Operating instructions Floor Boy
These operating instructions are intended for operating personnel.
1. Please make yourself familiar with the notes and recommendations of these operating
instructions before assembly, starting and maintenance of the machine.
2. By doing so, you will control the machine in a safe manner and enhance its performance.
Servicing and maintenance as per these operating instructions improve your safety and
maintain the machine’s value.
3. The manufacturer accepts no liability for personal injury and damage to property arising
from improper use of the machine!
1. Safety regulations
For your safety
Before starting the oor cleaning machine, it is imperative to read these operating instruc-
tions and keep them always ready at hand.
The oor cleaning machine must not be used by persons which are not instructed in its use
and expressly charged with its
operation.
Attention! The oor cleaning machine is not suited for the treatment of surfaces from which
dusts and liquids hazardous to health are being detached. Do not cross steps!
Caution!
Never cross electric lines. Danger of electric shock!
General
The operation of the oor cleaning machine is subject to the current national regulations.
Besides the operating instructions and the current and binding regulations concerning acci-
dent prevention in the country of use the approved technical rules for safe and professional
working also have to be adhered to. Any operation method which is critical in terms of safety
has to be refrained from. The use of the appliance on public ways and streets is not allowed.
Use of the machine in accordance with the regulations
• All oor cleaning machines are exclusively intended for the use in the internal area of
buildings.
• Any further use is not deemed in accordance with the regulations. The manufacturer will
not be liable for any damage arising from such use; the risk has to be borne exclusively
by the user.
• To use the machine in accordance with the regulations also means to observe the provisi-
ons concerning operation, maintenance and servicing specied by the manufacturer.
• The pertinent rules and regulations concerning accident prevention as well as all other
generally approved safety and working regulations have to be adhered to.
• Unauthorized modications of the machine exclude the liability of the manufacturer for
any resulting damage.
• Before using the machine, oor coverings have to be tested for their suitability for this
cleaning method!
• Mind the surface pressure with point-elastic oors, e.g. in gyms!
• The manufacturer is not liable for any damage to the appliance and the oor covering to
be cleaned if such damage results from the use of improper brushes and cleaning agents.

Product liability
It is expressly pointed out to the operator that the machines may only be used in accordance
with the regulations. The user will bear the sole responsibility if the appliances are not used
in accordance with the regulations. Thereby, any liability of the manufacturer is excluded.
Safety hazards
• At standstill of the machine the brush unit has to be shut o immediately to prevent the
oor covering from being damaged.
• For the transport in lifts the eective considerations for use and safety regulations - par-
ticularly in terms of load capacity - have to be adhered to.
Operating position
The operating position is behind the machine.
The recommended working time is less than 480 minutes.
Admitted maintenance personnel
The oor cleaning machine must not be maintained and serviced by persons which are not
professionally and legally legitimized.
Cleaning agents
• For the use of cleaning agents and care products it is required to observe the hazard indi-
cations of the manufacturer; wear safety goggles and protective clothing if appropriate.
• Use only low-foam, non-combustible cleaning agents containing no substances which are
generally hazardous to health.
It is expressly pointed to the risks of using substances which are highly inammable, com-
bustible, toxic, hazardous to health, caustic or irritating.
First starting
• The delivery, instruction on safety regulations, operation and maintenance as well as the
rst starting are eected as a rule by our authorized expert.
• If this should not be the case, the operating company will be responsible for the instructi-
on of the operators.
ATTENTION!
Never leave the machine standing on the polishing, cleaning or micro bre pad after use. The
pads will be squeezed by the one-sided weight of the machine, and smooth working can not
be realized anymore. The pad has to be replaced in that case.
Lifting the machine allows the pad and the driving disc plate to be separated easily from the
machine.

3. Accessories
Attention!
Press the control device for the cleaning agent for a short time only,
and make use of the product at once drop by drop.
Large quantities of liquid can inltrate the oor and lead to irreparable damage.
4. Where to use Floor Boy for cleaning and polishing
Hard oors and staircases, oiled or sealed wood, vinyl oors, linoleum, earthenware slabs,
clinkers, tiles, natural and cast stone, magnesite composition etc.
5. Cleaning
• Fill reservoir bottle with oor cleaning agent and water (dosage 1:10) and pull lock but-
ton upwards. Put the pad holder with the cleaning pad or the micro bre pad on the oor
and place the Dr. Schutz Floor Boy into it. Press the control device until the rst drops
from the reservoir bottle are on the oor, then turn on the appliance switch and make use
of the product immediately.
• After having nished work, press lock button on the lye bottle downwards. Separate the
Dr. Schutz Floor Boy from driving disc plate and pad to ensure that the machine never
keeps standing on the cleaning, polishing or micro bre pad.

6. Polishing
• Use polish product (e.g. Floor Mat/Gloss, H2oil etc.) for the surface, work it in with the
Dr. Schutz Floor Boy and a polishing pad and polish up.
• After having nished work, separate the Dr. Schutz Floor Boy from driving disc plate and
polishing pad to ensure that the machine never keeps standing on the polishing pad.
7. Service
• In the case of a repair please contact your specialized wholesale dealer or one of the
service stations.
• You will be served quickly and professionally.
• Attention! This machine is intended only for the use on
plain surfaces with a maximal gradient of up to 2%.
• Attention! The use of this machine on public ways and streets is not allowed.
8. Maintenance - it is imperative to observe the following notes
• For cleaning and maintenance of the machine, the replacement of parts, or switching to
another function the drive has to be shut o and the mains connection must be unplug-
ged.
• The mains lead must not be injured or damaged by either crossing, squeezing, straining
or anything similar.
• The mains lead has to be checked regularly for indications of damaging.
• The machine must not be used if the mains lead is not in a faultless condition.
• For the use or replacement of mains leads or cord sets the notes given by the manufac-
turer must be strictly observed.
• For the replacement of couplings of mains leads or cord sets splash protection and me-
chanical strength have to remain ensured.
• For transport in lifts the handle/pole of the machine is to be placed upright to prevent
it from getting stuck on the hoistway walls.
• Sprays and cleaning agents which are not suited for the intended purpose of the appli-
ance must not be used.
• Never use substances which are highly inammable, combustible, toxic, hazardous to
health, caustic or irritating.
• Corrective maintenance inclusive of the integration of spray leads and hoses may only
be carried out by approved after-sales service points or competent qualied personnel
being familiar with all relevant safety regulations.
