Chapter 1 Precision Air Conditioner Controller
Liebert.PEX+ AC uses PACC controller (“controller” for s ort ereafter), w ic as simple user interface and easy to
operate menu structure. T is c apter describes t e appearance, control key, indicators, control interface and menus of
t e controller.
1.1 Appearance
T e controller is s own in Figure 1-1. T e display board uses 240 X 128 dot-matrix blue backlig t LCD t at can display
words and drawings clearly.

1.2 Control Button
1.2.1 Function Description
T e controller provides five controls keys (see Figure 1-1), including ON/OFF, ESC, UP, DOWN and ENTER keys.
T eir detailed functions are listed in Table 1-1.

parameter setting.

ENTER Press t is key to enter t e next menu, or save t e setting after parameters are c anged.
DOWN
1) Press t is key to move down t e cursor or decrease t e value of t e displayed parameter during
parameter setting.
2) If t e menu is a toggle selection, pressing t e key can scroll t roug t e available options.
3) W en a menu is displayed on several screens, pressing t e key can scroll down.
ENTER + UP
1) It is a key combination. Press t e ENTER key, t en UP key, release t e UP key, t en ENTER key to
complete a key operation.
2) T e key combination is used to view t e state of previous air conditioner.
ENTER + DOWN
1) It is a key combination. Press t e ENTER key, t en DOWN key, release t e DOWN key, t en ENTER
key to complete a key operation.
2) T e key combination is used to view t e state of next air conditioner.
1.3 Indicator
T e controller provides two indicators: operation indicator and alarm indicator, as s own in Figure 1-1.T e functions
are described in Table 1-2.

1.4 Control Interface
T e LCD screen displays t e communication state after t e controller is powered on. If t e controller can not
communicate wit its target interface board, t e LCD screen will prompt Communication Failure. If t e
communication is normal, t e screen will display s utdown interface or main interface, w ic depends on w et er t e
air conditioner is on or off. T e control interface includes main interface, s utdown interface and password interface.
1.4.1 MAIN Interface
If t e air conditioner is powered on, after successful communication, t e main interface will appear, as s own in Figure
1-2. If no control key activity wit in 10min, t e controller will display a screen-saving state (t e back lig ting is off). In
t e main interface, press Enter to view main menu.
T e main interface provides t e following information: date, time, week day, display board and interface board
addresses, actual temperature, temperature set point, actual umidity, umidity set point, unit working icons (including
fan, cooling, umidifying, de umidifying, eating, general alarm, locking and on/off/standby state).

1.5 Main Menu
T e controller menus are constructed in a tree-like structure, as s own in Appendix 1 Menu Structure Figure of
PACC Controller (Standard Configuration).
After user starts up t e unit, in t e Main Interface, press Enter to access Password Interface, and t en enter t e
main menu and eac submenu to query, set or modify t e parameters.
Enter t e main menu interface, and operate according to t e following procedures:
1. Press t e ENTER key to access t e password interface screen;
2. Press t e ENTER key to ig lig t t e input data field in t e password interface;
3. Press t e UP or DOWN key to c ange t e current number;
4. Press t e Enter key to confirm t e password and enter t e Main Menu interface.
1.5.1 Submenu
1. T e Main Menu includes 10 sub-menus and is displayed on two screens, as s own in Figure 1-5.
2. T e menus are classified into user menus and professional maintenance menus wit two different
password-protected levels. User menus are described in 1.6.1 User Menu and professional maintenance menus are
described in 1.6.2 Professional Maintenance Menus.
3. Press Up and Down in Main Menu to select submenus and press Enter to access t e maintenance level submenu.

Settin parameters of submenus
Press Up or Down to move t e cursor to t e submenu to be selected, w en t e cursor is in t e selected menu, a black
dot is displayed on t e left side of t e menu. At t is time, press Enter to access t e submenu or set t e parameters of
t is menu. T e menu is classified into t e menu wit settable parameter or t e menu wit non-settable parameter. For
t e setting ranges of t e settable menu items, refer to Appendix 3 Parameter Setting Table.
T e parameter setting operation is as follows wit ig temperature alarm control menu as an example:
1. Press Up or Down in Main Interface to move cursor to Alarm Menu.
2. Press Enter to enter t e Alarm Menu interface.

3. Press Up or Down in Alarm Menu to move cursor to Alarm Control Menu.
4. Press Enter to enter Alarm Control Menu.
5. Press Up or Down in Alarm Control Menu to move cursor to Hi h TEMP Alarm
6. Press Enter to ig lig t parameter bit of Hi h TEMP Alarm.
7. Press Up or Down to select parameter.
8. After selecting parameter, press Enter to confirm and validate t e parameter.
9. Press ESC to back to t e ig er level menu interface.
 Note
After changing the para eter, if you do not press Enter to confir , High TEMP Alarm will keep the original para eter value.
1.6 Submenu
1.6.1 User Menu Introduction
User menu are t e menus for user to query or set parameters. T e user menu function is described in Table 1-5.

1.6.2 Professional Maintenance Menu Introduction
T e professional maintenance menus are used to guide maintenance personnel to query t e running status; Set
running parameters and troubles oot t e unit. T e submenus and functions are described in Table 1-6.

1.6.3 Alarm Menu
Press Up and Down in Main Menu 1/2 to move cursor to Alarm Menu and press Enter to access t e Alarm Menu
interface. T is menu as five submenus as s own in Figure 1-6.

Alarm status
T is menu is used to record all active alarm events, including Active Alarms (total alarm number), ALM (alarm SN.
and alarm type), and Time (alarm occurred time and resolved time), as s own in Figure 1-7.T e controller can save up
to 100 alarm status records.

 Note
The alar status records will be cleared auto atically upon power failure.
Alarm History
T is alarm interface is used to query t e istory alarm records, including Current Alarms (total alarm number), ALM
(alarm SN. and alarm type), and Time (alarm occurred time and resolved time) as s own in Figure 1-8.

 Note
When several alar s are generated, the alar with biggest alar SN is the latest alar , and you can press the UP or DOWN key
to scroll through the alar s. The controller can store up to 200 history alar records. They will not be cleared upon power
failure.
Alarm Reset
T e Alarm Reset menu is s own in Figure 1-9. T is menu is used to clear some important alarm status. T e menu
items can be set to YES or NO (default). If t e Reset HP1 Alarm menu item is set to YES, after HP1 alarm is
generated, its corresponding record in t e Alarm Status menu will be cleared.

Alarm Output
T e settings of t e Alarm Output menu will not be lost w en t e power fails. You can browse and set all menu items.
For detailed submenus, refer to Appendix 2 Alarm Output Menu Table.
T e Alarm Output menu is displayed in 12 screens. Press t e UP or DOWN button to select t e required submenu
item. Taking t e first screen as an example, t e menu interface is s own in Figure 1-10.

T e menu items can be set to En, Ms or Dis
 En: W en an alarm is generated, t e Alarm Status menu will pop up wit a buzzer sound and general alarm
output. You also can find t e alarm record in t e Alarm Status and Alarm History menu.
 Msg: W en an alarm is generated, you can find alarm record in t e Alarm Status and Alarm History menu. No
any prompt exits.
 Dis: W en an alarm is generated, no record and prompt will appear.
Alarm Settin
T e alarm set point menu is s own in Figure 1-11.T e settings of t e Alarm Set Point menu will not be lost upon
power failure.

1.6.4 Temp/Hum Setting
Press Up and Down in Main Menu 1/2 to move cursor to Temp/Hum Settin and press Enter to access t e
Temp/Hum Settin interface, as s own in Figure 1-12.

conditioner is working and t eir sensitivities.

1.6.5 System Status
Select Main Menu 1/2 -> System Status to enter t e System Status menu, as s own in Figure 1-13. You can browse
t e input status, output status, and power status of t e air conditioner components or set t e Customer Input Status
items.

Input Status
T e Input Status menus are displayed on five screens. Press t e UP or DOWN key to select t e required menu item.
Taking t e first screen as an example, t e interface appears as s own in Figure 1-15. For detailed menus, refer to
Appendix 1 Menu Structure.
