Responsibility of the Manufacturer
Responsibility of the Manufacturer
Dräger only considers itself responsible for any effect on safety, reliability and performance of the
equipment if:
Assembly operations, extensions, re-adjustments, modifications or repairs are carried out by persons
authorized by Dräger, and
The electrical installation of the relevant room complies with national standards, and
The instrument is used in accordance with the instructions for use.
Upon request, Dräger may provide necessary circuit diagrams and other information to help qualified
technician to maintain and repair some parts, which Dräger may define as user serviceable.

Introduction
Intended Use
Vista 120 Gateway (hereafter called “Gateway”) is intended to receive physiological data collected by
patient monitors (hereafter called “monitors”), send the data to external systems (e.g. HIS) after the data
are converted to HL7 messages, and transmit the control information sent by external systems to
monitors.
Scope of Application
Gateway is applied to load ECG, RESP, NIBP, SpO2, PR, TEMP, IBP, CO, CO2, AG, BIS, VENT, and AM
data collected by the manufacturer’s monitors (e.g. Vista120, Vista120 S) to external systems in hospital.
NOTE
Please read this chapter carefully before you use the software and ask professionals authorized by the
manufacturer to connect and install Gateway.
NOTE
All the descriptions or pictures in this manual are based on Windows Server 2016 Standard 64 bit
system. Operation descriptions or pictures in other systems may differ from that in Windows Server 2016
Standard 64 bit.
NOTE
While a monitor measures real-time NIBP and at the same time, Gateway sends a periodic R01
message to external systems, the periodic R01 message sent by Gateway at the time does not have
NIBP data.

Vista 120 Gateway is responsible for the communication interaction of data between the manufacturer’s
monitors and external systems.
Safety Guidance
The following WARNING and CAUTION messages must be observed. To use the system safely and
effectively, please first read this manual and the implementation guide carefully.

WARNING
Gateway should be installed by professionals authorized by the manufacturer.
WARNING
Do not move the main unit, display or other parts of the device when they are electrified.
WARNING
Do not connect any accessory components except those specified to Gateway.
WARNING
Restart the monitor after you modify any item of network configuration on a monitor, or Gateway
may fail.
CAUTION
Keep the environment clean. Keep the system hardware far from corrosive medicine, dust area, high-
temperature and humid environment.
CAUTION
Check the hardware and software of the computer periodically on which Gateway’s running depends.
CAUTION
Check if the power cable is worn out or damaged before you use it. If the damage is evident, replace the
cable.
CAUTION
Ensure that the environment in which the system is operated is not subject to any source of strong
electromagnetic interference, such as radio transmitters, mobile telephones, etc.

Consult instructions for use
The symbol indicates that the device should be sent to the special agencies
according to local regulations for separate collection after its useful life.
Federal (U.S.) Law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.

Installation
Follow the steps below to install Gateway:
a) Double-click the Setup icon in the installation package.
b) Click Install on the pop-up window to install the base items required for Gateway installation.
c) Then the screen will display the following interface, continuing to install Gateway. Click Next.
NOTE
It is recommended to scan the Gateway installation package and installation environment by using the
antivirus software before installing Gateway to prevent virus infection.

d) Select a language type from the following drop-down box and click Next.
e) Optionally, enter the User Name and Organization and click Next.

f) Select the setup type.
If you select Complete, click Next.

If you select Custom, click Next, then the following interface pops up. Click Browse to change the
installation path if you need to install Gateway in another path rather than the default path.
Then click OK to continue.

g) Click Install to continue.
h) The default installation path for the gateway database files is shown as bellow. You may change this
if you need to, and then click Next.
NOTE
Do not use a root directory (for example: C:\) or the system disk for the database during installation. For
instance, you can install the database in the directory like E: Psql_Data.

i) Click Finish and the installation is done (After Gateway is installed, the notification center window pops
up. You can minimize it or close it after you have read the information so as to handle other issues
without interference. See Notification Center).
NOTE
If the Notification Center is closed, you cannot receive any prompt anymore.

j) After Gateway installation is done, synchronize the system time, and then restart Gateway.
Uninstallation
Follow the steps below to uninstall Gateway:
1) Choose Start >Control Panel >Programs;
2) Click Uninstall or change a program and select Vista 120 Gateway in the list;
3) Right-click Vista 120 Gateway and click Uninstall,you will see the following prompt box, click Yes in
the prompt box;
NOTE
The computer must be restarted after uninstallation.

4) The following prompt box pops up, click OK;
5) The following dialog box pops up. If you want upgrade the software version, select Yes, the
configuration files and database will be kept in the original file while Gateway software is uninstalled;
if you want to delete the software completely, Click No, the system will delete all the configuration files
and database of Gateway while Gateway software is uninstalled;
6) Restart the computer, and then Gateway uninstallation is done.
