Congratulations on your purchase o the Edimax EW-7822UAC.
This is a detailed step-by-step installation instruction or Mac OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and it is basically the same or
OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard), OSX 10.7 (Lion), OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion), OSX 10.9(Mavericks) and OSX 10.10
(Yosemite)
Assumptions:
1. You have the Edimax EW-7822UAC Wireless USB adapter.
2. You have a Mac using OS X 10.6 to OS 10.11.
3. You have a computer which can get on Internet to download the latest Mac driver. You may need a di erent
computer and a USB lash drive to download and copy the ile to your Mac computer which will install EW-
7822UAC adapter.
4. You know the wireless network name and wireless security password o your WiFi network.
Be ore you start:
Go to the Finder. Check \Applications older. I you see the Wireless Network Utility existed in \Applications
older, you will need to uninstall the old driver be ore you install the latest driver.
You can find the uninstall procedure at “Uninstall” which is the last section of this instruction.

Download the driver from www.Edimax.US web site.
If your ac computer which will use the EW-7822UAC v2 can not get on Internet, please use another
computer which can get on Internet and you need a USB flash drive.

Go to http://www.edimax.us Click on “Driver Download”
under “Support” menu.

Find the Mac driver 10.6/10.7/10.8/10.9/10.10/10.11 or EW-
7822UAC
Click on the link and it will start to download to your
computer.

Go to “Downloads” older. You should see the EW-
7822UAC_Mac driver ile.
I you download the ile rom another computer other than the
Mac computer which needs the EW-7822UAC adapter, please
copy this ile to USB lash drive then move the ile to your
Mac computer.

Now your Mac computer which needs EW-7822UAC should
have the Mac driver ile.
Double click on the zipped driver ile.
There are two packages iles. One is or Installer. The other
one is or Uninstall.
We are ready to run the so tware to install the driver to the Mac computer

Install the driver software

Double click on “Installer.pkg” ile

You may encounter this warning message because your download
the driver rom our web site rather than rom Mac App Store. Click
on OK to close this warning message.
1. Simply hold the Control key then click the mouse on the
Installer.pkg ile, then select “Open”.
2. Or you can go to System Pre erences >> Security & Privacy as in
next two igures.

Go to System Preferences. Go to Security & Privacy.

Click on “Open Anyway” under General tab. Then the installation
package will be open automatically.

Welcome Screen appears. Click on “Continue” button.

Read the in ormation. Click on “Continue” button.

Next page is the License agreement page. Click on “Continue”
button.

Click on “Agree” button.

Click the line “Install or all users o this computer”. Then click on
“Continue” button.

Click on “Install” button.

Enter the username and password o your Macintosh computer to
allow the so tware to run in your computer.
Click on “Install So tware” button.

The message reminds you the computer will be restarted a ter the
installation.
Click on “Continue Installation” button.

The installation will be done in 1-2 minutes. Click on “Restart”
button to reboot your computer.
A ter the computer restarts, plug in the EW-7822UAC adapter i it is not plugged in yet. You should see the blue
light o EW-7822UAC lit up.

How to make Wi-Fi connection

You will ind a new USB-WiFi icon in the top menu bar.
Fig. 2 Click on the USB-WiFi icon on the top menu bar.
I you get the message “No Wireless NIC Plug in”, please unplug
the Edimax USB adapter rom your computer and plug it back in.
The wireless USB adapter will be detected by your computer.

The irst line “USB-WiFi” indicates the Status. “USB-WiFi: On”
means the usb adapter is enabled.
The second line is the command line to turn o /turn on the wireless
unction o usb adapter.
The list shows all the available wireless networks in your location.
Click the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to.

Type in the wireless security password o your Wi-Fi network. The
password is case-sensitive. You may check the “Show password”
box to display the text you entered. This “show password” in this
page will help you veri y the password is entered correctly. It does
not mean other wi- i devices would see your password.
Click on “Join” button.

I the Wi-Fi connection is success ully connected, the USB Wi-Fi
icon will be changed to bar chart icon.

Click on the USB Wi-Fi icon.
There is a check in ront o your Wi-Fi network indicates the
wireless adapter is connected to your network.

Go to System Pre erences. Go to “Network” icon.

You should see a new 802.11n NIC on the le t box. Click on
“Apply” button.
I there is a green dot on the 802.11n adapter and there are IP
address/subnet mask/router address in ormation, the usb wireless
adapter has received IP address rom your WiFi router and it is
ready or Internet.
Congratulations, all the setup is completed. You may open web browser to get on Internet.

How to uninstall Edimax wireless software

Run the Uninstall package.

indicates this is Uninstall package. Click on “Continue”.
