Battery Safety Precautions
1. Please note that the battery must be inserted with the correct polarity (+ and -), as indicated on the battery.
2. Do not short circuit the battery.
3. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
4. Remove spent batteries from the device immediately and dispose responsibly.
5. Do not apply heat to the batteries.
6. Do not directly weld or solder the batteries.
7. Do not dismantle the batteries.
8. Do not bend the batteries!
9. Do not put the batteries into fire!
10. Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
11. Do not allow children to replace batteries unsupervised!
12. Do not store batteries near fire, ovens or other sources of heat. Neither place batteries in direct sunlight, nor use
nor store them in vehicles in hot weather.
13. Keep new batteries in their original packaging and away from metal objects. Do not mix up loose batteries!This
can lead to battery shorting and thereby to damage, burns or even fire.
14. Remove batteries from the device when it is not being used for extended periods of time.
15. Never touch leaking batteries without taking the corresponding precautions. If leaked liquid comes into contact
with the skin, the affected area of skin must be immediately washed with running water. Battery fluid should on
no occasion come into contact with the eyes and mouth. If this occurs, please contact a doctor immediately.
16. Clean the contacts on the battery and also the connectors on the device with a dry cloth.
17. Remove the batteries from the disposing of the device.

Preparation 4
Unpacking
1. Carefully remove this device and its accessories from its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging materials and transportation fastenings if present.
3. Check the content of the package for completeness and damage. If the content of the package is incomplete or
there are signs of damage, do not use the device. Return it to your retailer immediately.
4. If you wish to dispose of the packaging material, please observe the legal requirements.
5. Keep the packaging material if you want to use it to pack, send, or transport the device. Be sure to keep the
packaging in a safe way which avoids any associated risks.
WARNING! – Suffocation Danger! The packaging material is not a toy. Children may suffocate
or choke on plastic bags, film and polystyrene parts. Keep packaging materials away from
children.

Initial Use
1. Remove the protective film from the display and the measuring areas and wipe the device with a damp cloth.
2. Turn the device around and remove the protective film from the battery compartment whereby it's necessary to
pull on the protective film flap in order to remove it.The device is now ready for use.
3. Turn the device around with the standing surface towards you and place it on an even surface.

Observe the following hints and tips for correct usage of the device.
1. Set the desired measurement units (kg, lb, st:lb) from the unit switch located on back of the scale

4. The device switches itself off after approxiamately 15 seconds.
Inserting and Changing Batteries.
If the device displays an error code, refer to the FAQ chapter for further information.
1. In order to remove a spent battery and to insert a new one, turn the device over with underside facing you.
2. Remove the battery compartment lid (Fig. B).
3. Remove the existing battery (Fig. C).
4. Insert a new battery with the +side upwards in the battery compartment.
5. Place the battery compartment lid back on to the battery compartment (Fig. F).
WARNING – Make sure at all times that the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity
(+ und –) as indicated on the batteries themselves.

A 3 V button cell battery is present upon delivery. Remove the protective film from the
battery compartment whereby it's necessary to pull on the protective film flap in order to
remove it.

1. Keep the device out of reach of children, in a dry, well ventilated place.
2. When not used for extended periods, remove the batteries from the battery compartment and keep the device
in the original packaging in order to protect it from dust.
1. Wipe down the surface of the device with a slightly damp cloth and dry it out carefully. Make sure that no liquid
gets inside the device.
When cleaning the device do not use any chemicals, alkalis, abrasives or other strong cleaning
agents and disinfectants, since they may damage the surfaces of the device.
Do not store the device in a vertical position.
WARNING! Dry the device thoroughly subsequent to cleaning to avoid any
danger of slipping.

Q: For what reason does my device not work?
A: The battery is weak.
Q: How do I recognise that the battery is almost spent?
A: Lo appears on the display or the display is dim.
Q: When is the best time to take body measurements?
A: In the morning after rising, in order to obtain accurate readings.
