Introduction
The ELAN IRE2 is a sophisticated, detachable IR emitter. It features
a docking station that permits temporary removal of the emitter for
rearranging or servicing components. The IRE2 flashes red when emit-
ting IR signals, making it an ideal troubleshooting tool. This unit has
75% lower IR output than non-visible emitters, therefore should not be
used in “Blaster” applications.
Installation Notes:
• Read the Owner’s Manual for the component to be controlled to find
where the IR Sensor Window is located. A flashlight can also be use-
ful for this purpose.
• Emitters can be attached without the docking station. Use an extra
adhesive strip (included) applied directly to the flat side of the emitter.
• Use a new adhesive strip when re-attaching docking ports or emitters.
• The outer shell of the IRE2 is transparent to IR so that hand-held
remotes can be used even if the emitter is covering the component’s
IR sensor.
