1.4.2 Important notes
All other people must observe the following instructions:
Danger of skinand eye injuries or skin diseases!
The skincan become sunburnt when exposedto excessive radiation.
Excessive,frequently repeatedUV radiation exposure from natural sun-
lightor UV devices canresult in premature ageing of the skin and an in-
creased risk ofskin tumours.
Particular caution isadvisable for individuals who are especially sensitive
to UVradiation, and when certainmedicaments or cosmetics are used.
Seek medicaladvice without fail if in doubt!
UV devices should notbe used withoutmedical advice ifunexpected
manifestations such asitching occur within 48 hours of firstusing the
sunbed.
Increasing tanning requires increased exposure time(= radiation time) or
after a certain degree of tanninghas been achieved, increased tanning is
notpossible. However, the radiation time maynot be extended asdesired
within the scope of thepermissible radiation doses! Therefore, only a cer-
tain level of final tanning, which depends on the skin type,can be
achieved withoutendangering your health.
The tanningdevice may never be usedwhen a filter panel is missingor
damaged, or the timer is defective!
Remove cosmeticsbefore tanning and donot use sun screen products.
Behaviour before, during and after a sunbath:
During thetanning session no other peoplemay remain in the cabin,in
particular nochildren.
Remove alljewellery (includingpiercings) before the tanning session.
Do notuse any products intended to accelerate tanning.
UV light can causeirreversible skin or eyedamage. Theunprotected eye
can become inflamed on the surface, andin certain cases the retina can
be damaged byexcessive radiation.Cataractscan form after numerous
repeated tanning sessions. Use the UV-impermeable protective gog-
gles provided (order no. 84592-..). Contactlenses and sun glasses are
no substitutes for protectiveglasses.
Protect sensitive skinareas such as scars, tattoos andgenitals before
tanning.
Observe the recommended tanningtimes.
During atanning session the quantity of radiationwhichresults in the skin
reddening (MED,minimumerythema dose) may not beexceeded. If red-
dened skin occurs around 16-24 hours after the tanningsession youmay
not use the tanning device again for one week. After one week you can
start againfrom the beginning with the first tanningsession in accordance
with thetanning table.
The time between thefirst two sessions on the sunbedmust be atleast
48 hours! Donot take an additionalsunbath on the same day.
See a doctor if stubborn swelling, sores or pigmented moles form on the
skin.
