Powder coating is the advanced method we use
to apply a scratch-resistant color finish to our steel
mechanical tubing on all EZ Fold Basketball
Backstops. Black and white are standard, and other
colors are available at a minimal additional charge.
With nearly unlimited colors to choose from, you
can specify your school colors, or the color of your
choice to have the backstop match the gym decor.
Powder coating creates a smooth, durable, protective
finish. Minimizes touch-ups following product

Basketball Goals
A0576 Breakaway Goal with hardware and net: fits both 48˝and 42˝bank.
Official breakaway goal withstands shock loads due to a player slam dunking and/or hanging
on the rim. The rim deflects down when a load of 230 lbs. is applied and returns to the play-
ing position once the load is removed. Shock absorbing, release/return mechanism is concealed
within a fully protective cover. Rim is ⅝˝ diameter steel with 12 “no tie” net attachment clips
welded to the rim. Complete with mounting hardware and nylon anti-whip net.
A0581 Tube Tie Breakaway with hardware and net: fits 48˝and 42˝bank.
Adjustable tension breakaway goal with tube-tie net attachment system—virtually fail safe.

Competition styling, an official-sized glass backboard and
breakaway goal make Draper Portable Backstops an af-
fordable choice for facilities looking for premium competition
court and side court systems. Low-maintenance extension
spring technology design makes one-person setup and height
adjustment easy and fast. Model 503018 (at right) has 66˝ of
safe play area, and model 503019 has 96˝. Each has a full size
42˝ x 72˝, ½˝ tempered glass backboard and breakaway goal.
Model 503019 also features a rear anchor kit and added struc-
tural members, ballast and horizontal beam padding to allow
high school or college competition play.

This goal provides consistent breakaway pressure even during the most aggressive slam dunk action.
The ring assembly floats on chromium ball bearings for smooth any-direction
flexibility. Tube-tie net attachment system allows dependable, easy net instal-
lation without steel wires or ties cords. Constructed of high tensile steel and
with all moving parts hardened for maximum life. Pressure release mecha-
nism is field adjustable. Includes anti-whip net and mounting hardware.

Direct Mount 8´–10´Height Adjusters
For Backboards
For rectangular or fan-shaped backboards and goals, our height
adjuster features a direct goal attachment and is designed to
mount to virtually any style of backstop. All Draper back-
boards have a limited lifetime warranty when used with our
height adjuster. Height adjuster includes a self-adhesive height
scale that is graduated in 1˝ increments and labeled at 6˝ inter-
vals. Height adjuster frame assembly is jig welded and factory
assembled to ensure precise alignment and smooth operation.
Motorized Height Adjuster: The electric linear actua-
tor provides smooth reversible motion for loads up to 600 lbs.
Linear actuator includes cam style limit switches that will al-
low 24˝ of travel. The Motorized Height Adjuster’s linear
actuator assembly is bolted in place and easily removed for con-
version to manual operation.

Adjuster Operator: A compact,
cordless, reversible electric operator
for use with the Manual Height
Adjuster. Makes the operation of
manual height adjustment an easy task.
Manual Height Adjuster: Is operated with a remov-
able awning-style crank handle and actuated via a ¾˝–6 Acme
threaded rod. Its actuator rod assembly is bolted in place and
easily removed for conversion to electric operation.

503029 Posilok™Safety Belt
Safety belts are recommended on all backstops, especially those
suspended over bleachers or playing areas. The Posilok Safety
Belt is self-checking, automatically resets and is virtually fail-safe.
The maximum weight of a suspended load is 1000 lbs. The Posi-
lok Safety Belt checks the speed of the rotating reel six times
per revolution and will instantly lock if the speed exceeds the trip
point of 1½´ per second. Belt includes a maximum extension indi-
cator and breakaway loop to indicate if the Posilok Safety Belt
has been tripped. The Posilok Safety Belt has been cycle tested
to 30 years of typical gymnasium usage with no significant wear
or deterioration of the unit.

503085 Motorized Winch
A one-horsepower motorized winch operates our EZ Fold
basketball backstops. Our winch delivers 1000 lbs. of vertical
lifting and 1500 lbs. of horizontal line pull. Designed to hold the
backstop at any position when raising or lowering the backstop
with the turn of a key. The cable drum is helically grooved for
¼˝, 7 x 19 aircraft cable. The grooves provide proper spooling
of the cable and ensure excellent repeatability of stop positions.
The drum is equipped with a pressure roller with torsion spring
tensioning. It ensures that the cable tracks in the grooves even
under slack cable conditions. The winch has a direct drive, double
worm reduction system. No oil lubrication is required. Automatic
limit switches control the distance of travel in either direction.
Entire winch assembly is UL listed. A 3-position momentary key
switch and cover plate is supplied with each motorized winch.
Five-year warranty.
503023 EZ Power—
Optional Wireless Remote Control
Eliminate complicated, expensive wiring, wall boxes and indi-
vidual key switches with a radio control system. The EZ Power
portable hand held transmitter is capable of operating up to 27 in-
dividual one horsepower electric motor winches. Power supply for
the hand held transmitter is a standard 9-volt battery.
Operating range is at least 125´. Requires item 503020, a 9-station
transmitter, or 503021, a 27-station transmitter.
503086 Manual Winch
For ceiling height under 26´, the EZ Fold
backstop may be operated by a manual
winch with a removable handle. The winch
features double worm-gear reduction with a
36:1 ratio and composite gears to make the
unit virtually maintenance free. The cable drum is helical grooved
for ¼˝, 7x 19 aircraft cable to provide proper spooling. Drum is
equipped with a pressure roller with torsion spring tensioning to
insure cable tracks in grooves even under slack conditions. Gears
and cable drum are enclosed by integral cover. Operated with stan-
dard removable handle or optional A0490 Portable Operator.

A compact, heavy-duty, reversible electric operator for use with
manual winch 503086. Complete with an 18˝extension adap-
tor. Makes the operation of manual winch backstops a quick,
easy task. Optionally available with 503048 50´ Power Cord and
503047 Portable Storage Case.

ity gym wall padding to provide
heavy-duty protection for indoor
impact areas. Draper’s Wall Pads
are ideal for basketball courts,
gymnastics areas, wrestling rooms,
rehabilitation centers—any surface
area where padding is needed
Draper standard pad construc-
tion: a 2˝ thick, 3.5 lb. density,
polyurethane foam bonded to a
⁷⁄₁₆˝ thick waferboard which is then
fully wrapped in a vinyl-coated
polyester covering, enhanced by a
leather-like emboss pattern. Cov-
erings come in a variety of colors.
(See color choices and physical
description below.) Optional ma-
terials: a 2˝ thick pad with a 6 lb.
density; a 1½˝ thick polyurethane
pad with a 3.5 lb. or 6 lb. density; a
1½˝ thick polyethylene foam pad;
a ½˝ fire-rated plywood backer;
Vonar®interlining, a flame retar-
dant material. Vonar®is a registered
trademark of DuPont.
Draper will custom make pads any shape or size, including
those for columns, beams, doors and stage fronts. All pads are
manufactured in one-piece construction. Laced, round post
pads without a waferboard backing are available.
All standard Wa ll Pads include a 1˝ lip on the top and bottom
for easy installation over finished or unfinished walls. Or speci-
fy one of the following:
Mounting options available—
• “Z”–Clips at the top and bottom for
wall mounting pads. Edges of the pad
are flush with the wood backer. Elimi-
nates 1˝ lip.
• “Z”–Clip at top and 1˝ nailing strip at
the bottom.
• Channel System: channel attaches to wall clips; trims out top
and bottom lip; remove single pads as needed for repair.
Wall Padding Vinyl Selections
General: Solid vinyl-coated polyester fabric with an em-
bossed pattern.
Weight: Average 14 oz. per square yard.
Strength: 350 lbs. per sq. inch break strength and 65 lbs. tear
resistance.
Resistance to Rot and Mildew: Excellent.
Ultraviolet Resistance: Excellent.
Flammability: Rated as self extinguishing in
accordance with California State Fire Code (f–230).
Printed color may vary from actual vinyl. Color samples available
upon request.
Class A Flame Retardant Wall Pads
Draper’s flame retardant wall pads have been independent-
ly tested as a singular unit and have been found to meet the
requirements of 2003 IBC Section 803.2.1, when tested in
accordance with NFPA 286, and given a “Class A” rating
in accordance with ASTM-E84 and NFPA 255 test pro-
cedures. Test Results: Flame Spread Index = 20; Smoke
Developed Index = 350. Draper uses state of the art flame
resistant polychloroprene latex, open cell foam cushioning
material, rigid OSB backing and vinyl-coated polyester cov-
ering enhanced by a leather-like emboss pattern. Coverings
come in a full range of colors.

Draper’s newest gym equipment product makes a dramatic presentation of
the United States flag in any gymnasium. “Old Glory” appears at the touch
of a switch or wireless transmitter. Standard product includes a sewn, nylon
flag. Options include state flags or school banners, provided by customer.
The Patr iot can display a flag either vertically or
horizontally. Flag measures 12´ x 18´ with both mount-
ings. The vertical or banner flag is housed in a 12´
case, and the horizontal flag is housed in a 20´ case.

Power Volleyball System
Every Draper PVS is equipped with a power-tensioning
winch on one upright. The handle folds for player safety.

PVS-01 Power Volleyball System is a one-time invest-
ment that nets you all the top quality demanded by today’s
top level volleyball programs. The all-aluminum PVS-01
floor-sleeve type system is a breakthrough in volleyball
technology and engineered for a lifetime of hard use. It will
provide years of trouble-free safe service.
Each post is manufactured with high-strength 3½˝O.D.
aluminum. Height adjustment from 6´1˝ to 8´4˝ in one inch
increments, uses precise mechanical pin adjustment. Each
upright is equipped with an adjustable protective rubber
bumper for fine adjustments. Power winch has a folding
handle to insure player safety.
