Introduction
Your e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus is a locked automatic pill dispenser and
is designed to remind and dispense pills in accordance with your dosage
schedule from one (1) to six (6) times per day. It may be used in the patient’s
home or in an institution. The e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus promotes better
health by helping you take medications as prescribed, it’s a simple way to
manage even the most complex medication regimens. Setup can be done
directly on the unit or with your smartphone through Bluetooth (Bluetooth
has a 33-foot range) by downloading the free app. Works with Android and
iOS (iPhone).
NOTE: Due to the technical limitations of Bluetooth, your e-pill MedSmart
Voice Plus must be within 33 feet of the smartphone being used for setup.
Intended Use & Key Features
The e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus can help patients take medications as
prescribed.

Components
The e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus comes with:
1Locked Automatic Pill Dispenser
128-Compartment Medication Tray (extra tray available for purchase)
1 Dosage Template Set (9 different templates in each set)
1Power Cord
2Keys (one key for the caregiver and the second to keep as a backup)
4AA Batteries (for 60 Day battery backup when not plugged in)
The medication tray holds 28 medication events.
•1 medication time per day –refill tray every 28 days (4 weeks)
•2 medication times per day –refill tray every 14 days (2 weeks)
•3 medication times per day –refill tray every 9 days
•4 medication times per day –refill tray every 7 days (weekly)
•5 medication times per day –refill tray every 5 days
•6 medication times per day - refill tray every 4 days
We recommend that you always keep the e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus
locked. Two keys are included –one key for the caregiver and one key as a
backup.
Note: The e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus is not Tamper-Proof and therefore
should NOT be used to administer pain medications or Schedule II/III
drugs.

Turning On and Opening e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus
1. Turn the pill dispenser upside down.
2. Insert the 4xAA Alkaline batteries included (see below).
Remove the battery door by sliding the battery door latch back to
unlock it (see picture). Insert the 4 AA batteries, be sure batteries are
placed in the correct direction, to power on your e-pill MedSmart Voice
Plus.
3. e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus is now ON.
4. Keep the dispenser upside down and unlock its large round cover. To
unlock, insert the key into the silver lock. Turn the key counterclockwise
(turn to the left) 90 degrees. WARNING: Do not turn the key more than
90 degrees when unlocking or locking the dispenser.
5. Push the PRESS button down to Open the lid, you will hear a click
sound indicating the door is now opened.

Filling and Setup
1. Now that the lid is open, remove the clear tray that is inside the
dispenser. This makes filling the tray easier.
2. e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus comes with nine different dosage templates.
The template identifies the number of doses per day and, very
importantly, the time of the day that you are filling the tray. Place the
correct dosage template based on your needs on the tray.
3. Filling the medication tray. With the tray’s e-pill sticker at 6 o’clock, fill
the tray counter-clockwise. The first dose goes into the compartment
immediately to the right of the “e-pill”sticker.
4. Fill compartments (up to 28 dosages are available) with pills using the
dosage template as a guide. Note: If you take medications three (3)
times per day, the last compartment will be left empty.
5. Align the tray in the dispenser: Align the compartment with the “e-pill”
sticker directly below the gray button labeled “B.”
6. Close the lid, turn the dispenser over, and lock the dispenser

Setting the Clock and Alarms Times
There are 2 options to setup the e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus.
Option 1: Using the buttons on the automatic pill dispenser (Recommended).
Option 2: Download and install the free App on your Smartphone. The “LeBox”
App is available for iOS/iPhone (Apple App Store) or for Android (Google Play
Store).
Option 1 (Recommended)
CLOCK - Setting the Clock
1. Press and Hold button Afor a few seconds (until the symbol “:” STOPS
blinking located between Hours and Minutes) and then release.
2. Set the correct time by pressing:
-Button B to advance the hours (AM/PM is located on the left side of the screen)
-Button C to advance the minutes
3. Store clock time by pressing button Aand the symbol “:” starts to blink.
4. Optional –Set clock to use the 24-hour time format: e-pill MedSmart
Voice Plus is set to use the 12-hour time format by default
(AM/PM). To switch to 24-hour format: In clock mode, press button C
once to enter time format setting. Then press button Cto switch
between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour time formats. Confirm
selection by pressing button A.
ALARMS - Setting and Deleting Alarms
Please set all alarms in chronological order starting from 12 AM.
1. Press button Aonce. “1”will appear next to the alarm clock symbol. To
set the alarm time for alarm 1, press button Bfor the hour and button C
for the minutes. After you have set the correct time, press button Aonce
to save the alarm and to advance to the next alarm.
2. For Alarms 2 thru Alarm 6 continue as above. Press button Bfor the
hour, button Cfor the minutes, and button Ato save.

3. Exit the Alarm Setting Mode by pressing button A repeatedly until the
current time is show (occurs after Alarm 6). You’ll be confirmed with
“Alarm Setup Successfully”
Deleting an alarm
1. Press button Buntil --:-- is displayed, which occurs after 11:00 p.m. (or
23:00).
Option 2 (LeBox Smartphone App)
Download, Install, and Connect to Your Smartphone
1. Search for “LeBox” on the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android
Phone).
2. Download and Install the “LeBox”App
3. Start the app. On the apps Home page, tap the
“Device Pairing” Icon. There are 2 ways to connect
your pill dispenser with your Smartphone
(connection distance is up to 33 feet).
a. Tap “Bluetooth Connect”, then tap the name of
the device that you would like to connect with
(The name of your e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus
can be found on the bottom of the pill dispenser
BT Name).
b. Tap “Quick Connect”, and then scan the QR code on the
bottom of the pill dispenser.
Note: Once connected, the pill dispenser will say “Phone
is connected successfully”, the light indicator will flash
for 2 seconds and a Bluetooth symbol will appear on the
screen.
CLOCK - Setting the Clock
1. The clock on the e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus sets automatically as it pairs
with your smart phone. Confirm this before setting your alarms.

Alarms - Setting the Alarm Dispensing Times via the LeBox App
1. On the Home page, tap the “Setting” Icon.
2. Tap “Alarm Setting” to go into the setting mode.
3. To set the alarm times, Alarm 1-6 tap.
4. Tap on “Time” and set alarm time (note AM/PM).
5. Tap CONFIRM and then tap Save to confirm your alarm setting.
6. After you are done setting the alarms, turn on the Notifications by
sliding the switch bar on the right side of the screen. You can set up to
six dispensing times (alarms) per day.
How to Dispense Medications/Stop Alarms
Dispense Medications and Stopping Alarm
1. The device will alarm by saying in a friendly voice, “It’s time to take
your medications” for up to 60 minutes along with friendly blinking
green light.
2. Slide the dispenser door to the right and dispense medications by
turning automatic dispenser upside down. The medications will fall into
the palm of your hand or a suitable medicine cup or bowl. The alarm
and light will turn off and voice message will say “Thank you!” after
medications are dispensed.
Alarm Duration–Voice Reminder “It’s time for your medications” will
sound for up to 60 minutes. During the first 10 minute the alarm will go off
once a minute. For minutes 11-59 the alarm will go off every 3 minutes.
Missed Dose –Missed Dose will occur 64 minutes after alarm has stopped.
After one hour, a voice reminder message “Patient may have missed their
medications” will sound for up to 4 minutes.

Locking & Unlocking the e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus
When locking or unlocking do not turn the key more than 90 degrees or
use excessive force.
Lock: When closing the lid, you will not hear a click sound. Please make
sure to double check that the lid is completely closed before turning the
dispenser over to lock it. To lock, insert the key into the silver lock and turn
the key counterclockwise (turn to the left) about 90 degrees.
Unlock: Flip the dispenser upside down, insert the key into the silver lock
and turn the key clockwise (turn to the right) about 90 degrees.
Functions
Volume Control (or Silence)
The e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus has 2 different volumes as well as silence to
accommodate different hearing levels. To change the volume, press button C
once to enter the volume control setting. Press button B once to switch
between 0, 1, 2. 0 is silence (bottom left of the screen), 1 being the lowest
volume and 2 being the highest volume. Confirm volume control by pressing
button A.
Low Battery
When the pill dispenser is low on battery, the low battery symbol will appear
on the screen. Please replace 4X AA batteries (use only alkaline batteries). The
estimate battery life is 6-12 months.
Power Saving Mode
To save power, the e-pill MedSmart Voice Plus will stand by and turn off the
display after several minutes of no operation. At alarm time, the dispenser will
wake up and sound its alarm.

Reviewing Dosage Records via LeBox App
•A yellow circle on the date indicates current date
•Failure to take the medications within (64 minutes) after the alarm is
turned on is considered a “missed” dose
•A red dot beside the date indicates user has missed at least one (1)
alarm (dose) on that date
•A yellow date indicates the prescription medication information of that
date has been input into the App
