BEFORE INITIAL USE
Dangerofsuffocation!Keepthepackagingmaterialawayfromchildrenandanimals.
•Unpackallpartsandremoveallprotectivelmsandstickersthatmaybepresent.Checktheitems
suppliedforpossibletransportdamage.Ifyoushouldndanytransportdamage,donotusethe24hr
SafetyWalkingStick,butcontactthecustomerservicedepartmentimmediately.
•Thebuttoncellbatteriesareinthebatterycompartmentondeliveryandaresecuredfortransport.
Beforeyourstusethearticle,removethebuttoncellbatteriesfromthebatterycompartment(seethe
“Inserting/ChangingBatteries”chapter)toremovethetransportsecuringdevicefromthebuttoncell
batteries.Theninsertthebatteriesbackintothebatterycompartment.Ensurethecorrectpolarity(+/-)
wheninsertingthebatteries.
USE
The walking stick can be folded down:
•Ifyouwouldliketofolddownthewalkingstick,pullthethreepartsofthestickapartandfold
themover.
•Toassemblethestickagain,simplyplugthepartsbacktogether.
The walking stick is height-adjustable:
•Toadjusttheheightofthewalkingstick,pressdownthecatchonthebackofthestick,extendthe
walkingsticktothelengthyouwantandthenletthecatchlockbackintothecorrespondingholeinthe
walkingstick.
Switching the LED torch on and off:
•PresstheOn/OffbuttononthetopoftheLEDtorchtoswitchonthelight.
•PresstheOn/OffbuttononthetopoftheLEDtorchagaintoswitchoffthelight.
The angle of the LED torch is adjustable:
•YoucanadjusttheLEDtorchsothatthelightshineshorizontallyforwardsoryoucantiltthetopofthe
torchdowntolowerthebeamdownwardstowardstheground.
INSERTING / CHANGING BATTERIES
1.OpenthebatterycompartmentbyunscrewingthetopoftheLEDtorch.
2.Removetheusedbuttoncellbatteriesanddisposeoftheminanenvironmentallyfriendlyway.
3.InsertfourbuttoncellbatteriesoftheLR44typeintothebatterycompartment.Payattentiontothe
correctpolarity(+/–).
4.ThenscrewthetopoftheLEDtorchbackontothebatterycompartment.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Whenusingthe24hrSafetyWalkingStick,basicprecautionsshouldalwaysbefollowed,whichinclude
thefollowing:
1.CAUTION:Dangerofsuffocation!Keepthearticleandthepackagingmaterialawayfromchildren
and animals.
2.NeverlookdirectlyintothebeamoflightoftheLEDtorchandneverpointthebeamdirectlyatother
people or animals.
3.Batteriescanbedeadlyifswallowed.Keepbatteriesandthearticleoutofthereachofchildrenand
animals.Ifabatteryisswallowed,seekmedicalassistanceimmediately.
4.Beforeinsertingthebatteries,checkwhetherthecontactsonthelightandonthebatteriesareclean,
cleanthemifnecessary.
5.Useonlythebatterytypesspeciedinthetechnicaldata.
6.Alwaysreplaceallthebatteriesatthesametime.Donotusebatteriesofdifferenttypesorbrands,
orbatterieswithdifferentcapacities.Whenreplacingbatteries,notethecorrectpolarity(+/–).
7.Takethebatteriesoutofthetorchwhentheyaredischargedorifthearticleisnotbeingused.This
willpreventanydamagethatmightoccurifabatteryleaks.
8.Shouldabatteryhaveleaked,donotallowyourskin,eyesandmucousmembranestocomeinto
contactwiththebatteryacid.Ifyoutouchbatteryacid,rinsetheaffectedsiteswithabundantfresh
waterimmediatelyandcontactadoctorassoonaspossible.Removealeakingbatteryfromthe
articleimmediately.Cleanthecontactsbeforeyouinsertanewbattery.
9.Thebatteriesmustnotberechargedorreactivatedbyothermeans,dismantled,thrownintoare,
immersedinuids,orshort-circuited.
10.Maintainasufcientdistancefromsourcesofheatsuchashobs,ovens,replacesorlitcandles.
11.Donotdropthearticleorallowittobeknockedviolently.
12.Donotexposethearticletoextremetemperatures,strongtemperatureuctuations,directsunlight
or moisture.
13.ProtecttheLEDtorchfrommoistureandwetness.
14.Ifthearticleisdirty,wipeitwithadampcloth.Donotuseanycorrosiveorabrasivecleaningagents
tocleanthearticle!Theycoulddamagethesurface.
15.Ifthearticleisbroken,donotattempttorepairityourself.Intheeventofanydamage,contactour
customer service department.
