts and vents with
a non-brous insulation mate-
rial to prevent any chimney
debris from falling onto the
replace. Do not install into
an existing replace that is
prone to dampness.
2. Cap the top of the chimney
ue to prevent rain from
entering.
3. Plan your electric power sup-
ply.
4. The power cord can run along
the front of the hearth to an
outlet near the replace.
CAUTION: Clearance for
air circulation beneath the
replace insert is provided by
two spacers. Do not install
the replace insert directly
on carpet or similar sur-
faces which may restrict air
circulation. If installing the
replace in a carpeted area,
place a one-piece, solid, at
surface under the replace
insert. Ensure that all three of
the insert’s feet rest securely
on this surface.

Operation
Manual Control
The manual controls for the
replace are behind the access
panel located at the bottom of the
replace (Figure 4).
A. Flame Action Control
Turn the ame action control knob
to adjust the ame speed to the
desired level.
B. Interior Light Control
Turn the interior light control
knob to increase or decrease the
brightness of the interior light.
C. Level 1 Heat
Provides heat output from one
element.
D. Level 2 Heat
Provides heat output from both
elements.
!NOTE: This switch must be in
the ON (I) position for heater to
operate with or without heat.
E. Heater Thermostat Control
To adjust the temperature to your
individual requirements, turn the
thermostat control clockwise all
the way to turn on the heater.
When the room reaches the
desired temperature, turn the
thermostat knob counter clock-
wise until you hear a click. Leave
in this position to maintain the
room temperature at its setting.
For additional heat, turn clockwise
until you hear the click again and
the heater will turn on. To turn the
heater off, rotate the knob fully
counter clockwise.
F. Main Three Position Switch
The switch has two ON positions
marked with and “I”. The “I“
position is for manual operation.
In this position the built-in remote
control is by-passed.
The position is for operating
the unit with the provided remote
control.
When in position, the unit is
operated with the ON and OFF
buttons of the remote control.

position the unit is off.
Resetting the Temperature Cut-
off Switch
This unit is equipped with a ther-
mostat which controls the tem-
perature of the room by turning
the heater on and off. The heater
is protected with a safety device
to prevent overheating. Should
the heater overheat, an automatic
cut out will turn the heater off and
it will not come back on without
being reset. It can be reset by
switching the Main Switch to "O"
and waiting 5 minutes before
switching the unit back on.
CAUTION: If you need to con-
tinuously reset the heater, unplug
the unit and call customer service.
Please have your model and se-
rial number ready when calling.
!NOTE: The heater may emit
a slight, harmless odor when rst
used. This odor is a normal con-
dition caused by initial heating of
internal heater parts and will not
occur again.
Remote Control (Figure 5)
The replace is supplied with an
integrated on/off remote control.
Where the maximum rage of use
is ~5m.
WARNING: It takes time for
the receiver to respond to the
transimitter. Do not press the but-
tons more than once within two
seconds for correct operation.
!NOTE: Ensure that the re-
place 3 position switch is set to
the remote control setting (up
position).
To operate, push the ON button
to turn replace on, push the OFF
button to turn the replace off.
Battery Replacement
To replace the battery:
1. Slide battery cover open
on the back of the remote
control.
2. Install AAA batteries into the
remote control.
3. Replace the battery cover.
Discard leaky batteries. Dispose
