Wewarranttotheoriginal enduser(purchaser)thatthemodemwillbefreefromanydefectsin workmanshipormaterialsforaperiod of one
(1)yearfromthedateofpurchasefromthedealer.Pleasekeepyourpurchasereceipt inasafeplaceasitservesasproofofdateofpurchase.
During thewarrantyperiod,anduponproofofpurchase, shouldtheproduct haveindicationsoffailureduetofaultyworkmanshipand/or

TheDrayTek Vigor120 isanADSLmodemwithanEthernetconnection;
it isnota routerbutatrueADSLEthernetModem.Byprovidinga PPPoE
toPPPoABridge, theconnecteddevice (firewall, routerorPC)canlog
intotheInternet(yourISP) directlyand havefull controlovertheADSL
connection.
Thissectionwill guideyouonhowtoinstall themodemforPhysical
connectivity.
1. ConnecttheDSLinterfacetothe MODEMportofexternalADSL
splitterwithanADSLlinecable.
2. ConnecttheLANporttoyourhostdevice(PC, routeretc.)withthe
suppliedRJ-45ethernetcable.
3. Connectthe poweradaptertothepowerportoftheVigor120.
Connecttheotherendtothemainswall outlet.
4. TurnontheVigor120
5. Checkthe POWER,ACT,LAN andDSL LEDstoconfirmnetwork
connections.

• BasicConfiguration
BydefaulttheDrayTekVigor120isconfiguredasabridgebetween
PPPoEandPPPoA. ThisisthecorrectsettingsformostISPs.
ThePPPoAprotocolisusedforyourconnectionfromtheVigor120tothe
ISP.PPPoEisusedlocallybetweentheVigor120modemandyourhost
device(router, PCetc.).
Thenetworkdevice(Firewall,broadbandrouteroraPC)behindtheVigor
120isrequiredtobeconfiguredaseitherPPPoEorasa Static/Dynamic IP
address clientinordertoestablishInternetconnectivity.
PPPoAConfiguration:
AsaPPPoE->PPPoAbridgemodem,itisnotnecessarytoaccess the
webinterfaceoftheVigor120 unless yourISP doesnotusethemost
commonADSLmethods(PPPoAand0/38asVPI/VCI).

MPoAConfiguration(onlyfor ISPsthatrequireit):
Whenconnectingthe ModemtoanMPoAlineyouwill needtolog onto
thewebinterfaceofthe unittomakesuitablechanges:
1. OpenawebbrowseronyourPC andtype http://192.168.2.1.
2. Now, thewebinterfacemainscreenwill appear:

2. Enable MPoAandconfigurethispageasbelow:

4. NowconfigurethebroadbandRouter/PC accordingtoyour
connectiontypei.e.instaticIPaddressorDynamic IPaddress
mode.
Note:IfyourISP usesothervaluesforVPI/VCI, thensetappropriately.
