2 Installation
Assembly and installation only by qualified
specialist personnel
The assembly and installation may be performed
by specialist personnel with the corresponding
qualifications only.
DANGER!
Electric shock
There are live parts on the circuit boards. If
touched, they can cause injury and
property damage.
Before beginning any work, isolate the system
completely from all power sources, ensure that it
cannot be switched back on, and verify that it is
safely isolated from supply.
2.1 Control panel with concealed
housing
Mounting the control panel
The control panel is delivered pre-assembled.
Remove the control panel. The unit is held by a
magnet.
Unscrew the screw and remove the control panel to
prevent it from being damaged during assembly.
Make an opening in the wall for the housing.
Fig. 2-1: Concealed housing

6 www.eta.co.at
Control panel with concealed housing Installation
Fit the concealed housing into the wall flush with the
outer edge. Mount the control panel only after the
concealed housing has been mounted and the paint
work, if any, is finished.
Cover the concealed housing properly prior to
any plastering or filling work.
Insert the control panel and tighten the screw again.
The distance between the control panel and the
housing can be adjusted with the magnet holder.
Run the CAN bus wire and the network cable (if
available) down to the control panel.

2.2 Control panel with surface-
mounted housing
Mounting the control panel on the flush-mounted
junction box
It is possible to mount the control panel on a flush-
mounted junction box (not included in delivery scope).
To do so, you will need to use the four inner
attachment points on the rear side of the surface-
mounted housing.
Should this not be possible, other attachment points
are available for mounting on the wall.
Run the CAN bus wire and the network cable (if
available) down to the control panel.

CAN bus installation Installation
2.3 CAN bus installation
Establishing a CAN bus connection
Two terminals and the associated line for establishing
the CAN-bus connection to the ETAtouch
control panel are included in the delivery scope.
Allocation of CAN-Bus terminal
Only clamp the "Sch" shield on one side.
Example: connection to [EM-C] circuit board
A terminal resistor (yellow jumper) must be set at
the end of the CAN-Bus . If both CAN-Bus
terminals are allocated, the terminal resistor must be
removed on this circuit board.
In the example listed above, the terminal resistor must
be placed on the [EM-C] circuit board at [X1] as well as
the ETAtouch control panel.
Connections at the control panel "BE-P3"
1 LAN connection for network cable (e.g. for remote
control "meinETA")
2 Socket for data line
3 Socket for CAN bus line
4 Terminal for yellow jumper
5 USB connections (e.g. for software update)
2.3.1 Setting node numbers
Serveral control panels in the system
If further control units (BE-P) are in the system, all
of them must have different node numbers. The
setted node number for each control panel is displayed
in the ETAtouch control system. Depending on the
software version installed (up to X.35.X or from
X.36.0), the set node numbers are displayed different-
ly.
•Up to software version X.35.X
On the control panel, press the button and then
the [Software Version] button. The node number
set is displayed in the overview.

3 Concluding activities
3.1 Software version
Check your installed software version
Software version 3.35.X is already installed on the
"BE-P3" control panel.
Whether a software update is required after the instal-
lation also depends on whether or not other control
panels are located within the system. Because for
faultless communication between the control panels,
the same software version must be installed on all
units. The following table shows which software
update is required after the installation.
Version 1.XX.X is required for the "BE-P1" control
panel software, 2.XX.X for "BE-P2" , and 3.XX.X
for "BE-P3".
As a precaution, you can also download all
software versions for the user interface up to
X.35.X (1.35.X, 2.35.X and 3.35.X) and the versions
from X.36.0 (e.g.: 2.39.0 and 3.39.0).
You can find information about downloading the
software in chapter 3.2 "ETAtouch software update".
You can find the description for the software update in
chapter 3.2.2 "Up to software version X.35.X"and
3.2.3 "Software version X.36.0 and later".

Download software update files
Version 1.XX.X is required for the "BE-P1" control
panel software, 2.XX.X for "BE-P2" , and 3.XX.X
for "BE-P3".
You can find the files required for the software update
in the login area of the www.ETA.co.at website, and
also on www.meinETA.at.
1. Download the software update:
a) Login to the website <www.ETA.co.at> with
your username and password. In the login

update.
b) Or login to the website <www.meinETA.at>
with your username and password. Press the
[System settings] button in the navigation bar,
and then select [Installation & software].
Download the relevant software update:
2. Copy the file to the root directory of a USB-memory
stick (FAT32 or FAT16 formatting).
The file may not be located in any folder and
may not be renamed, otherwise the
ETAtouch control system cannot find the file.

ETAtouch software update Concluding activities
Implement updates one after another
The installation of software versions X.36.0 and
higher first requires an update to version X.35.X
If a software version older than X.35.X is installed, first
update to this version (see chapter 3.2.2 "Up to
software version X.35.X"). Only then can the software
be updated to later versions (X.36.0 or later) (see
chapter 3.3.2 "Software version X.36.0 and later"). A
corresponding message is displayed on the screen if
your hardware does not support the new software
version.
3.2.2 Up to software version X.35.X
Update software
A software update must always be carried out
separately and in succession on the ETAtouch
control panel of the boiler itself and on all further
ETAtouch control panels.

at USB flash drive] window.
5. Press the [Start] button.
The software update will be copied to the
ETAtouch control system.
If no USB- memory stick is detected, remove
the USB-memory stick, plug it in again and
press the [Refresh] button.
6. Press the [OK] button.
The ETAtouch control panel will be restarted auto-
matically. After the restart the software update will
be configured and installed on the ETAtouch
control panel.
7. After installation, a request appears to remove the
USB -memory stick.
After removing the USB memory stick, the
ETAtouch control panel will restart automatically.
The software update was successfully installed and
completed when the (up to X.35.X) or symbol
(X.36.0 or later) is displayed at the bottom of the
screen.
Install the software update on all further
ETAtouch control panels in the same way.
