Installation
1 Unpack
Check that the delivered items correspond to
the packaging list.
Examine the box and the RBS for damage.
For more information, refer to the document
Handling Faulty Equipment.
2 Scan Barcode 3 Install SFP Module
Scan the barcode on the back of the RBS
with a smartphone using the ENIS Android
application.
If applicable, insert the SFP module in the port
marked WAN B.

1. Protect the RBS and cables from dust by keeping them in the box when drilling.
2. Put the drilling template on the wall and ensure that it is straight by using a spirit level. Make
sure that the entire drilling template fits on the wall without it folding around any corners.
3. Drill the three holes marked on the drilling template.
4. Attach the two upper screws in positions to hang the mounting bracket.
5. Attach and fasten the mounting bracket to the wall using a screwdriver.
The RBS can be installed horizontally on ceilings, see Appendix A for more information.
The RBS can be installed with the external antenna adapter, see Appendix C for
more information.

5 Attach RBS to Bracket

1. Close the cable strain relief
2. Hang the RBS loosely on the mounting bracket hooks.
3. Attach the RBS to the bracket by gently pushing the bottom of the RBS toward the bracket
until it locks.
4. Fasten the RBS to the mounting bracket, by tightening the screws to 2.0 Nm.

6 Connect Cables
POWER
1. Use one of the three connection options:
• WAN A – Connect the RJ-45 cable for Ethernet transmission.
• DSL – Connect the RJ-45 cable for VDSL2 transmission.
• WAN B – Connect the Ethernet optical cable.
2. Connect the external antenna cables on top of the RBS; see step 7 in
Appendix C for more information.
3. Connect the external alarm cable to the port marked EXT ALARM; see
Appendix B for more information.
4. Connect the GPS cable to the round socket in the middle marked with
a circle.
5. Connect the AC power cable to the AC power connector. Attach the
cable strain relief. Only connect the power cable when all other cables
have been connected.
DANGER
Equipment must be connected
to an earthed mains socket
outlet. Failure to do so could
result in death or injury.
WARNING
Never look directly into the end
of a fiber optic cable or other
laser source as it can cause
eye damage.
NOTE
Always clean optical cable connectors before connecting them.

7 Route Cables
Route all cables through the cable holders on the left hand side of the RBS.
Group the cables with cable ties where needed.
8 Verify 9 Clean Up
Confirm that the green operational
indicator is on and that no alarms are
active. In case of error, refer to the
document Handling Faults On-Site.
Remove the drilling
template.
Dispose of waste according
to local regulations.

Appendix A – Ceiling Installation and Working at Heights
When installing the RBS
horizontally on a ceiling,
the ceiling plate must be
installed between the ceiling
and the mounting bracket.
Use appropriate safety
equipment, such as helmet
and harness.
Optical cables are fragile so lift with
care. Do not attach a pulling wire
directly to the optical cable, rather;
attach the pulling wire to a loop and
use the loop to lift the cable.

1. Put the drilling template on the ceiling and ensure that it is straight. Make sure that the entire
drilling template fits on the ceiling without it folding around any corners.
2. Drill the three holes marked on the drilling template.
3. Attach the two upper screws in positions to hang the ceiling plate and the mounting bracket.

4. Remove the adhesive paper strips from the ceiling plate and attach the mounting bracket.
5. Hang the ceiling plate and the mounting bracket on the two screws.
6. Attach the third screw and tighten all the screws using a screwdriver.

Appendix B – Install Alarm Cable

1. Strip the insulation from the alarm cable and twin the wires in pairs, as shown in the illustration
above.
2. Connect each wire to the 6x2 pole alarm connector. The illustration shows how the wire-pairs
connect to the alarm connector.
3. Connect the alarm connector to the RBS.
4. Fasten the screws with a slot headed screwdriver 2.5x5.0 mm.

Appendix C – Install External Antenna

1. Remove the front cover by pulling one side upward. Use protective gloves when removing
the front cover.
2. Remove the two black pieces of tape at the top edge inside the RBS, and, with a screwdriver,
break the two aluminium knock outs.
3. Insert two external antenna adapter cables through the holes, and attach the adapter to the
top edge of the RBS by gently pushing it toward the RBS.

4. Connect the two external antenna adapter cables to the connectors inside the RBS.
5. Place the unused internal antenna cables as shown in illustration 5.
6. Attach the front cover to the RBS by gently pushing it toward the RBS.

7. When connecting the cables in section 6. Use the torque wrench with the fastening bit to
connect the external antenna cables to the N connectors at the top of the RBS. Tighten to 1.7 Nm.
