Octagon Arm Bracket Kit
These 3 kits are designed for a 1601 barrier gate operator (with or without 1473 board convenience open) or a 1603
auto spikes operator. It CANNOT be used with a 1602 operator. Provides a built in reversing edge and red/green LEDs
on a 14 ft 2-Piece octagon arm. When the arm is raised, LEDs turn GREEN, and turns RED when lowered and
remains RED in the down position. Arm will reverse if lowering and a obstruction is encountered. Note: DO NOT
operate arm without a normally functioning reverse edge installed.
Allow arm to protrude
about 1” past the end
of arm bracket. Make
sure arm cover fits
over arm.

Secure arm to coupler using self-tapping screws
through pre-drilled holes in arm.

Install LED/Reverse Edge

Slide LED/Reverse Edge on hanging track as shown.
Install End Cap
Push a screwdriver through the hole in cap to release
spring while pushing cap on. Keep pushing cap on
until a “CLICK” is heard which locks it in place.
Run Wire Harness
Choose which side of operator arm is mounted on and run harness accordingly as shown.
Use included wire restrainers and zip ties to secure wire harness to arm bracket after
making connections.

Note for Older Operators:
A 5/8” hole will have to be
drilled in the operator
cabinet approximately
where Knock-Out is
shown. Make sure 5/8”
hole is clear of all internal
components.
Tip: Liquid soap will help
reverse edge slide on easier.
Use top hole in arm bracket to secure wire guard.
IMPORTANT: Allow a loop in the
wire harness for rotating arm.

Older Arm Cover

Older arm cover will need to have the reverse edge
cut out of the existing cover. Only one side of the
cover will need to be cut out depending on which
side the arm is mounted on. Use this template as a
guide to remove material from the cover.
