Geachte gebruiker,
Vriendelijk bedankt voor de aankoop van dit DRU product.
Onze producten zijn ontwikkeld en gefabriceerd volgens de
hoogst mogelijke kwaliteit-, prestatie- en veiligheidseisen.
Hierdoor kunt u rekenen op jarenlang probleemloos
gebruiksplezier.
Bij het toestel worden twee handleidingen geleverd: de in-
stallatiehandleiding en de gebruikshandleiding. De gebruiks-
handleiding geeft u de informatie die u nodig hebt om het
toestel goed en veilig te laten functioneren. U dient deze
gebruikshandleiding zorgvuldig te lezen alvorens het toestel
in gebruik te nemen. U dient de gebruikshandleiding
én de installatiehandleiding zorgvuldig te bewaren.
Als gebruiker mag u uitsluitend de werkzaamheden
uitvoeren die in de gebruikshandleiding worden
genoemd. Voor de overige werkzaamheden schakelt u een
vakbekwame installateur in. Neem bij vragen of twijfel altijd
contact op met uw installateur.
In de handleidingen worden de volgende markeringen
gebruikt om belangrijke informatie aan te geven:

Zorg ervoor dat in- en uitlaten van lucht
niet geblokkeerd worden.
1. Inleiding
Het toestel wordt geleverd in combinatie met een blok-
kenset.
Het vlameffect van deze sfeerhaard kan gebruikt worden
met en zonder verwarming.
De verwarming kan in twee standen worden gebruikt,
namelijk 750 Watt of 1500 Watt.
Ieder moment van de dag kunt u genieten van een rust-
gevend realistisch vlameffect wat gegenereerd wordt door
de modernste technologie. Het energie verbruik benodigd
voor het vlameffect is bijzonder laag (ongeveer 20Watt).
Dit toestel voldoet aan de geldende CE richtlijnen.
2. Veiligheid
2.1 Algemeen
- Leest u dit hoofdstuk over veiligheid zorgvuldig door
voordat u het toestel gaat gebruiken.
- Houdt u zich aan de algemeen geldende voorschriften en
de voorzorgsmaatregelen/veiligheidsinstructies in deze
handleiding om schade of ernstig lichamelijk letsel te
voorkomen.
2.2 Voorzorgsmaatregelen / veiligheidsinstructies
bij installatie
Volg de onderstaande voorzorgsmaatregelen/veiligheids-
voorschriften nauwkeurig op:
- Alle onderhoud en service werkzaamheden dienen door
de installateur te geschieden, de installateur dient hier-
voor de installatie en service handleiding te raadplegen.
- Raadpleeg als het toestel beschadigd is direct de leveran-
cier voordat het toestel wordt geïnstalleerd en voordat
het apparaat in bedrijf wordt genomen.
- Gebruik het toestel niet buiten.
- Plaats het toestel niet in een vochtige omgeving of nabij
een bad douche of zwembad.
- De uitlaat van de warme lucht en de inlaat voor de
koude lucht mogen op geen enkele wijze geheel of
gedeeltelijk worden geblokkeerd (zie figuur 2).

- Het is niet toegestaan het toestel te voorzien van een
isolatie deken of op enige wijze in te pakken.
- Het toestel is geschikt voor 230V, 50Hz en heeft een
aansluitwaarde van maximaal 1500 Watt.
- De stekker moet na installatie altijd bereikbaar zijn;
- De wandcontactdoos waarop de toestel wordt aan-
gesloten dient geaard te zijn.
- Plaats geen dingen onder of voor het toestel omdat
deze door warmte aangetast zou kunnen worden
(zie figuur 2).
- Leg het netsnoer nooit in de buurt van de hete lucht
uitlaat.
- Zorg ervoor dat bv. overgordijnen of andere brandbare
materialen minstens 1 meter van het toestel verwijderd
zijn.
- Het toestel dient door de installateur geïnstalleerd te
worden volgens geldende voorschriften.
- Gebruik dit toestel niet in combinatie met andere regel-
apparatuur zoals een timer, thermische regelaar of een
geprogrammeerde controller wat ervoor zorgt dat het
toestel automatisch inschakelt. Het toestel zou bedekt
kunnen zijn of iemand zou iets onder of voor het toestel
geplaatst kunnen hebben, wat zou kunnen leiden tot
brand.
- In geval van storing de stekker uit de wandcontactdoos
nemen, en uw installateur waarschuwen.
- Natte kleding, handdoeken e.d. niet op of nabij het
toestel te drogen hangen (zie figuur 2).
- Door het toestel met de afstandsbediening op stand by
te zetten blijft er een kleine stroom door het toestel
lopen, het verdient de aanbeveling voor het uitschakelen
de aan uit schakelaar te gebruiken.
- Het toestel NIET gebruiken bij omgevingstemperaturen
lager dan 2ºC en hoger als 40ºC.
- Het toestel NIET gebruiken als de luchtvochtigheid meer
dan 80% bedraagt.
- Het toestel NIET gebruiken boven de 2000 meter.
- Let op: Het toestel weegt ongeveer 40 kg, verplaats
het toestel niet zonder hulp van een tweede persoon.
2.3 Extra bescherming
Indien het toestel in een vertrek geïnstalleerd
wordt waar jonge kinderen of hulpbehoevende
mensen zonder toezicht verblijven, adviseren
wij het toestel af te schermen en de afstands-
bediening op een veilige plek op te bergen.
2.4 Extra waarschuwingen
1. Het symbool op de onderzijde nabij de hete
lucht uitlaat (zie figuur 3) geeft aan dat het
toestel op deze plek bijzonder heet is en dat
door het afdekken van deze uitlaat het toestel
en/of de omgeving oververhit kunnen raken.
2. Let op! Aanraking van hete delen kan brand-
wonden veroorzaken!
3. In geval van beschadiging van de glasruit mag het
toestel niet meer gebruikt worden, raadpleeg
uw installateur.
4. Er mogen door de gebruiker geen werkzaamheden aan
het toestel verricht worden!
3. Verpakking
Het toestel mag alleen getransporteerd worden in de daar-
voor bedoelde verpakking. Door geen gebruik te maken
van de juiste verpakking kan er transportschade ontstaan
waardoor gevaarlijke situaties kunnen ontstaan.
4. Uitpakken en recycling
 Bij ontvangst moet gecontroleerd worden of de verpak-
king onbeschadigd is. Is dit niet het geval dan dient u
contact op te nemen met uw leverancier. Gebruik het
artikel bij beschadigde verpakking in geen geval!
 Controleer het toestel op transportschade. Neem bij
elke vorm van schade contact op met uw leverancier en
gebruik het toestel in geen geval!
 Bewaar de verpakking tot het toestel geïnstalleerd is en
de goede werking is getest.
 De verpakking dient via de regulier weg afgevoerd te
worden.
5. Installatie en aansluiten
Laat het toestel door een erkende vakhandelaar plaatsen in
overeenstemming met de daarvoor geldende voorschriften.
Het toestel dient te worden aangesloten op een geaarde
wandcontactdoos.
6. Vervangen zekeringen
Het opgenomen vermogen (met beide verwarmingselemen-
ten aan) door het toestel is ruim 1500 Watt. Derhalve is de
sfeerhaard voorzien van 2 stuks 10 Ampère trage zekeringen
welke achter het linker sierprofiel zijn geplaatst.

Door de linker sierstrip (zie figuur 4) weg te nemen kunt
u bij de zekeringhouders (figuur 5).
Voor het vervangen van de zekeringen, neem de stekker uit
het toestel en controleer of de beide zekeringen niet defect
zijn. Als de zekeringen defect zijn kunt u nieuwe plaatsen
(2 stuks van 10 AmpèreTraag) en de stekker weer terug-
plaatsen, als de zekeringen opnieuw defect raken moet u
contact opnemen met uw leverancier.
Plaats onder geen enkele voorwaarde zekeringen van meer
als 10 Ampère. Dit zou bij kortsluiting ernstige gevolgen
kunnen hebben.
Het is zaak rekening te houden met andere toestellen /
apparaten die op dezelfde groep zijn aangesloten zodat het
maximale stroomverbruik van deze groep niet overschreden
wordt, raadpleeg hierover uw installateur.
7. Plaatsen van toestel, vrije ruimte om het
toestel
Het toestel is ontworpen om strak in te bouwen in een
nieuw te bouwen boezem. Daarnaast wordt de mogelijk-
heid geboden om tegen deze boezem een sierschouw te
plaatsen. Er dient echter rekening gehouden te worden met
de luchtstroming rond het toestel (uw installateur leest hier
over in de installatie handleiding).Als gebruiker moet u er
voor zorgen dat er niets geplaatst wordt voor het toestel
in verband met de hete lucht uitlaat en de koude lucht
inlaat (zie figuur 2).
8. In- en uitschakelen van het toestel.
Door de schakelaar aan linker bovenkant van het toestel
te bedienen (0 of 1) kan het toestel uit of aangezet worden
(zie figuur 3).
Let op: door het toestel hier uit te zetten verbruikt het
toestel geen stroom meer.
Het verdient altijd de aanbeveling wanneer het
toestel (de nacht bijvoorbeeld) uitgezet wordt dit
met deze schakelaar te doen.
9. Plaatsen en verwijderen glasruit
De base en de projectieplaat mogen uitsluitend voor
servicedoeleinden door de installateur verwijderd worden!
Voorkom bij het plaatsen en verwijderen beschadigingen
aan het toestel en/of de plaat.
Zorg ervoor dat vóór het verwijderen van de ruit, het
verwarmingselement is uitgeschakeld (zie hiervoor ook
paragraaf 13.2).
9.1Verwijderen glasruit:
1. Verwijder de sierstrip aan de rechterkant van het toestel
(figuur 6).Verwijder op dezelfde wijze de sierstrip aan
de linkerkant.
Let op! Door het verwijderen van de sierstrippen
komt de glasruit los. Houd met één hand de ruit
op zijn plek tijdens het uitvoeren van stap 2.
2. Verwijder het luchtinlaatprofiel uit het toestel
(figuur 7).
3. Kantel de glasruit iets naar voren (figuur 8). Haal de ruit
nu voorzichtig uit het toestel (let op voor beschadi-
gingen aan het inbouwframe!). Leg of zet de glasruit
weg op een veilig plaats waar het niet breken kan.

9.2 Plaatsen glasruit:
1. Pak de glasruit met beide handen vast. Breng de glasruit
voorzichtig tussen het inbouwframe door naar binnen
(let op voor beschadigingen aan het inbouw-
frame!).
2. Zet de onderkant van de glasruit op de 2 rubbers die
daarvoor bedoeld zijn.
3. Kantel de glasruit rustig naar achteren tot deze rechtop
in het toestel staat. Hou deze met één hand vast om
hem op zijn plaats te houden.
4. Plaats het luchtinlaatprofiel in het toestel (figuur 9).
5. Plaats de rechter sierstrip (figuur 10). Plaats op de-
zelfde wijze de linker sierstrip.

10. Plaatsen blokkenset
Plaats de blokkenset zoals aangeven in figuur 11 t/m 15.
Het is van belang dat de blokken op de correcte wijze
worden neergelegd in verband met het vlambeeld! Zorg dat
het toestel in werking is tijdens het neerleggen van de blok-
ken. Hierdoor kan namelijk bepaald worden of de blokken
nadelig effect op het vlambeeld hebben!
1. Pak de blokkenset uit en controleer de blokken op
schade. Indien dit het geval is neem dan contact op met
uw leverancier.
2. Verwijder de glasruit (zie hoofdstuk 7).
3. Plaats blok A aan de linkerzijkant op de base (figuur 11).
4. Leg snipper B aan de rechterkant op de base
(figuur 12).
5. Leg blok c aan de rechterkant op de base, schuin over
blok A (figuur 13). Het blok moet iets op snipper B
gelegd worden (figuur 14).
6. Leg snipper D ongeveer neer als weergegeven in
figuur 15.
7. Indien gewenst kunnen de bijgeleverde chips naar eigen
inzicht als extra decoratie op de base gelegd worden.
8. Plaats de glasruit (zie hoofdstuk 9). Controleer na het
plaatsen van de glasruit of het vlambeeld nog altijd
correct weergegeven wordt op de projectieplaat.

11. Draadloze afstandsbediening
11.1 Bediening
Het toestel wordt standaard geleverd met een draadloze
bediening (figuur 16). Hiermee kunnen de in het toestel
aanwezige verwarmingselementen aan- en uitgezet worden,
de lichtintensiteit (hoogte van het vlameffect) kan aangepast
worden en het toestel kan op standby gezet worden.
In figuur 16 zijn de symbolen op de afstandbediening ver-
klaard.
U moet tijdens bediening van de afstandsbediening deze
richten op het toestel, dit omdat het gaat om een infrarood
afstandsbediening. De afstandsbediening werkt alleen als de
hoofdschakelaar van het toestel op 1 is gezet.
11.2 Plaatsen of vervangen van de batterijen in de
afstandsbediening
De elektrische voeding van de afstandsbediening wordt
verzorgd door batterijen. De levensduur van de batte-
rijen is ongeveer één jaar. Volg voor het vervangen van
de batterijen de volgende stappen (Let op: door gebruik
van batterijen die niet lekvrij zijn kan de afstandbediening
onherstelbaar beschadigen):
• Verwijder de deksel aan de onderzijde van de afstands-
bediening.
• Plaats de twee batterijen van het type AAA in de houder
en let hierbij op de plus en min aanduiding.
• Sluit de deksel.
Let op: oude batterijen mogen niet bij het huisvuil maar
moeten bij het Klein Chemisch Afval.
12. Eerste maal gebruik maken van de
verwarming
Tijdens het eerste gebruik van de verwarmingselementen
kan er een onaangename geur ontstaan, dit wordt ver-
oorzaakt door het aanwezige stof en het gebruik van het
element materiaal voor de eerste keer.
Ventileer goed, de geur verdwijnt snel na een aantal keren
opwarmen.
Blijft er een onaangename geur ontstaan neem dan contact
op met uw leverancier.
13. Algemene opmerkingen
13.1 Onderhoud en reiniging
De controle en het onderhoud dienen in ieder geval een
goede en veilige werking van het toestel te garanderen.
Onderhoud waarvoor het toestel gedemonteerd
moet worden mag alleen gedaan worden door uw
installateur! Uw toestel dient jaarlijks te worden
gecontroleerd, dit dient door een gekwalificeerd
bedrijf te gebeuren.
Zorg dat het toestel is afgekoeld en dat het toestel
spanningsvrij is voordat met reinigen of inspectie wordt
begonnen.
Het verdient aanbeveling om het toestel regelmatig op
stofvorming te controleren en zonodig stofvrij te maken of
te laten maken.
Zonodig kan de luchtinlaat en de luchtuitlaat met de
stofzuiger en een zachte kwast worden gereinigd. Op de
binnenkant van de glasruit kan zich na verloop van tijd stof
ophopen U kunt het stof verwijderen met een glasreiniger
of een vochtige doek (zie verwijderen glasruit). Bij het
reinigen van het toestel geen bijtende of schurende mid-
delen gebruiken. Lakbeschadigingen, bijvoorbeeld door het
plaatsen van voorwerpen op of tegen het toestel, vallen
buiten de garantie.
13.2 Thermische beveiliging
In de verwarmingelementen is een thermische beveiliging
opgenomen om oververhitting te voorkomen, deze kan de
verwarming uitschakelen als de uitlaat voor warme lucht
wordt belemmerd (zie figuur 2).
Na afkoeling zal het verwarmingselement weer inschakelen.
Mocht deze beveiliging om wat voor een reden dan ook
zomaar inschakelen, dan dient u contact op te nemen met
uw leverancier.
Nadat het verwarmingselement wordt uitgeschakeld zal
de ventilator nog enkele seconden nadraaien met het doel
het element af te koelen. In verband met deze functie is het
van belang dat het verwarmingselement met de afstand-
bediening wordt uitgeschakeld voordat het toestel met de
hoofdschakelaar wordt uitgezet. De hoofdschakelaar mag
pas omgezet worden als de ventilator is uitgedraaid, dit zal
ongeveer 30 seconden duren.

13.3 Afdanken
De verpakkingsmaterialen zijn grotendeels recycle-
baar, gooi deze dus niet bij het huisvuil weg maar
zorg ervoor dat ze gerecycled kunnen worden.
Indien u het toestel vervangt of verwijdert, moet u
het toestel via de reguliere weg afvoeren.
Voordat tot demontage wordt overgegaan eerst het toestel
vrij van de netspanning maken door de het netsnoer los
te koppelen of de groep waarop het toestel is aangesloten
spanningsvrij te maken.
Oude apparaten bevatten waardevolle materialen
die gerecycled kunnen worden, geef oude apparaten
daarom bij een geschikte verzamelplaats af.
13.4 Garantie
De garantie op uw DRU toestel wordt verleend via uw
leverancier. In geval van storingen dient u altijd met hem
contact op te nemen. Uw leverancier zal DRU inschakelen
indien hij dit noodzakelijk acht. De fabrieksgarantie op uw
toestel bedraagt 2 jaar na datum van aankoop.
14. Storingen
Het is zeer onwaarschijnlijk dat er zich storingen voordoen,
in het geval er zich toch een storing voordoet adviseren wij
u uw leverancier te raadplegen.
Mogelijke storingen:
Het toestel heeft wel een vlameffect en de ventilator
doet het ook alleen er komt geen warmte lucht
meer uit het toestel.
Mogelijk heeft de thermische beveilig ingegrepen, na ver-
loop van tijd zal de beveilig afkoelen en er weer warmte
gegenereerd worden.
Mocht de beveiliging direct weer ingrijpen en het verwar-
mingselement uitschakelen, dan dient u uw leverancier te
raadplegen.
Het toestel doet niets meer.
Schakel het toestel uit met de schakelaar, en controleer
of de beide zekeringen in de netentree niet defect zijn.
Als de zekeringen defect zijn kunt u nieuwe plaatsen (2
stuks van 10 AmpereTraag), er zitten 2 reserve zekeringen
in de houder die dubbel is uitgevoerd.
De voorste zekeringen zijn de reserve zekeringen.
Als de zekeringen opnieuw defect raken moet u contact
opnemen met uw leverancier.
Plaats onder geen enkele voorwaarde zekeringen van meer
als 10 Ampere. Dit zou bij kortsluiting ernstige gevolgen
kunnen hebben.
De haard reageert niet meer op de afstands-
bediening.
Mogelijk zijn de batterijen van uw afstandbediening leeg,
plaats nieuwe en indien het probleem zich nog voordoet
kunt u uw leverancier raadplegen.

of problem-free use.
The appliance is accompanied by two manuals: the Installa-
tion Manual and the User Manual.The User Manual provi-
des you with information that you require to operate the
appliance properly and safely. Please read this User Manual
carefully before using the appliance. Preserve the User
Manual and the Installation Manual carefully.As the
User, you may only perform such operations as may
be stated in the User Manual. For other operations,
please engage a technically qualified installer. In case of questi-
ons or doubts, please always contact your installer.

1. Introduction
The appliance is delivered in combination with a block set.
The flame effect of this decorative fireplace can operate
with or without heating.
The heating system may be operated at two levels, namely
750 Watts or 1500 Watts.
You can enjoy the relaxing and realistic flame effect, created
using state-of-the-art technology, at any time of the day.
The energy consumption required for the flame is excepti-
onally low (around 20 Watts).
This appliance meets the requirements of the applicable CE
Directives.
2. Safety
2.1 General
- Read this Section on safety carefully before you start
using the appliance.
- Duly follow the generally applicable rules and regulations
and preventive measures/safety instructions contained in
this manual in order to prevent damage or grave
personal injury.
2.2 Preventive Measures / Safety Instructions
during Installation
Carefully follow the Preventive Measures / Safety
Instructions listed below:
• all maintenance and service operations should be car-
ried out by the installer; the installer should refer to the
installation and service manual for this purpose.
• If the equipment is damaged, immediately contact the
supplier before installing and starting the equipment;
• Do not use the equipment out of doors.
• Do not use the equipment in a damp environment or
near a swimming pool, bath or shower.
• The hot air discharge outlet and the inlet for the cold
air should not be partially or fully blocked in any manner
whatsoever (see figure 2).

• It is not permissible to cover the appliance with an insu-
lation cover or to pack it in any other manner.
• The appliance can be used with 230V, 50Hz and has a
maximum connected load of 1500 Watts.
• The plug should always be within reach after installation.
• The wall socket to which the appliance is connected
should be earthed.
• Do not place any objects in front of the appliance since
this may be damaged by heat (see figure 2).
• Never lay the mains cable near the hot air discharge
outlet.
• Ensure that for example heavily lined curtains or other
inflammable materials are placed at least 1 meter away
from the appliance.
• The installer should install the appliance in accordance
with the applicable laws and regulations.
• Do not use the appliance in combination with other
control equipments such as a timer, thermal controller
or a programmed controller that automatically switches
on the equipment.This is because someone may have
covered the appliance or placed a combustible object
under or in front of the appliance, which could catch fire.
• In case of faults, remove the plug from the walls socket
outlet and notify your installer.
• Wet clothing, towels, etc., should not be placed for
drying on or near the appliance; (see figure 2).
• When the appliance is switched to stand-by with the
remote, a minor current continues to pass through the
appliance, and the use of the on/off switch is therefore
recommended.
• The appliance should NOT be used in ambient tempera-
tures below 2ºC and higher than 40ºC.
• The appliance should NOT be used if the air humidity
exceeds 80%.
• The equipment should NOT be used at altitudes excee-
ding 2000 meters.
• Attention: The appliance weighs about 40 kg, and
should therefore not be shifted without the help of a
second person.
2.3 Extra protection
If the appliance is installed in a room where
young children or invalid persons are left unsu-
pervised, we recommend that you screen-off the
appliance and keep the remote control in a safe
place.
2.4 Extra warnings
1. The symbol on the bottom next to the hot air
outlet (see figure 3) indicates that the appli-
ance becomes extremely hot at that point, and
that if this outlet is covered, the appliance and/
or the environment may become overheated.
2. Attention! Touching hot parts may cause burn
injuries!
3. Do not use the appliance if the glass pane is
damaged; please contact the installer.
4. The user should not perform any work on the
equipment!
3. Packaging
The equipment may only be transported in the packaging
provided for the same.Transport damage may be caused if
the correct packaging is not used, which may lead to hazar-
dous situations.
4. Unpacking and recycling
 On receipt, check to ensure that the packaging is unda-
maged. If the packaging is damaged, please contact your
supplier. Never use the appliance in a damaged condi-
tion!
 Check the equipment for transport damage. If you find
damage in any form whatsoever, contact your supplier
and do not use the appliance under any circumstances!
 Preserve the packaging until the appliance has been
installed and tested for proper working.
 The packing should be discarded in the regular manner.
5. Installation and connection
The appliance should be installed in conformity with the
applicable laws and regulations by a recognised specialist
dealer.
The equipment should be connected to an earthed wall
socket outlet.
6. Replacement of fuses
The power consumption (with both the heating elements
switched on) is around 1500 Watts. For this reason, the
decorative fireplace has two delay-action fuses, installed
behind the left decorative profile.

By removing the decorative strip on the left-hand side
(see figure 4) you can gain access to the fuse holders
(figure 5).
For replacing the fuses, remove the plug from the device
and check whether the two mains supply fuses are defec-
tive. Replace the fuses if they are defective (two 10-Amp.
delay-action fuses), and re-insert the plug, and if the fuses
are again found defective, please contact your supplier.
Under no circumstances should you install fuses of a rating
higher than 10 Amperes.This may have serious consequen-
ces in case of short circuits.
Take due account of the other equipments / appliances that
are connected to the same group, to ensure that the maxi-
mum power consumption of the group is not exceeded;
please contact your installer for further details.
7. Installing the appliance, clearance around
the appliance
The appliance is designed to be installed permanently in a
new-build chimney breast.There is also the option to install
a decorative fireplace. However, due account must be taken
of the air currents around the appliance (your installer will
find information about this in the Installation Manual).As a
user, you should ensure that no objects are placed in front
of the appliance, particularly the hot air outlet and the cold
air inlet (see figure 2).
8. Switching the appliance on and off
The appliance can be switched on or off (see figure 3) by
operating the switch at the top left of the appliance
(0 or 1).
Attention: the equipment does not consume any further
current if switched off from here.
It is always recommended that this switch should
be used to switch off the appliance for some time
(at night for example).
9. Installing and removing the glass pane
Only the installer may remove the fixture moulding and
back plate for service operations! While installing and
removing, ensure that the appliance and the back plate are
not damaged!
Ensure that the heating element is disconnected prior to
removing the pane (see paragraph 13.2).
9.1 Removing the glass pane:
1. Remove the decorative strip on the right hand side of the
appliance (figure 6). Remove the decorative strip on the
left hand side in the same way.
CAUTION!The glass pane will become loose as
a result of the removal of the decorative strips.
Hold the pane in place with one hand whilst
performing step 2.
2. Remove the air inlet moulding from the appliance
(figure 7).
3.Tilt the glass pane slightly forward (figure 8). Lift the
pane carefully out of the appliance (take care to avoid
damage to the construction frame!). Set the glass
pane down in a safe place where it cannot be broken.

9.2 Installing the glass pane:
1.Take hold of the glass pane firmly with both hands. Place
the glass pane carefully between the construction frame
and into the interior (take care to avoid damage to
the construction frame!).
2. Place the underside of the glass pane onto the two
rubbers provided for this purpose.
3.Tilt the glass pane gently backwards until it is standing
vertically in the appliance. Hold this firmly with one hand
in order to keep it in place.
4. Place the air inlet moulding inside the appliance (figure 9).
5. Position the right hand decorative strip (figure 10).
Position the left hand strip in the same way.

10. Installing the block set
Position the block set as illustrated in figures 11 to 15.
It is important that the blocks are laid out in the correct
manner in relation to the flame image! Ensure that the ap-
pliance is working when laying out the blocks. In this way it
can be determined whether the blocks have a detrimental
effect upon the flame image!
1. Unpack the block set and check whether the blocks
have suffered any damage. If this is the case then please
contact your supplier.
2. Remove the glass pane (see chapter 7).
3. Lay block A on the left hand side of the base (figure 11).
4. Lay strip B on the right hand side of the base (figure 12).
5. Lay block C on the right hand side of the base, diagonally
over block A (figure 13).The must be laid slightly on top
of strip B (figure 14).
6. Lay strip D in the approximate area as illustrated in
figure 15.
7. If so desired the chips supplied can be laid on the base as
extra decoration.
8. Install the glass pane (see chapter 9). After installing
the glass pane, check that the flame image is still correctly
reproduced on the projection plate.

11. Wireless remote control
11.1 Operation
The appliance is generally supplied with a wireless remote
control (figure 16).The heating elements in the appliance
can thereby be switched on and off, the light intensity (the
size of the flame effect) can be adjusted, and the appliance
can be placed on stand-by.
The symbols on the remote control have been explained in
Figure 16.
The remote is an infrared remote control system, so point
it at the appliance to operate it.The remote control system
will only work if the main switch of the appliance is set at 1.
11.2 Inserting or replacing batteries in the remote
The remote control is battery-powered.The life of the bat-
teries is around one year. For replacing the batteries, follow
the steps outlined below (attention: using batteries that
are not leak proof may permanently damage the remote):
• Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the remote.
• Place the two type AAA batteries in the holder with due
regard to the positive and negative polarity.
• Close the cover.
Attention: old batteries should not be placed in the domes-
tic waste, but should be treated as Small Chemical Waste.
12. First-time use of the heating system
During the first use of the heating elements, an unpleasant
odour may arise due to the dust, and due to the use of the
element material for the first time.
Ensure good ventilation, so that the odour will soon disap-
pear after heating-up takes place a number of times.
If the unpleasant odour continues, please contact your
supplier.
13. General remarks
13.1 Maintenance and cleaning
Inspection and maintenance should always guarantee the
safe operation of the appliance in the manner required, at
all times.
Maintenance involving the dismantling of the ap-
pliance should only be carried by your installer!Your
appliance should be inspected each year by a duly
qualified company.
Before commencing cleaning or inspection, make sure that
the appliance has cooled down and that the voltage supply
to the appliance has been switched off.
It is recommended that the equipment should be regu-
larly checked for accumulated dust and the dust should be
removed if necessary.
If necessary, the air inlet and the air outlet may be cleaned
with a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush. Dust may accumu-
late on the inside of the glass pane in the course of time.
You may remove such dust using a glass cleaner or a soft
cloth (please refer to the instructions for removing
the glass pane). Do not use any corrosive or abrasive ma-
terials to clean the appliance.The guarantee does not cover
damage to paint, for example due to objects being placed
on or against the appliance.
13.2 Thermal cut-out
There is a thermal safety device fitted to the heating ele-
ments in order to prevent overheating.This may switch off
the heating if the outlet for warm air is obstructed
(see figure 2).
Once it has cooled down, the heating element will switch
itself back on. If this safety device should then re-engage for
whatever reason, please contact your supplier.
After the heating element is switched off the fan will con-
tinue to operate for several seconds in order to cool the
element. In relation to this function it is important that the
heating element is switched off using the remote control
before it is switched off with the main switch.The main
switch may only be switched off once the fan has finished
operating.This takes about 30 seconds.

13.3 Discarding the appliance
The packaging materials are largely recyclable, and
therefore do not place these in the domestic waste,
but ensure that they can be recycled.
If you replace or remove the appliance, please dis-
pose of the appliance in the regular manner.
Before dismantling, first disconnect the mains voltage by
disconnecting the mains cable or disconnecting the voltage
supply to the group to which the appliance is connected.
Old appliances contain valuable materials that can be
recycled; for this reason, hand over old appliances to
a suitable collection point.
13.4 Guarantee
The warranty for your DRU appliance will be provided by
your supplier. In case of malfunctions, you should always
contact him.You supplier will contact DRU if he feels this is
necessary.The factory warranty for your appliance is valid for
2 years after date of purchase.
14. Faults
It is highly unlikely that faults will occur, but if faults do oc-
cur, we advise you to contact your supplier.
Possible faults:
The appliance produces a flame effect and the fan is
also working, but the appliance does not give off any
hot air.
It is possible that the thermal cut-out has been triggered;
after some time, the cut-out will cool down and heat will
be generated again.
If the cut-out again comes into operation and switches off
the heating element, please contact your supplier.
The appliance does not perform any actions.
Remove the plug from the appliance and check whether the
two mains supply fuses are defective.
Replace the fuses if they are defective (two 10-Amp. delay-
action fuses), and re-insert the plug, and if the fuses are
again found defective, please contact your supplier.
The front fuses are the spare fuses.
If the fuses again become defective, please contact your
supplier.
Under no circumstances should you install fuses of a rating
higher than 10 Amperes.This may have serious consequen-
ces in case of short circuits.
The decorative fireplace no longer responds to the
remote.
It is possible that the batteries of your remote are dischar-
ged; insert new ones, and if the problem continues, please
contact your supplier.
