UNPACKING/ASSEMBLY/OPERATION
Please read this manual and follow the directions before using the equipment.
The carton contains:
1. Instruction manual
2. EB-9000PS power supply
3. EBSHH-1 Soldering handpiece holder, including Brass curls and sponge
4. EBSHP-1 Soldering handpiece, with green and gray grips,
5. EBRMP-1 Tip removal pad
6. EBM8CH176 Soldering Cartridge
Important: Keep all shipping materials until satisfactory operation has been verified.
Assembly and Operation
1. Remove EB-9000PS power supply base from its box and place on a
suitable work bench equipped with AC power.
2. Remove the EBSHH-1 work stand from its box. The unit should include a
brass tip cleaning curl and a rectangular sulphide free sponge.
3. Remove the EBSHP-1 handpiece from its box and place into iron holder.
4. Plug the handpiece cord into one of the front connectors and ensure that
the slide switch is positioned towards the plugged handpiece.
5. Plug tip cartridge into handpiece
6. Moisten the sponge with DE-Ionized water.
7. Connect the AC plug to a suitable AC power outlet.
8. Switch the power switch to the “on” position.
9. Allow a few seconds for tip cartridge to reach soldering temperature.
10. The unit should be ready to use.
Temperature Calibration
Easy Braid “Curie Heat Technology” systems do not require temperature
calibration. The technology is very precise and is self regulating. The alloy used
in the construction of the tip cartridge will maintain the set temperature for its
entire life.

TIP CARTRIDGE
REPLACEMENT/MAINTENANCE
Tip Cartridge replacement
Easy Braid tip cartridges are very easy to install and remove; make sure that you
turn off the power supply first. A simple “pull action” will disengage the tip
from its connector. When reinserting a new tip, the cleverly designed inner shaft
of the handpiece will self-center the tip in order to ensure quick and easy
assembly. A tip removal pad is included and should be used when inserting or
removing hot tips from the handpiece. This tip removal device is made of a
special heat shielded material and will protect the operator.
Important notice: Pliers should not be used when tip cartridges are being extracted from or inserted into
the handpiece. Any undue mechanical force may damage the heater coil and will result in premature
failure of the tip cartridge.
Tip Care
1. Use good quality solder, impurities in the solder can build up on the tip,
effecting heat transfer and making it difficult to solder.
2. Do not overfill the sponge tray with water, and always use DE-Ionized
Water. Please change the sponge regularly; solder residue can have an
abrasive effect on the end of tips and cause premature failure. Brass mesh
pads can also be used for the same purpose.
3. Avoid using tip tinning pastes as they are corrosive and often leave black
residue on the tips. This black residue is hard to remove and will affect the
ability of the tip to take solder.
4. Keep the tip tinned at all times--a non-tinned hot tip will oxidize quickly
and performance will be compromised.
5. When reinserting tips, make sure they are properly seated in the shaft of
the soldering handpiece.
