Hardware Installation:
1. Turn off your modem.
2. Use one Ethernet cable to connect your modem to WAN ort (Blue) ort
of BR-6228nC.
3. Use another Ethernet cable to connect your PC to one LAN Port (Yellow)
ort of BR-6228nC.
4. Turn on your modem.
5. Turn on the router by lugging the included 5v ower ada ter into a
ower outlet.
6. Ensure the PWR LED, the yellow WLAN LED, the WAN LED, and the LAN
LED are on or flashing.
You may refer the Quick Installation Guide in the ackage box for more
information.
Software Installation:
There are two ways to setu the routers. You can use the Setu Wizard in
our CD disc if your com uter is Windows based. You also may refer to
manually setu the router by o ening a web browser to access the
configuration menu of the router.
If you have Windows PC, you can use either way to do the setu .
If you have Macintosh, lease setu the router via web browser.

Section A: Setting Up the router with the Setup Wizard in CD disc.

Insert the setup wizard CD into a CD-ROM drive on your com uter. Run the
Ezmax.exe rogram while rom ted. When the wizard begins, select your
language.
Note: If the setup wizard doesn’t run
automaticall , please browse our
CD drive and double click the
“Ezmax.exe” file to start the wizard.

The setu wizard will guide you through
the installation rocess. Click “Next” to
continue.

Click “Next” to continue.

If you did not enter new assword, you
can just click on “Apply”. You get a rom t message “Do not change password”.
Click “Ok” to close the rom t.

Check that all cables are ro erly
connected and check the box labeled
“Y S, I have connected the cables
correctly” before clicking “Next”.

Select your roduct ty e – in this case
“BR-6228nC”.

Enter the default assword 1234 in the
field labeled “Current Password” and
then if you wish to change this
assword, enter a new assword in the
fields marked “New Password” and
“Confirm New Password”. Click
“Apply” and then “Ok”.
Note: This is the password to login to configuration menu of our router. It is not
the wireless securit password to connect to the router’s Wi-Fi network(s). If ou
change this password, please make a note of the new password.
If ou forget the new password, ou can reset the password back to its default
value of 1234 b pressing the WPS/Reset button of the router for 15 seconds.

Select your Internet connection ty e.
If your Internet rovider su orts DHCP
which gives you a dynamic IP, lease choose
“Cable Modem(Connection Automatically)”.
If you are unsure, lease contact your Internet
Service Provider (ISP).
For most users, “Cable Modem (Connection
Automatically)” is the correct setting.
Click “Next”.

Some cable internet com anies require
users register a MAC address with them.
If you received a host name and MAC
address from your ISP, enter them here
and click “Apply”. If your com uter
had been hysically attached to the
Cable modem, you can click “Clone” to
clone your com uter’s MAC address and
then click “Apply” to continue.

Please wait while the router connects to
the Internet.
If your Internet is DSL, there is no need to
fill in any information. You can just click
on “Apply” to continue.

When the router is connected to Internet, your default web browser will o en.
Close or minimize the browser to get back to the Setu Wizard menu. Please do
not select xit. You still need to configure the SSID and Wireless Security –
lease select “ SSID” from the to menu next.

Enter the ESSID which will be
the network name of your WiFi
network. Later, when the
router is fully o erational, you
will need to select this ESSID from
your available Wi-Fi networks to
connect to the wireless router.
Click “Next”.
12. Please wait while the router is
setting its new ESSID. When it is
finished, click “Complete!” and then
click “Next” to continue.

You can now o en a web browser to access the internet. Your com uter is
connected to the router by Ethernet cable. If your com uter is ca able of
wireless connection, you can un lug the ethenet cable from your com uter
and wirelessly connect to the ESSID of your wireless network.

To secure your network, we suggest
you set u your wireless security
assword.
Check the box labeled “ nable WPA
Pre-Share Key”. Remove the asterisks
refilled in textbox of “WPA Pre-Share
Key”. Enter your assword (security key)
in the “WPA Pre-Share Key” box. Your
assword should be at least eight
characters in length.
This assword will be required when your
Wi-Fi devices connect to the router. Click
“Apply” to save the settings.

Please wait for the router to save the
new asswords. When it is finished,
click “Complete!”.
Click “ XIT” in the to right corner to
exit the setu wizard.

For Mac/Linux users – or those who can’t run the CD, you can setu the router
manually using the web based configuration interface.
4. Click “CONTINIU ”
Section B: Setting Up the router via Web Browser

Enter http://192.168.2.1 into the URL of a web browser and enter the
username admin and assword 1234.

Select “General Setup” from the to
menu and “WAN” from the submenu.
Choose your connection ty e – for most
users it is “Dynamic IP”. If you are
unsure, lease contact your Internet
Service Provider (ISP).
If your com uter had been hysically
attached to your Cable modem, you can
click “Clone” to clone your com uter’s
MAC address.
Click “Apply.

assword 1234.

6. Click “CONTINIU ”

Select “Wireless” from the
submenu.
Select “Wireless Settings”.
The ESSID will be the network
name of your Wireless network.
nter a name in “ SSID”. Click
“Apply” and then “CONTINU ”.

Select “Security Settings” and
choose an “ ncryption” ty e
from the dro down menu.
“WPA pre-shared key” is
recommended.
For “WPA Unicast Cipher Suite”,
“WPA2(A S)” is recommended.
Enter a “Pre-shared key” – which will be the wireless security password to
access your wireless network. Your assword should be at least eight
characters in length. Click “Apply”

After configuring “Security Settings” for
the “5GHz” network, click “APPLY”
instead of “CONTINUE”. The system will
restart and save the changes. Click “OK”
when it has finished.

Exit the web based configuration interface and you can now open a new web
browser to access the internet.

Section C: Connect a Windows computer to our wireless network.
Search for the ESSID you named your Wi-Fi
network and click it and then click
“Connect”. If you set a assword for your
network, you will then be rom ted to
enter it.
After correctly entering your assword, you
will be successfully connected to your Wi-Fi
network.

Click the network icon ( , or ) in
the system tray and select “Connect to a
network”.

Section D: Connect a Macintosh computer to our wireless network.
After
correctly entering your assword, you will be successfully
connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Mac
View available Wi-Fi networks by clicking the icon along the to
right of your screen.
Click on the ESSID of your network. If you set a assword for your
network, you will then be rom ted to enter it.
