Turvallinen käyttötapa
Koulutus
Lue käyttöohjeet huolellisesti läpi ennen tämän koneenkäyttöä.
Valmistelu
1) Älä anna lasten tai vajaakuntoisten käyttää tätä konetta;
2) Älä käytä tätä konetta sivullisten henkilöiden läheisyydessä;
3) Älä liitä viallista virtajohtoa virransyöttöön tai koskettele viallista virtajohtoa
ennen kun se on irrotettu virransyötöstä. Viallinen virtajohto voi aiheuttaa
kosketuksen jännitteellisiin osiin, sähköiskuvaara.
4) Käytä kuulosuojaimia ja suojalaseja aina koneen käytön aikana;
5) Älä käytä roikkuvaa, löysää tai naruilla varustettua vaatetusta tai solmioita;
6) Käytä konetta vain avoimessa tilassa (esim. poissa seinien tai muiden
kiinteiden kohteiden läheisyydestä) ja tasaisella ja vakaalla pinnalla.
7) Älä käytä konetta kivetyillä tai sorapinnoilla, missä koneesta sinkoileva
materiaali voi aiheuttaa tapaturmia;
8) Tarkasta ennen koneen käynnistämistä, että kaikki ruuvit, mutterit, pultit ja
muut kiinnikkeet ovat luotettavasti kiristettynä paikalleen ja että kaikki suojat
ja ristikot ovat paikallaan. Vaihda vaurioituneet tai lukukelvottomat huomio- ja
varoitustarrat;
Käyttö
1) Tarkasta ennen koneen käynnistämistä, että syöttösäiliö on tyhjä;
2) Pidä kasvosi ja kehosi kaukana syöttöaukosta;
3) Älä laita käsiäsi, muita kehon osia tai vaatteita syöttösäiliön sisäpuolelle,
poistokouruun tai minkä tahansa liikkuvan ja pyörivän osan läheisyyteen;
4) Säilytä hyvä asento ja tasapaino koko työsuorituksen ajan. Älä ylikurkottele.
Kun syötät materiaalia koneeseen, älä koskaan seiso korkeammalla tasolla
koneen alustaan nähden;
5) Seiso aina kaukana materiaalin poistokourun alueelta konetta käyttäessäsi;
6) Kun syötät materiaalia koneeseen, tarkasta huolellisesti, etteivät syötettävät
kappaleet sisällä metallia tai kiviä. Älä syötä koneeseen pulloja, kanistereita
tai mitä tahansa muita ulkopuolisia kohteita;
7) Jos teriin kohdistuu iskuja mistä tahansa ulkopuolisesta kohteesta, tai jos
kone pitää epätavallisen kovaa melua tai tärinää, sammuta moottori ja anna
sen pysähtyä täydellisesti. Irrota kone päävirransyötöstä ja noudata seuraavia
vaiheita:

Tarkasta vauriot;
Tarkasta kaikkien kiinnikkeiden kireys;
Vaihda tai korjaa kaikki vaurioituneet osat vastaavien alkuperäisosien
määrittelyjen mukaisesti.
8) Älä päästä materiaalia kerääntymään poistokourun alueelle; tämä voi estää
materiaalin poiston ja aiheuttaa materiaalin takaiskuja ja sinkoiluja
syöttöaukon kautta;
9) Jos kone on tukossa, sammuta moottori ja irrota kone päävirransyötöstä
ennen tukoksien poistamista. Pidä moottori puhtaana liasta tai muista
kerääntymisistä mahdollisen moottorivaurion tai tulipalon välttämiseksi.
Muista, että moottorikäyttöisten koneiden käynnistysmekanismien toiminta voi
aiheuttaa terien liikkumisen;
10) Pidä kaikki suojat ja ohjaimet paikallaan ja hyvässä käyttökunnossa;
11) Älä kuljeta tai siirtele tätä konetta moottorin ollessa käynnissä;
12) Jos poistut työalueelta, sammuta virta ja irrota kone päävirransyötöstä;
13) Älä kallistele tätä konetta moottorin ollessa käynnissä;
14) Pidä jatkojohdot kaukana oksasilppurin osista. Oksasilppurin osat voivat
aiheuttaa johtoihin kohdistuvia vaurioita, ja aiheuttaa kosketuksen
jännitteellisiin osiin, sähköiskuvaara.
Huolto ja säilytys
1) Kun kone on sammutettu huoltoa, tarkastusta, säilytystä tai osien vaihtoa
varten, sammuta moottori, irrota kone päävirransyötöstä ja varmista, että
kaikki liikkuvat osat ovat pysähtyneet täydellisesti ja, jos kone on varustettu
avaimella, poista avain. Anna koneen jäähtyä ennen minkään tarkastuksen,
säädön tms. suorittamista.
2) Anna koneen jäähtyä aina ennen sen asettamista säilytykseen;
3) Ole varovainen terien kunnossapidon aikana, koska vaikka moottori ei
käynnisty suojien suojalukitusominaisuuksien johdosta, terät voivat silti liikkua
manuaalisen käynnistysmekanismin toimesta.
4) Pidä moottorin ilmanvaihtoaukot puhtaana liasta ja muista kerääntymistä
mahdollisen moottorivaurion tai tulipalon välttämiseksi.
5) Käytettäessä jatkojohtoa, huomioi, että se ei saa olla teholtaan heikompi kuin
laitteeseen jo kiinnitetty syöttöjohto.
6) Tarkasta säännöllisesti syöttöjohto ja mikä tahansa jatkojohto mahdollisia
vaurioita ja kulumista vastaan. Älä käytä konetta jos johdot ovat vialliset.
7) Älä koskaan yritä ohittaa sisäistä suojien suojalukitusominaisuutta.
VAROTOIMENPITEET JA TURVALLISUUSOHJEET
VAROITUS! Noudata perusvarotoimenpiteitä sähkökäyttöisten puutarhakoneiden
käytön aikana tulipalon, sähköiskun ja henkilökohtaisten tapaturmien
välttämiseksi.
TÄRKEÄÄ – Turvallisuus, terveys ja ympäristö
Koneemme turvallinen käyttö on mahdollista vain seuraavien turvallisuus- ja
käyttöohjeiden lukemisen ja noudattamisen jälkeen.
Lue kaikki ohjeet ennen koneen käyttöä ja säilytä käyttöohjeet myöhempiä
tarpeita varten.
Tarkasta seuraavat alapuolella kuvatut kohteet ennen koneen käyttöä:
1. Pistokkeen tai pistorasian verkkojohdon eristyskerros on luotettavasti kiinni
johdossa.
2. Jatkojohdon eristyskerros on eheä.
3. Virtajohto liikkuu turvallisesti vaurioiden tai vahingollisen irtoamisen
välttämiseksi.
4. Virtajohto on täysin suoristettu kelalta ylikuumentumisen välttämiseksi.
VAROITUS: Lue käyttöohjeet huolellisesti, tutustu laitteiston
käyttölaitteisiin ja sen oikeaan käyttötapaan ennen oksasilppurin käyttöä.
VAROITUS: Pidä kädet, jalat, hiukset ja vaatetus kaukana oksasilppurin
liikkuvista ja pyörivistä osista.
Takertumisvaara: Tietyt kohteet voivat takertua oksasilppurin liikkuviin
osiin. Pidä sivulliset kaukana koneesta ja sen käyttöalueelta.
Älä kurkottele syöttö- tai poistoaukkoon. Terien pyörimisliike jatkuu n. 5
sekunnin ajan moottorin sammutuksen jälkeen.
VAROITUS: Älä koskettele virtajohtoa, jos se vaurioituu käytön aikana.
Irrota virtapistoke välittömästi koneen virransyötöstä tai irrota kone
päävirransyötöstä myös, jos se ei ole käytössä tai koneeseen
suoritettavan työn aikana (esim. osien vaihto, korjaukset, puhdistus ja
säädöt).
VAROITUS: Käytä aina suojalaseja, kuulosuojaimia ja suojakäsineitä.
VAROITUS: Älä käytä oksasilppuria sateella tai kosteissa olosuhteissa.
Suojaa kone kosteudelta.
Äänentehotaso
Melutasokoodi on standardin EN13683 mukainen: 2003 Liite F.

Huomautus
Sähköisessä AC-VIRRANSYÖTÖSSÄ voi olla jännitepiikkejä tätä konetta
käytettäessä. Tämä voi heijastua muihin laitteisiin (esim. valojen vilkkuminen).
Jos AC-VIRRANSYÖTÖN impedanssi Zmax on alhaisempi kuin 0.40 0HM 50 Hz
taajuudella, nämä häiriöt ovat odotettavissa. Tarvittaessa voit ottaa yhteyden
paikalliseen sähköverkkotoimittajaasi ja kysyä lisätietoja.
Käytä ulkokäyttöön soveltuvia jatkojohtoja
Kun konetta käytetään ulkona, käytä ainoastaan ulkokäyttöön soveltuvia
hyväksynnällä merkittyjä jatkojohtoja.
Pidä työalue siistinä
Epäsiistit ja sekaiset alueet ovat otollisia tapaturmille.
Huomioi työalueen ympäristö
Älä altista työkaluja sateelle.
Älä käytä sähkökäyttöisiä työkaluja kosteissa tai märissä olosuhteissa.
Pidä työalue hyvin valaistuna.
Älä käytä sähkökäyttöisiä työkaluja tulipalo- tai räjähdysalttiissa paikoissa.
Suojaus sähköiskua vastaan
Vältä kehokosketusta maadoitettuihin pintoihin kuten putkiin, johtoihin jne.
Pidä lapset ja lemmikkieläimet kaukana työalueelta
Älä salli sivullisten koskettaa työkalua tai jatkojohtoa. Kaikkien sivullisten
henkilöiden tulisi pysytellä kaukana työalueelta.
Säilytä työkalua oikein
Kun työkalua ei käytetä, sitä tulisi säilyttää kuivassa, korkeassa ja lukitussa
paikassa, lasten ulottumattomissa.
Käytä oikeaa työkalua
Älä suorita työtä pienellä työkalulla tehokkaan työkalun sijasta. Älä käytä tätä
työkalua sen tarkoituksen vastaisella tavalla.
Pukeudu sopivalla tavalla
Älä käytä roikkuvaa vaatetusta tai koruja, jotka voivat takertua koneen liikkuviin ja
pyöriviin osiin. Suosittelemme käyttämään ulkona suojakäsineitä ja luistamattomia
kenkiä. Käytä hiusverkkoa pitkien hiusten suojaamiseksi.
Käytä suojavarusteita
Käytä suojalaseja, kasvo- tai pölysuojainta pölyisissä olosuhteissa. Käytä
kuulosuojaimia jos työskentely on pitkäkestoista tai jos melutaso on korkea.
Älä käytä työkalua voimakeinoin
Työkalu suorittaa sille suunnitellut tehtävät paremmin ja turvallisemmin.
Lukitse työkalu
Käytä kiinnikkeitä tai puristimia työkalun pitämiseksi paikallaan. Tämä on
turvallisempi tapa kuin pitää koneesta kiinni käsillä, ja se antaa mahdollisuuden
molempien käsien käyttämiseen työtehtävissä.
Sijoita virtajohto oikein
Varmista, että virtajohto on sijoitettu niin, ettei sen päälle voida astua, se ei jää
puristuksiin tai sen päälle ei voi asettaa raskaita kohteita. Varmista, ettei virtajohto
pääse altistumaan mille tahansa vahingoille.
Älä käytä virtajohtoa väärin
Älä koskaan kuljeta työkalua vetämällä sitä virtajohdosta tai irrota virtajohtoa
pistorasiasta johdosta vetämällä. Säilytä virtajohto kaukana kuumuudesta, öljystä,
liuottimista ja terävistä reunoista.
Älä ylikurkottele
Säilytä hyvä asento ja tasapaino koko työsuorituksen ajan.
Pidä työkalusta hyvää huolta
Pidä työkalun terät terävinä ja puhtaana paremman suorituskyvyn ja
turvallisuuden takaamiseksi. Noudata voitelu- ja osien vaihto-ohjeita. Tarkasta
virtajohto säännöllisesti. Viallisen virtajohdon saa vaihtaa vain valtuutettu ja
pätevä huoltohenkilö. Tarkasta jatkojohto säännöllisesti ja vaihda vialliset johdot.
Pidä kätesi kuivana, puhtaana ja rasvattomina.
Tarkasta vialliset osat
Ennen koneen käyttöä, kone, suoja tai mikä tahansa viallinen osa tulisi tarkastaa
huolellisesti sen toimintakunnon määrittelemiseksi ja varmistamiseksi. Tarkasta
liikkuvien ja pyörivien osien kohdistus, niiden vapaa liike, osien mahdolliset
vauriot, asennus ja mitkä tahansa olosuhteet, jotka voivat heikentää työkalun
toimintaa. Mikä tahansa koneen viallinen suojus tai osa tulisi korjata tai vaihtaa
valtuutetun huoltoliikkeen toimesta, ellei tässä käyttöohjeessa ole muulla tavalla
kuvattu. Toimita vialliset kytkimet vaihdettavaksi valtuutettuun huoltoliikkeeseen.
Älä käytä työkalua jos virtakatkaisin ei toimi oikein ja tarkoituksenmukaisesti.
Työkalun virran katkaisu
Irrota työkalu virransyötöstä kun se ei ole käytössä, ennen sen huoltoa, ennen
osien vaihtoa kuten, terät ja leikkurit.

Kiinto- ja säätöavaimien poisto
Tee tarkastuksesta tapa, jotta huomaat onko säätöavaimet ja kiintoavaimet
poistettu työkalusta aina ennen sen käynnistämistä.
Vältä vahingossa tapahtuvaa käynnistämistä
Älä siirtele tai liikuta käynnissä olevaa työkalua tai painele sormillasi
virtakatkaisinta. Tarkasta, että virtakatkaisin on pois päältä ennen koneen
liittämistä virransyöttöön.
Pysy tarkkaavaisena
Tarkkaile, mitä olet tekemässä. Käytä maalaisjärkeä. Älä käytä työkalua
väsyneenä.
Varoitus!
Minkä tahansa, tässä käyttöohjeessa mainitsemattoman ja suosittelemattoman
lisävarusteen tai tarvikkeen käyttö voi aiheuttaa henkilökohtaisen tapaturman.
Toimita kone korjattavaksi valtuutetulle ja pätevälle huoltohenkilölle
Tämä sähkökäyttöinen työkalu noudattaa voimassa olevia turvallisuusmääräyksiä.
Korjaukset tulisi suorittaa vain pätevän ja valtuutetun huoltohenkilöstön toimesta
alkuperäisosia käyttämällä. Muussa tapauksessa voi seurauksena olla käyttäjään
kohdistuva vaaratilanne. Älä yritä avata työkalun koteloa. Työkalun virtajohto on
vaihdettava vain valtuutetun ja pätevän huoltoliikkeen toimesta.
Lisäturvallisuusohjeet
1. Syöttöjännitteen täytyy vastata koneen arvokilven määriteltyä jännitettä.
2. Suosittelemme, että kone varustetaan alle 30 mA laukaisuvirralla
varustetulla jäännösvirtalaitteella (RCD).
3. Jatkojohtoa käytettäessä, sen tyyppi on vähintään H07RN-F mukainen
kumieristyksellä varustettu joustava johto. Käytä aina mieluummin selkeästi
maastossa havaittavia kirkkaanvärisiä jatkojohtoja.
4. Tarkkaile, mitä olet tekemässä. Käytä maalaisjärkeä.
5. Ole varovainen kun terät ovat toiminnassa.
6. Älä käytä virtajohtoa väärin Älä koskaan siirtele oksasilppuria vetämällä sen
virtajohdosta. Säilytä virtajohto kaukana kuumuudesta, öljystä, liuottimista ja
terävistä reunoista. Varmista, että virtajohto on sijoitettu niin, ettei sen päälle
voida astua, se ei jää puristuksiin tai sen päälle ei voi asettaa raskaita
kohteita. Varmista, ettei virtajohto pääse altistumaan mille tahansa vaurioille.
7. Älä yritä avata koneen koteloa. Älä yritä muunnella konetta millään tavalla.
8. Virtajohto on vaihdettava vain valtuutetun ja pätevän huoltoliikkeen toimesta.
9. Älä käytä oksasilppuria, jos virtajohdot ovat vialliset tai kuluneet.
10. Älä liitä viallista virtajohtoa virransyöttöön tai koskettele viallista virtajohtoa
ennen kun se on irrotettu virransyötöstä. Viallinen virtajohto voi aiheuttaa
kosketuksen jännitteellisiin osiin, sähköiskuvaara.
11. Älä koskettele oksasilppurin osia ennen kuin kone on irrotettu
päävirransyötöstä ja koneen osat ovat pysähtyneet täydellisesti.
12. Pidä jatkojohdot kaukana koneen teristä ja osista. Oksasilppurin osat voivat
aiheuttaa johtoihin kohdistuvia vaurioita, ja aiheuttaa kosketuksen
jännitteellisiin osiin, sähköiskuvaara.
13. Irrota virtapisto pistorasiasta:
Aina kun kone jätetään ilman valvontaa.
Ennen tukoksen poistamista.
Ennen koneen tarkastamista, puhdistamista tai korjaamista.
Jos terät ovat altistuneet ulkopuolisille kohteille, tarkasta mahdolliset vauriot ja
suorita tarvittavat korjaukset.
Jos kone tärisee epänormaalilla tavalla.
Virtapistokkeen vaihto
Jos virtapistoke on vaurioitunut, se voidaan vaihtaa vain pätevän ja valtuutetun
sähköalan henkilön toimesta.
Älä koskaan käytä viallista tai epätäydellistä virtapistoketta.

17. Jos kone on tukossa, sammuta moottori ja anna terien pysähtyä täydellisesti.
Irrota virtapistoke päävirransyötöstä ennen tukoksien poistamista.
18. Pidä moottorin ilmanvaihtoaukot puhtaana liasta ja muista kerääntymistä
mahdollisen moottorivaurion tai tulipalon välttämiseksi.
19. Sammuta moottori, anna terien pysähtyä täydellisesti ja irrota virtapistoke
päävirransyötöstä jos poistut työalueelta.
20. Älä päästä materiaalia kerääntymään poistoalueelle; tämä voi estää
materiaalin poiston ja aiheuttaa materiaalin takaiskuja syöttöaukon kautta.
Koneenkäyttö
Oksasilppurin käynnistys ja sammutus
Käynnistä kone painamalla kytkin asentoon “1” ja sammuta painamalla kytkin
asentoon ”0”.
Jos kone ei toimi, tarkasta suojavaroke ja tarkasta, että kone on liitetty
päävirransyöttöön.
Kun moottori on käynnistynyt ja pyörinyt muutaman sekunnin ajan, voit aloittaa
silppuamisen.
Suojavaroke aktivoituu seuraavissa olosuhteissa:
a. Silputtu materiaali on kerääntynyt terien ympärille.
b. Jos silputtu materiaali on ylittänyt moottorin kapasiteetin.
c. Jos teriin kohdistuu liian paljon vastusta.
Jos suojavaroke on aktivoinut, sammuta oksasilppuri ja irrota se virransyötöstä.
a. Kierrä säätönuppia rungon pohjasta ja avaa rungon yläosa
b. Poista jäänteet tai esteet teräalueelta
c. Palauta rungon yläosa paikalleen ja kiristä säätönuppi
d. Anna moottorin jäähtyä muutaman minuutin ajan
e. Liitä kone takaisin virransyöttöön ja paina suojavaroketta.
f. Kun oksasilppuri on jälleen käyttövalmis, aseta kytkin asentoon ”1”.
Varoitus: ÄLÄ KOSKAAN löysää säätönuppia ilman, että ON/OFF-kytkin on
asetettu OFF-asentoon ja virtapistoke irrotettu pistorasiasta.
Varoitus: Oksasilppuri pysähtyy 5 sekunnin kuluessa sen sammuttamisesta.
Työntimen käyttö
Toimituksessa on mukana työnnin kookkaiden materiaalien työntämistä varten
syöttökouruun, kuten esim. pienet risut, lehdet, muut puutarhajätteet ja
vihannekset.
1. Aseta materiaali syöttösäiliöön.
2. Aseta työnnin syöttöaukkoon painamalla materiaalia kevyesti terälevyä
vasten.
3. Odota, kunnes materiaali on silputtu täysin ennen uuden materiaalin
lisäämistä.
HUOMAUTUS: Älä koskaan laita sormiasi syöttöaukkoon.
HUOMAUTUS: Älä koskaan käytä työnnintä ellei säiliö ole paikallaan.
HUOMAUTUS: Älä ylikurkottele
Silputun materiaalin kerääminen
Sammuta moottori ennen kerääjän kiinnitystä tai irrottamista.
Voit käyttää joko mukana toimitettua kerääjäpussia (jos toimituksessa), tai asettaa
oksasilppurin muovipeitteen päälle silputun materiaalin keräämiseksi.
Kerääjäpussia käytettäessä sinun on kiinnitettävä kerääjäpussin koukut
poistokourun sivuille.
Varoitus: Koneen rungon ilmanvaihtoaukkoja ei saa koskaan peittää
kerääjäpussilla tai silputulla materiaalilla.
Terien vaihto
1. Varmista, että moottori on sammutettu ja irrotettu päävirransyötöstä.
2. Irrota koneen yläosan kokoonpano kiertämällä säätönuppia auki ja
lukitsemalla kokoonpano koneen runkoon.
3. Terissä on kaksi leikkuureunaa. Kun terät kuluvat, ne voidaan kääntää toisen
leikkuureunan käyttämistä varten.
4. Suosittelemme käyttämään suojakäsineitä terien vaihdon aikana.
5. Lukitse terälevy kuusioavainta käyttämällä. Kierrä kaksi sisäpuolista
kuusiokantaruuvia auki ja pidä mielessäsi terien leikkuukulma.
6. Irrota terä ja käännä sitä 180 astetta. Kiinnitä terä terälevyyn varmistamalla,
että hiottu leikkuureuna osoittaa alaspäin.
7. Toista tämä toimenpide toiselle terälle.

Safe operating practices
Training
Become familiar with the owner’s manual before attempting to operate this
equipment.
Preparation
1) Do not allow children or disabled people to operate this equipment;
2) Do not operate this equipment in the vicinity of bystanders;
3) Do not connect a damaged cord to the supply or touch a damaged cord
before it is disconnected from supply. A damaged cord can lead to be
contacted with live parts.
4) Wear ear protection and safety glasses at all times while operating the
machine;
5) Avoid wearing clothing that is loose fitting or that has hanging cords or ties;
6) Only operate the machine in open space (e.g. not close to a wall or other
fixed object) and on a firm, level surface.
7) Do not operate the machine on a paved or gravel surface where ejected
material could cause injury;
8) Before starting the machine, check that all screws, nuts, bolts, and other
fasteners are properly secured and that guards and screens are in place.
Replace damaged or unreadable labels;
Operation
1) Before starting the machine, look into the feeding chamber to make certain
that it is empty;
2) Keep your face and body away from the feed intake opening;
3) Do not allow hands or any other part of the body or clothing inside the feeding
chamber, discharge chute, or near any moving part;
4) Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not overreach. Never stand
at a higher level than the base of the machine when feeding material into it;
5) Always stand clear of the discharge zone when operating this machines;
6) When feeding material into the machine be extremely careful that pieces of
metal, rocks, bottles, cans or other foreign objects are not included;
7) If the cutting mechanism strikes any foreign objects or if the machine should
start making any unusual noise or vibration, shut off the power source and
allow the machine to stop. Disconnect from supply and take the following
steps:
Inspect for damage;
Check for and tighten any loose parts;
Have any damaged parts replaced or repaired with parts having equivalent
specifications.
8) Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge zone; this may
prevent proper discharge and can result in kickback of material through the
feed intake opening;
9) If the machine becomes clogged, shut-off the power source and disconnect
from supply before clearing debris. Keep the power source clear of debris and
other accumulations to prevent damage to the powered source or possible
fire. Remember that operating the starting mechanism on engine powered
machines will still cause the cutting means to move;
10) Keep all guards and deflectors in place and in good working condition;
11) Do not transport this machine while the power source is running;
12) Shut off the power source and disconnect from supply whenever you leave
the work area;
13) Do not tilt the machine while the power source is running.
14) To keep extension cords away from the shredding means. The shredding
means can cause damage to the cords and lead to contact with live parts.
Maintenance and storage
1) When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection, or storage, or to
change an accessory, shut off the power source, disconnect from supply,
make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop and, where a
key is fitted remove the key. Allow the machine to cool before making any
inspections, adjustments, etc.
2) Always allow the machine to cool before storing;
3) When servicing the cutting means be aware that, even though the power
source will not start due to the interlock feature of the guard, the cutting
means can still be moved by a manual starting mechanism.
4) Keep the motor cooling vents clean of debris and other accumulations to
prevent damage to the motor or possible fire.
5) If an extension cord is used it shall not be of lighter grade than the supply
cord already fitted to the appliance.
6) Check the supply and any extension cord regularly for damage or signs of
ageing. Do not use the appliance, if the cords are damaged.
7) Never attempt to override the interlock feature of the guarding.

1. The sheathing of the flex in the plug or socket is securely gripped under the
cord grip.
2. There is no damage to the sheath of the extension lead.
3. The cable is run out safely to avoid damage or accidental tripping.
4. The lead is fully unwound from the reel to avoid overheating.
WARNING: Read the instructions carefully before using the shredder and
familiarize yourself with the controls and proper use of the equipment.
WARNING: Keep hands, feet, hair and clothing away from the moving
parts of the shredder.
There is a risk that some objects could be thrown out by the shredder.
Keep bystanders away.
Do not reach into the feed opening or the discharge chute. The blades
will continue to rotate for approx 5 seconds after it has been switched off.
WARNING: If the cord becomes damaged during use, do not touch.
Immediately disconnecting the plug from the supply or disconnect the
shredder from the mains supply also when not in use or during work on
the machine itself (e.g., changing parts, repairs, cleaning and
adjustment).
WARNING: Always wear safety glasses, ear muffs and protective gloves.
WARNING: Do not use the shredder in the rain or damp conditions.
Protect it from moisture.

Attention
The electrical AC MAINS SUPPLY may experience voltage drops when starting
this equipment. This can influence other equipment (e.g. blinking of a lights). If the
AC MAINS SUPPLY impedance Zmax is less than 0.40 0HM at 50Hz, such
disturbances are not expected. If necessary, you may contact your local supply
authority for further information.
Use outdoor extension leads
When this tool is used outdoors, use only extension cords intended for outdoor
use.
Keep work area clean
Cluttered and untidy areas invite injuries.
Consider work area environment
Do not expose power tool to rain.
Do not use power tools in damp or wet conditions.
Keep work areas well lit.
Do not use power tools where there is a risk of causing fire or explosion.
Guard against electric shock
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, e.g. pipes, cables etc.
Keep children and pets away from the work area
Do not let visitors touch the tool or extension cord. All visitors should be kept away
from the work area.
Store idle tool
When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry, high or locked up place, out of
reach of children.
Use the right tool
Do not force power tools or attachments to do the job of a heavy duty tool. Do not
use this tool for a purpose for which it is not intended.
Dress properly
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, they can be caught in moving parts. Gloves
and non-slip footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Wear protective
hair covering to contain long hair.
Use protective equipment
Use safety glasses, face or dust mask if the cutting operation is dirty. When using
for extended periods, or when the noise level is high, use hearing protection.
Do not force the tool
It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.

Secure tool
Use clamps or a vice to hold the tool, it is safer than using your hands and it frees
both hands to work on the tool.
Arrange cord
Ensure the cord is arranged so that it cannot be tripped over, stopped on or have
heavy weights rested on it and make sure that the cord will not be subjected to
any damage.
Do not abuse the cable
Never carry the tool by the cord or pull it to disconnect it from the socket. Keep
the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
Do not over reach
Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
Maintaining your tool
Keep cutting blade sharp and clean for better performance. Follow instructions for
lubrication and changing accessories. Inspect tool cable periodically and if
damaged have it repaired by an authorized service facility. Inspect extension
cable periodically and replace if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free from
oil and grease.
Check damaged parts
Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be
carefully checked to determine that it would operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, free running of moving
parts, damage to parts, mounting and any other conditions that may affect its
operation. A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or
replaced by an authorized service center unless otherwise indicated in this
instruction manual. Have defective switches replaced by an authorized service
facility. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
Disconnect tools
When not in use, before servicing and when changing accessories such as blades
and cutters, always ensure the machine is disconnected from the mains supply.
Removing keys and wrenches
Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed
from the tool before turning it on.
Avoid unintentional starting
Do not move a plugged-in tool with a finger on the switch. Ensure the switch is off
when plugging in.
Stay alert
Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate tool when you are
tired.

Have your tool repaired by a qualified person
This electric tool is in accordance with the relevant safety requirements. Repairs
should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts,
otherwise this may result in considerable danger to the user. Do not attempt to
open the casing of the tool. The power supply cord of the tool should be replaced
by an authorized service agent.
Additional safety advice
1. The supply voltage must correspond to the voltage specified on the
nameplate.
2. It is recommended that the shredder should be used with a Residual Current
Device (R.C.D.) with a tripping current of no more than 30mA.
3. Only use extension cables no lighter than rubber-insulated flexible cord
(H07RN-F). Preferably use brightly colored extension leads that are clearly
visible.
4. Watch what you are doing. Use common sense.
5. Take care when the blades are in operation.
6. Do not abuse the cable. Never move the shredder by the cable or pull the
cable to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil,
and sharp edges. Ensure that the cable is arranged so that it cannot be
tripped over, stepped on or have heavy weights rested on it. Make sure the
cable will not be subjected to any damage.
7. Do not attempt to open the casing of the machine. Do not attempt to modify
the machine in any way.
8. The supply cord should only be replaced by an authorized service agent.
9. Not to use the shredder, if the cords are damaged or worn.
10. Not to connect a damaged cord to the supply or touch a damaged cord before
it is disconnected from the supply. A damaged cord can lead to contact with
live parts.
11. Not to touch the shredding means before the machine is disconnected from
the supply and the shredding means have come to a complete stop.
12. To keep extension cords away from the shredding means. The shredding
means can cause damage to the cords and lead to contact with live parts.

3. Allow the cutting blades to reach full speed before feeding the material into
the in-feed chute.
4. Use the machine to shred the following materials only:
Twigs and branches (Max. diameter 40mm)
Waste from pruning bushes
Waste from trimming hedges
Plant material and other garden waste
Leaves and plant roots (remove soil from roots before shredding)
5. Do not fill soft waste such as kitchen rubbish into the shredder, but compost
them.
6. Feed the material to be shredded into the corner of the in-feed chute, if it is
not too bulky, the material will be drawn in by the blades.
7. Only insert as much material so that the in-feed chute will not be blocked up.
8. Warning: Long material extending out from the machine could lash out when
being drawn in by the blades. Please keep at safe distance.
9. Ensure the shredded material can fall freely from the discharge chute.
10. To make finer compost the shredded material can be shredded for a second
time.
11. Do not allow the shredded material to build up to a level where it blocks the
discharge chute. If the material builds up too far it could reach the cutting
blades and be thrown out of the in-feed chute.
12. Organic material contains a large amount of water and sap that can stick to
the shredder. To avoid this the material should be left for a few days to dry
out. Large branches however are best shredded when they are fresh.
13. If during cutting the blade stalls, stop the shredder immediately and
disconnect it from the mains supply before investigating the cause.
14. Remove any jammed debris from the blades and examine them for any
damage before re-commencing shredding.
15. If the blade has stalled for more than 5 seconds the safety overload switch will
operate and switch the machine off. Allow the machine to cool down for at
least 1 minute before re-starting. Push the overload switch first and then push
on the On/Off switch to re-start the machine.
16. If the cutting mechanism strikes any foreign object or if the appliance should
start making any unusual noise or vibration, immediately switch off and allow
the cutting means to stop. Pull the plug from the mains supply and take the
following steps:
i) Inspect for damage.
ii) Replace or repair any damage parts.
iii) Check for and tighten any loose parts.
17. If the appliance becomes clogged, switch off and allow the cutting means to
stop. Pull the plug from the mains supply before cleaning debris.
18. Keep the motor cooling vents clean of debris and other accumulations to
prevent damage to the motor or possible fire.
19. Switch off, allow the cutting means to stop and pull the plug from the mains
supply whenever you leave the work area.
20. Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge zone; this may
prevent proper discharge and can result in kickback of material through the
feed intake opening.
How do I operate this product?
Starting and Stopping the shredder
Press the switch marked “1” to start and marked “0” to stop the motor.
Press the “circuit breaker” button if the machine does not work, ensure you have
connected to the power supply.
When the motor has been running for a few seconds you can commence
shredding.
The circuit breaker will be activated in the following circumstances:
a. A build up of shredded material around the cutting disc.
b. If the material being shredded is greater than the motor capacity.
c. Where there is too much resistance against the cutting blade.
When the circuit breaker has been activated switch-off the shredder and
disconnect the power supply.
a. Unscrew the reamer knob at the base of the turret and open top section
b. Remove the debris or obstruction from the cutting area
c. Return the top section and tighten the reamer knob.
d. Leave motor a few minutes to cool down
e. Reconnect to the power supply and press the circuit breaker button.
f. When ready to start shredding press the “1” switch.
Warning: NEVER slacken off the tightening knob without having turned off the
On/Off switch and pulled the plug out off the socket.
Warning: The shredder will stop within 5 seconds after switching off.
Using the Plunger
There are a plunger provided to aid feeding less bulky material such as small
twigs, leaves, other garden waste and vegetation into the in-feed chute.
a. Load the material into the hopper.
b. Insert the plunger into the in-feed chute pushing the material onto the blade
disc.
c. Wait until all the material has been shredder before adding more material.
