Safety Instructions
Read t he inst all at ion guide t horoughly before you set up t he modem.
The modem is a complicat ed elect ronic unit t hat may be repaired only by
aut horized and qualif ied personnel. Do not t ry t o open or repair t he modem
yourself .
Do not place t he modem in a damp or humid place, e.g. a bat hroom.
Do not st ack t he modems.
The modem shoul d be used in a shelt ered area, wit hin a t emperat ure range of 0
t o +45 Celsius.
Do not expose t he modem t o direct sunlight or ot her heat sources. The housing
and elect ronic component s may be damaged by direct sunlight or heat sources.
Do not deploy t he cable f or LAN connect ion out door t o prevent elect ronic shock
hazards.
Keep t he package out of reach of children.
When you want t o dispose of t he modem, please f ollow local regulat ions on
conservat ion of t he environment .
Warranty
We warrant t o t he original end user (purchaser) t hat the modem wil l be f ree f rom any
def ect s in workmanship or mat erials f or a period of t wo (2) years f rom t he dat e of
purchase f rom t he dealer. Please keep your purchase receipt in a safe place as it serves
as proof of dat e of purchase. During t he warrant y period, and upon proof of purchase,
should t he product have indicat ions of f ail ure due t o f ault y workmanship and/ or
mat erials, we will, at our discret ion, repair or replace t he def ect ive product s or
component s, wit hout charge f or eit her part s or labor, t o what ever ext ent we deem
necessary t ore-st ore t he product t o proper operat ing condit ion. Any replacement will
consist of a new or re-manuf act ured f unct ionally equivalent product of equal value and
will be off ered solely at our discret ion. This warrant y will not apply if t he product is
modified, misused, t ampered wit h, damaged by an act of God, or subj ect ed t o

Interface Description

ON/ OFF ON/ OFF: Power swit ch.
Fact ory Reset Rest ore t he default set t ings. Usage: Turn on t he modem. Press
t he but t on and keep for more t han 10 seconds. Then t he modem
will rest art wit h t he fact ory default conf igurat ion.
P2-P1 Connect er for local net worked devices.
DSL Connect er f or accessing t he Int ernet t hrough xDSL.
Note
Remove t he prot ect ive f ilm f rom t he rout er before use t o ensure
vent ilat ion.

and conf igure t he modem’ s set t ings t hrough web browser.
Bef ore st art ing t o configure t he modem, you have t o connect your devices
correct ly.

1. Connect t he DSL int erf ace t o t he MODEM port of ext ernal split t er wit h a DSL
line cable.

2. Connect t he LAN port t o your comput er wit h a RJ-45 cable.
3. Connect one end of t he power adapt er t o t he Power port of t his device.
Connect t he ot her end t o t he wall out let of elect ricit y.
4. Power on t he modem.
5. Check t he POWER, ACT, LAN, DSL and INTERNET LEDs t o assure net work
connect ions.

Vigor167 has keyhole t ype mount ing slot s on t he underside.
1. Drill t he holes on t he wall according t o t he recommended inst ruct ion.
2. Fit screws int o t he wall using t he appropriat e t ype of wall plug.
Note
The recommended drill diamet er shall be 6.5mm (1/ 4” ).
3. When you f inished t he above procedure, t he modem has been mount ed on
t he wall f irmly.

To access t he Int ernet , please f inish t he basic conf igurat ion af t er complet ing t he
hardware inst allat ion.
Make sure your PC connect s t o t his device correct ly.
Note
Please set up t he IP address of t he comput er t o be t he same
subnet as the default IP address of Vigor device

Open a web browser on your PC and t ype http:/ / 192. 168.1. 1. A pop-up window
will open t o ask f or a username and password. Please t ype “ admin/ admin” as t he
Username/ Password and click Login.

Now, t he Main Screen will pop up.
1. Open Operation Mode t o open t he f ollowing page. Select Modem Mode and
click Next.

2. In t his page, conf igure t he syst em t ime set t ings. Then click Next.
3. For t he Int ernet connect ion, configure t he set t ings based on t he inf ormat ion
from your ISP. Then click Next t o get t he next page.

4. From t he f oll owing page, change LAN set t ings if required. Then click Next.
5. Now, click Apply & Reboot t o act ivat e t he set t ings.
