Warnings
WARNING
To avoid risk of electric shock, do not set up this product or handle cables during
a thunderstorm.
Never insert or disconnect the power plug with wet hands.

Use of this product on aircraft may be restricted in some countries.

CAUTION
The OT-WL01 is only for indoor use.
The OT-WL01 should only be used for EPSON TM-i series and TM-DT.
If it is installed on another device, it may result in computer failure, damage, or
malfunctions.
To comply with RF exposure compliance requirements, a distance of at least 20
cm must be maintained at all times between the antenna of OT-WL01 and people in
the vicinity.
Do not store in locations with high temperatures or high humidity.
It may in particular be damaged or deformed if left in a vehicle with the windows shut, or
placed in locations with unusually high temperatures for extended periods such as in
direct sunlight.
Do not wet the OT-WL01.
This may cause malfunctions to occur.
Do not use near microwave ovens.
Wireless communication may be interrupted by electromagnetic interference generated

Notes on Security when Using Wireless LAN
(Important informationoncustomer rights (maintaining privacy)
The advantage of using a wireless LAN over a LAN cable is that, because informationis
exchanged using radio signals, youcaneasily connectto the network if youare within range of
the radio signals. A disadvantage of this is thatwithin a certain range, the electromagnetic
signals canpass through barriers such as walls, so thatif security countermeasures are not
implemented in some way, problems such as the following may occur.
•Communicationdata canbe intercepted
A third party may be able to receive wireless transmissions without authorization, and they
could obtain personal informationfrom these transmissions such as IDs, passwords, or credit
card numbers, or they could interceptthe contents of personal e-mail messages.
•Unauthorized access to the network
A third party could access anindividual or intra-company network without permissionand
carry out any of the following activities.
Retrieve personal data or other secret information (information leakage)
Pose as another user and send inappropriate data (impersonation)
Overwrite the contents of intercepted data and resend it (falsification)
Introduce a computer virus which could cause data loss or system crashes (damage)
Initially, the possibility thatsuch problems could occur through settings concerning the
security of the wireless LAN productand by using the productare decreased, because the
wireless LAN card and the access point have security measures to deal with these problems.
We recommend thatyouuse this productafter making security settings using our own
judgement and assuming full responsibility, and with your full understanding of problems
thatmay occur if youdo notmake any security settings.
Notes on Setting SSID (Service Set Identifier)
For protectionof security, note the following precautions whensetting the SSID.
•Change the SSID from the defaultsetting.
•Donotsettexts by which the owner canbe identified as the SSID.

Product Overview
This chapter describes features and general specifications of the product.
Features
TM-H6000IV-DT has the functionto seamlessly connectPOS peripheral devices and server
services. By using TM-H6000IV-DT, the users canconstructPOS solutions of the nextgeneration
thathave excellent connectivity and services.
•Thecontroller has the PC architecture thatuses IntelAtomTM processor.
•TheOSemploysWindows Embedded POSReady 7 and provides functionality as a Windows
computer.
•Youcanconnectexternal devices with USB connections and serial connections (LCD unit with
touch panel, keyboard, MSR, etc.).
•Built-in SATA HDD. Youcanuse it with POS applications or databases.
•Equipped with 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX / 1000BASE-T LAN communicationcapability as
standard. As anoptional feature, it canalso supportwireless LAN.
•Equipped with Powered USB 12 V x 3 ports as standard.
•Communicationbetweenapplications is enabled by the functionof communicationbox.
•Youcanprint directly or control POS peripherals from the Web application. (ePOS-Device
API).
• Web applicationis available for server-side scripting (Perl or php). And youcanalso use
SQLite database.
•IfWebcontents are placed onthis product's Web server, youcanperiodically acquire the
contents from a separate server. (Automatic update of Web content)
•Youcanprint directly or control POS peripherals from native applications (mobile terminals)
for iOS and Android. (ePOS-Device XML).
•Youcanuse the pre-installed software required for the Thin-Client environment as the virtual
desktop / applicationclient and printer.

Slip printing
•The printer includes a Magnetic Ink Character Recognition(MICR) reader and an
endorsement printer (E/P).
•High throughput using bidirectional minimum distance printing.
•Amechanical form stopper gives stability to slip paper.
•Opening the front carriage unit makes removing jammed paper easy.
Receipt printing
•High speed receiptprinting is possible.
•Graphics are also printed with high-speed printing.
•Multi-tone graphics printing is possible.
•Barcodeand two-dimensional symbol printing is possible.

PC-POS System
Youcanconfigure a simple POS system by installing POS applications and connecting a display
with a touch panel and a barcode scanner to the TM-H6000IV-DT.
The OS is based onWindows and includes HDD. Youcaninstall the Windows driver (APD) and
the UPOS driver.
Youcanalso transfer the conventional Windows-based PC-POS system as it is.
This saves onsystem installationfees, saves space, and increases its maintainability.

Printing and controlling POS peripherals from the Web application
ePOS-Device API is supported. Youcanprint or control devices (display onthe customer display
or input/output from the POS peripherals) from the Web application.
Youcancontrol the customer display, barcode scanner, USB devices, or the serial device from the
same API system. Also, youcancustomize the API and send and receive device commands.
Youcancontrol it from the Web browser ona computer, smartphone or tabletterminal.

Communication between applications
This functionis supported by ePOS-Device API / ePOS-Device XML. Communicationbetween
applications is enabled by the functionof communicationbox.
•ePOS-Device API
Supports communicationbetweenweb applications. Enables communicationbetweenweb
applications ondevices such as a smartphone and tabletterminal.
•ePOS-Device XML
Enables communicationfrom the applicationona device such as a smartphone and tablet
terminal to the applicationonanother terminal via TM-DT.

Printing and controlling POS peripherals from an application on a
tablet terminal
ePOS-Device XML is supported. Youcanprint or control devices (display onthe customer
display or input / output from the POS peripherals) from a tabletterminal application. Youcan
control the customer display, barcode scanner, USB devices or serial devices from the same
system.
Also, youcancustomize it and send and receive device commands. Youcancontrol it from the
applicationona smartphone or tabletterminal with socketcommunication.
For anenvironment thatcanuse HTTP communicationand canhandle XML, youcancontrol the
device from the OS applicationwith socketcommunication.
