Console Setup Instructions
Get the maximum video performance from the Xbox One S on the
Epson Pro Cinema 4040, 6040UB, and
Home Cinema 5040UB, 5040UBe Projectors

Step 1
Physical Connections
•Connect the Xbox (HDMI OUT) to the Epson (HDMI INPUT 1)
with a 4K capable HDMI cable

Configuration Resets
•The following instructions assume both the Epson Projector and Xbox
One S are using factory default settings.
•After the Xbox initial setup steps, reset the video output of the Xbox.
•**Make note of any custom settings to the
projector, as this reset will remove them.
•To reset the Epson Projector:
•Select “Reset All Config” from the
projectors internal menu on the “Reset”
menu tab.

Configure the Xbox
•Power On the Xbox and wait
for the Home Screen to load.
•Navigate “LEFT” to bring up
the sidebar menu.
•Navigate “DOWN” till you get
to the “Settings” tab.

•Press “A” to access the
“Settings” menu
•Highlight the “All Settings”
Option
•Press “A” to enter the “All
Settings” menu
•Navigate down to the “Display
& Sound” option
•Press “A” to enter the “Display
& Sound” sub menu

•Highlight “Video Output”
•Press “A” to enter the “Video
Output” menu
•Highlight the “TV Resolution”
option

•Press “A” to open the “TV
Resolution” sub menu
•Highlight the “4K UHD” option
•Press “A” to select this option
•Navigate right to the “Color
Depth” option
•Press “A” to select this option
•Highlight “36 bits per pixel (12-
bit)” option
•Press “A” to select this option

•Select “Advanced Video
Settings”
•Press “A” to enter the
Advanced Video Settings sub
menu
•Ensure all of the boxes are
checked as shown here
•Press “B” to exit this menu and
return to the Video Output
menu

Configure the Xbox (cont…)
•Color Space should be set to “Standard”
•Exit out of the settings menu all the way
back to the home screen
•The image will blank out momentarily as
the options are saved and updated
•Check your settings:
•With the Epson remote, press “Menu”
•Navigate to the “Info” tab on the left
•Select “Projector Information”
•Settings should appear as shown

Your Xbox One S is now tuned for maximum video performance
on your Epson 4040, 6040UB, 5040UB, or 5040UBe projector
