1.0 OVERVIEW
The DA210 is an audio distributor that permits the distribution of a balanced stereo audio
signal towards six destinations. The product, which consists of a plug-in, can be inserted
in the Elpro DVR-MV/RK 19" 2RU rack.
Like all Elpro plug-ins, the DA210 is self-powered and consists of two parts:
-The actual plug-in that can be inserted in the rack from the front;
-The rear box, called BC210, that can be fastened with two screws in the rear part of the
rack.
The video inputs of the DA210 are differential in order to guarantee immunity to induced
common mode disturbances. The outputs are electronically balanced.
The DA210 is complete with a jumper on the rear box for ground connection of the earth.
The output level of the LEFT and RIGHT signals is adjustable by ± 6 dB; using an internal
jumper type preset, the gain of the distributor can be set to +20, +10, 0 and -10 dB.

2.0 FRON PANEL
The following are provided on the front panel of the
DA210:
2.1 Left LEVEL trimmer for calibration of the output
signals of the left-hand channel.
2.2 Right LEVEL trimmer for calibration of the output
signals of the right-hand channel.
2.3 Green ON light
3.0 INSTALLATION
3.1 Insert the rear box BC210 in the rear part of the DVR-MV/RK rack, supporting the
Phoenix type detachable terminals with the two screws provided.
Insert the DA210 plug-in in the front part of the rack fastening it with the two pawls
already screwed to the front panel of the plug-in.
3.2 Connect the DVR-MV/RK rack to the 230 Vac 50Hz mains supply
WARNING
Ground connection to the yellow/green (Y/G) wire
of the cable leading out of the rack is compulsory.
The green ON light on all the plug-ins inserted in the rack must light up.
WARNING
The DVR-MV/RK rack accepts any Elpro plug-in
that is compatible with the rack.

3.3 Connect the stereo source to be distributed to
the IN five-pin terminal.
The connection must be made using 2 shielded
pairs complying with the LEFT and RIGHT
indications and phases aand b.
The shield of the two pairs must be connected to
ground which is the central terminal.
WARNING
Remember that, on a balanced signal,
phases a and b are both active.
If the user has an unbalanced source, connect the
hot pins on terminal aand the shield on terminal b
connected both to the central ground terminal.
3.4 Connect the six destinations to the 5-pin terminals OUT 1÷6 as described in point 3.3
If the user has a destination with unbalanced input, connect only the “a” terminal and the
ground (central terminal) leaving the “b” terminal free. In this case, 6 dB of signal are lost
that can be recovered using the trimmer on the front panel.
WARNING
In the case of destinations with unbalanced input, terminal b
can be used to power a second destination
transforming the DA210 into a 1X12 distributor

4.0 READ-OUTS AND ADJUSTMENTS
If the green light on the front panel of the DA210 is ON, this indicates that the correct
power voltage is present inside.
4.1 Output level adjustment
The adjustments affect all the output signals.
a) Adjustment with the front trimmers :+6 dB (fully clockwise);
-6 dB (fully counterclockwise)
b) Selection of the global gain of the distributor. This is selected using separate
jumpers for the Left and Right
channels. The jumpers are
fitted on the printed circuit of
the plug-in and to access these
the plug-in must be extracted
from the rack and the
aluminum cover of the plug-in
must be removed.
The jumpers, separately for the
Left and Right channels, make
it possible to set the global gain
of the distributor to :
+20dB, +10dB, 0dB and -10dB.
The value 0dB, which is the default value, corresponds to an absolute gain of 1 i.e. the
same signal of the input is obtained in output. Correspondence between the value in dB
and the absolute value of the gain is illustrated below:
+20dB corresponds to a gain of 10 times
+10dB corresponds to a gain of 3 times
0dB corresponds to a gain of 1
-10dB corresponds to a loss of 70%
When shipped, the DA210 is set as follows:
-Trimmer left LEVEL : 0 dB
-Trimmer right LEVEL : 0 dB
-Internal jumper Right : 0 dB
-Internal jumper Left : 0 dB
Remember that 0dB corresponds to a gain of 1.

6.0 NOTES
This product is warranted for 2 years from the date of purchase.
If the fault in the product is due to improper use or operations
carried out by third parties, the warranty is forfeited.
During the warranty period, Elpro will repair the faulty units free of charge.
The faulty units must be sent CARRIAGE FREE to the Elpro offices in Turin with a regular
accompanying note.
The units repaired will be returned CARRIAGE FORWARD to the addressee.
Outside the warranty period, Elpro will repair the faulty units EX its Turin offices, charging
the cost of the repair to the customer.
