TVIX HD TUNER Introduction
1. Features
• TVIX HD TUNER can play HDTV without a
digital TV set-top box with excellent and super-
clear display on HDTV screens .
• You can watch other channels while recording a
program you want, but the tuner does not
support two-channel recording at the same
time.(T-441)
• TViX Tuner has the various recording features
like direct recording/scheduled recording and
repeated manual recording, so you cannot miss
single program of digital TV.
It's a completely different type of PVR since you
can easily upgrade and expand the capacity of
HDD by themselves like PC upgrading.
And you can backup the recorded le to/from
the PC.
• TViX Tuner implements all the DVB-T features
like EPG/ scheduled recording/ PC-connectivity
and this will let user enjoy all the fruits of the
digital broadcasting as well as the supreme
audio and video qualities.
• When using the HDTV mode, you can
congure the sleep time.
If the sleep time is reached when the recording
is in progress, the TViX will shut down after
nishing the recording.

Usage Precautions and Notes
▶ Do not drop the device. It may cause critical
damage to the hard drive.
▶ Do not touch the power plug with wet hands or
use defective power cables & electric outlets.
It may cause electric shocks or re.
▶ Keep all magnetic materials away from the TViX.
Magnetic materials such as speakers or magnets
may erase or cause damage to the data stored in
the hard disk.
▶ Do not try to disassemble or remodel the device.
It may cause malfunction or re.
▶ Do not detach the tuner box when the TViX is working.
It may damage the TViX or the tuner and void your
warranty.
▶ We recommend using a threaded-type antenna
connector.
▶ Checking Digital signal Reception
- Press the INFO button on the remote control.
The Signal strength meter will appear on the
left-bottom.
- If signal strength meter indicates less than 60%,
adjust your antenna to increase the signal
strength.
- Continue to adjust the antenna until you nd the
best position with the strongest signal.
▶ Record Notice
- The rst partition of the internal hard disk must
use the NTFS format.
FAT32 format can cause an error message.
- When the signal is weak or unstable, recording
cannot work properly.
- When the hard disk is unstable, recording
cannot work properly.
- Hard disk requires the Check Disk, you must run
the Check Disk sometimes
▶Unplug this apparatus when they are lightening
storms or unused for a long time.
▶Do not connect the USB host or network when the
HDTV mode is active.
These can be cause stuttering or jerky motion.
We recommend connecting the USB host or network
only in the le mode.

broken hard disk. We recommend periodic backups
to prevent data loss.

• 30 pin connector : Connects to the TViX main
unit.
• Air Antenna : Connects to the terrestrial TV
antenna signal
• Locking knob : This knob is used to lock or
unlock the body.

1. TUNER Connection
Before the TViX is connected to the tuner, the
power of TViX should be turned off. Connecting
the tuner when the power of TViX is "ON" will
damage the TViX or the tuner and void your
warranty.
① Separate Tuner Cover from TViX.
(You can easily detach the Tuner Cover from
TViX body using coins. After slightly pushing
the tuner cover in the direction of an arrow
mark, please pull the tuner cover.)
② Insert the turner turning tuner box's bottom
toward upside.(Please notice the sticker
marked on the turner box) The locking knob
should be "OPENED"

③ Insert inside. The locking knob should be
"OPENED".
④ After inserting inside, please change the locking
knob to "LOCKED".
⑤ If you'd like to detach the tuner from TViX,
please step back these.
(After changing the locking knob on the TViX to
Right side, please pushing downside and
slightly pull the tuner from the TViX)

2. Video/Audio connection
Connect the audio and video cables from the
TViX's output jacks to the TV input jacks.
Please refer to Video Connection and Audio
connection on the TViX manual.

Using TVIX HD TUNER
1. TViX HDTV SETUP Setting
The HDTV setting can be shown on the
screen when the tuner is connected.
Boot Mode : File Player
DTV Time Auto Sync : off
HDTV Input : Air

Time Zone :
Central Time(US& Canada)
Day Light Saving : Off

Start Channel Scan
• boot mode : Select HDTV to start in HDTV
mode or File Player to start in File mode (main
menu). If the HD tuner is not connected, TViX
will start in le mode automatically.
• DTV Time Auto Sync : is used to adjust the EPG
time and VFD time.
VFA time is changed to real EPG time.
• HDTV Input : Select your input. This model is
supports free-to-air DVB-T digital.
• Location : Select your location.
• Time Zone : If you want to use exact EPG guide,
you have to congure your time zone using Up/
Down button.
• Day Light Saving : enable this settings in the
area of using DST.
• HDTV Default Audio : select default audio.
• Start Channel Scan : Press this menu if you
want to scan the channel.

2. Channel scanning
① Before you can use any of the special channel
buttons, the available channels must be
scanned and memorized.
Press DTV button on the remote control, and
the Tuner LED
lights.
② HDTV Tuner will scan and store all of the digital
(DTV)channels that are available in your local
area automatically.
If you want to scan the channel manually, you
can use Start Channel Scan option on the
SETUP-HDTV menu.
③ It takes about 2~3 minutes.
④ To stop the scanning, press STOP(■) button on
the remote control.
⑤ After scanning, you have to congure the time
zone, If you want to use exact EPG guide, you
have to set your time zone exactly.
⑥ If you press the VIDEO button on the remote
control to change to le mode while scanning
channels, the following message appears.
Press YES, and TViX is changed to le mode.

⑦ If you press power button while scanning, the
following message appears. Press YES, and
TViX will shut down.

1. TViX HDTV SETUP Setting

• TV Input : Select your input.

• Country / Location : Select your country or
location.
• Time Zone : to use the EPG guide with correct
recording times, you have to congure your time
zone by using the arrow keys.
• Daylight Saving Time : set this option on if you
are in the area of DST.
• Audio Language : select default audio. To
change the audio format, press the AUDIO
button on the remote.
• TimeShift Duration : Set the maximum
time-shifting interval.
• Analog REC Quality : Set the analog recording
quality. (Analog TV or external A/V-in)
Below data describes analog recording le size
and bit rate.
- HQ : 69.2MB/min 720*480, 9364Kbps,
- SP : 42.2MB/min 720*480, 5801Kbps
- EP : 28.3MB/min 352*480, 3985Kbps
• Start Channel Scan : Press ‘Start Channel
Scanning’ if you want to scan the channel.
Select TV icon on the main menu to play
the TV mode (Without tuner box,
this menu is not available.)
Press TV/HDTV button on your remote
controller to switch the TV mode.

2. Channel scanning
① When installation is successfully nished,
Press SETUP-HDTV on your remote controller.
② To scan the channels, you can use the Start
Channel Scan menu on the SETUP-HDTV
menu.
To improve the picture quality in a poor signal
area, please purchase a signal amplier and
install properly.
③ The channel scan takes about 5~6 minutes.
④ To stop the channel scanning, Click on
STOP(■) button on the remote control or select
the STOP on the scanning window.
⑤ After scanning, you have to congure the time
zone on SETUP-HDTV, If you want to use the
EPG guide, you have to set your time zone
correctly.
* Checking Digital signal Reception
① Press the INFO button on the remote control.
② The signal-strength meter will appear on the
INFO window.
③ If the meter indicates weak signals, adjust
your antenna to increase the signal strength.
Continue to adjust the antenna until you nd
the best position with the strongest signal.
3. Changing the channel
Press CH +/- button to change the TV channels.
You can also enter the channel number by using
the numeric keypad on the remote and the
channel will change after a few seconds.

Introduction TVIX HD TUNER
1. Caractéristiques
• Le TVIX HD TUNER est capable de lire la TV
HD sans boîtier décodeur TV numérique tout en
offrant un afchage clair de première qualité sur
des écrans HDTV.
• Vous pouvez regarder les autres chaînes tout en
enregistrant un programme désiré, mais attention
le tuner ne peut pas enregistrer deux chaînes en
même temps.(T-441)
• Le TViX Tuner dispose de plusieurs fonctions d’
enregistrement telles que l’enregistrement direct/
l’enregistrement programmé et l’enregistrement
manuel répété.
Il vous sera impossible de manquer un seul des
programmes proposés sur la télévision
numérique.
Il s’agit d’un type de magnétoscope numérique
complètement différent étant donné que vous
pouvez facilement mettre à niveau et augmenter
la capacité du disque dur.
La procédure est identique à celle de la mise à
niveau d’un PC.
Vous pouvez également sauvegarder le chier
enregistré vers/ à partir du PC.
• Le TViX Tuner est équipé de toutes les fonctions
DVB-T telles que le guide électronique de
programme/l’enregistrement programmé/ la
connectivité PC. Ceci permet à l’utilisateur de
proter de l’intégralité des aspects de la diffusion
numérique ainsi que d’excellentes qualités audio
et vidéo.
• En mode HDTV, vous pouvez congurer l’heure
de mise en veille.
Si l’heure de mise en veille est atteinte en cours
d’enregistrement, le TViX s’arrête une fois l’
enregistrement terminé.
• Le TVIX HD TUNER n’est pas compatible avec la
diffusion analogique(PAL).

Précautions d’utilisation et remarques
▶ Ne faites pas tomber l’appareil. Cela risque d’
endommager le lecteur de disque dur.
▶ Ne touchez pas la prise électrique avec des mains
humides et n’utilisez pas de prises ou de câbles
électriques défectueux. Cela risque de provoquer
un incendie ou un choc électrique.
▶ Gardez les matériaux magnétiques éloignés du
TViX.
Les matériaux magnétiques tels que les haut-
parleurs ou les aimants peuvent effacer ou
endommager les données enregistrées sur le
disque dur.
▶ N’essayez en aucun cas de démonter ou de
modier l’appareil.
Cela risque de provoquer un mauvais
fonctionnement ou un incendie.
▶ Nous vous conseillons d’utiliser un connecteur d’
antenne de type leté.
▶ La sortie TV, le ZOOM et le volume par défaut
dépendent des paramètres du TViX.
▶ Vérication de la réception du signal numérique
• Appuyez sur la touche INFO de la télécommande.
La mesure de l’intensité du signal apparaît en bas
à gauche.
• Si la mesure de l’intensité du signal est inférieure à
60%, réglez votre antenne an de l’augmenter.
Poursuivez le réglage de l’antenne jusqu’à ce que
vous trouviez la meilleure position avec le signal le
plus fort.
▶ Remarques relatives à l’enregistrement
• La première partie du disque dur interne doit
utiliser le format NTFS.
Le format FAT32 risque de provoquer un message
d’ erreur.
• Lorsque le signal est faible ou instable,
l’ enregistrement ne peut pas fonctionner
correctement.
• Lorsque le disque dur est instable, l’enregistrement
ne peut pas fonctionner correctement.
• Lorsque le disque dur nécessite une vérication, il
est nécessaire d’exécuter la fonction Check Disk
▶ Débranchez l’appareil en cas d’orages et d’éclairs
ou s’il n’est pas utilisé pendant une longue période.
▶ Ne branchez pas l’hôte USB ou le réseau lorsque
le mode HDTV est activé.
Ceci risque de provoquer un saut ou un
mouvement saccadé.
Nous conseillons de connecter l’hôte USB ou le
réseau uniquement en mode chier.

Installation et connexion
1. Connexion du boîtier TUNER
Avant de connecter le TViX au tuner, il est
nécessaire que le TViX soit éteint.
Le fait de connecter le tuner lorsque le TViX est
sur "ON" va endommager le TViX ou le tuner et
annuler votre garantie.
① Pour l’ouverture du capot du logement du tuner
TNT du TVIX, vous pouvez aisément retirer le
capot du logement tuner TNT en utilisant une
pièce de monnaie.
En poussant légèrement la pièce dans la
direction de la èche, veuillez tirez le capot du
logement tuner TNT.
② Insérez la carte option tuner TNT dans le TVIX,
face avec l’inscription TVIX HD vers le
ventilateur (voir schéma).
