1. READ AND OBSERVE ALL THE IMPORTANT NOTICES ON ALL ELECTRICAL
APPLIANCES.

condition.
3. Do not op rat any applianc if it has a damag d cord or plug, if it is malfunctioning,

9. Th light fixtur has a polariz d plug (on blad is wid r than th oth r). As a saf ty
f atur , this plug will fit in a polariz d outl t only on way. If th plug do s not fit fully
in th outl t, r v rs th plug. If it still do s not fit, contact a qualifi d l ctrician. N v r

10. If an xt nsion cord is n c ssary, a cord with a prop r rating should b us d. A cord

11. Always unplug from outl t wh n not in us , b for putting on or taking off parts, and

Introduction
EcoSyst m Aquarium off rs two choic s of MH lighting. A 70-watt HQI MH is availabl
for both th small ECO MINI aquarium (14 gallons) and th larg ECO MINI (28 gallons).
A 150-watt HQI MH is availabl only for th larg ECO MINI aquarium. MH lighting is
an int ns light sourc . Again, pl as r f r to A PocketGuide™ to Marine Invertebrates by
Dr. Ronald Shim k for tips on s l cting th appropriat corals and oth r inv rt brat s for
your ECO MINI aquarium. Th MH light will produc a lot of h at, so th fan must b
turn d on wh n th MH light is on, to disspitat h at from th surfac of th wat r. A
nano chill r is also r comm nd d wh n using this light s tup up to avoid sudd n
fluctuations in t mp ratur .

Step 3: Maintenance
Plan on r placing th m tal halid bulbs v ry 8 months wh n using an 11 to 12 hour
photop riod p r day. Follow th st ps in Diagram 2. It is important not to chang th light
sp ctrum or K lvin t mp ratur of th bulb. Diff r nt sp ctrum bulbs hav diff r nt
int nsiti s. If a light of a diff r nt sp ctrum is install d, it may hav a diff r nt int nsity that
may caus th corals in th aquarium to burn or bl ach, which may th n l ad to th ir
v ntual d ath. This is similar to th analogy of moving corals up and down in th r f
aquarium. Corals that r quir high light int nsity will not liv (bl ach) wh n plac d d p
or in th shad , whil corals that r quir low light int nsity will not liv (burn, th n bl ach)
wh n plac d in high r light int nsity. Tak car to adjust th h ight of th light fixtur
high r up wh n it is first r plac d and th n gradually low r th h ight ov r an xt nd d
p riod of tim . This will h lp to maintain light int nsity r lativ ly constant for corals.

from d f cts in mat rials and workmanship for a p riod of on (1) y ar from th dat of
original r tail purchas (“Warranty P riod”). Th obligation of EcoSyst m Aquarium und r
this Limit d Warranty shall b limit d to r pair or r plac m nt, at EcoSyst m Aquarium
option, without charg , of any part or unit that prov s to b d f ctiv in mat rial or
workmanship during th Warranty P riod.
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
This Limit d Warranty appli s only to product manufactur d by EcoSyst m Aquarium. Th
Limit d Warranty do s not apply to any non-EcoSyst m Aquarium manufactur d products,
v n if packag d or sold with EcoSyst m Aquarium products. Non-EcoSyst m Aquarium
manufactur rs, suppli rs, or publish rs may provid th ir own warranti s. Pl as contact
an EcoSyst m Aquarium r pr s ntativ for mor information on non-EcoSyst m Aquarium
manufactur rs.
This Limit d Warranty appli s only to d f cts in factory mat rials and factory
workmanship. This Limit d Warranty do s not apply: (a) any conditions or damag
caus d by an accid nt, abus , misus , d struction, alt ration, improp r op ration or
violation of instructions furnish d by EcoSyst m Aquarium; (b) any conditions or damag
caus d by improp r l ctrical voltag s or curr nts; or (c) any conditions or damag
caus d by r pair or maint nanc att mpt d by anyon oth r than th EcoSyst m
Aquarium.
THIS WARRANTY AND REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF
ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ECOSYSTEM AQUARIUM SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND
ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTIBILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF ECOSYSTEM
