gebruiksaanwijzing vóór gebruik aandachtig en in zijn geheel doorleest en ook
begrijpt. Schenk daarbij speciaal aandacht aan de veiligheidsvoorschriften; die
worden vermeld ter bescherming van u en uw omgeving! Bewaar de
gebruiksaanwijzing vervolgens om het in de toekomst nog eens te kunnen

apparaat tijdens de opslag buiten het seizoen. En mocht u het apparaat ooit aan

Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Om veiligheidsredenen dient uw dompelpomp altijd te worden
aangesloten op een geaard stopcontact dat uiteraard volgens de
landelijke regels is geïnstalleerd, deel uitmaakt van een
elektriciteitsvoorziening die minimaal 16 Amp. is gezekerd en
voorzien is van een aardlekschakelaar (nominale stroom ≤30 mA).
Controleer uw pomp, elektrokabel, stekker en stopcontact voor elk
gebruik. Gebruik ze niet wanneer u beschadigingen constateert maar
laat ze repareren door een erkend elektricien. De kabel is van het
type H07RN-F.
Zorg ervoor dat elektrische aansluitingen (stekkers e.d.) te allen
tijde droog zijn en blijven.
Controleer voor gebruik of het stopcontact waarop u de pomp wilt
aansluiten geschikt is voor de pomp (230V/50Hz zie typeplaatje).
Bescherm de elektrokabel en de stekker tegen hitte, olie en scherpe
hoeken.
Maak voor gebruik eerst de afvoerslang schoon.

Controleer voor gebruik of de opvoer- c.q. aanzuighoogte het
vermogen van uw pomp niet overschrijden.
Gebruik de elektrokabel niet om de pomp aan op te hangen, aan te
laten zakken of mee te verplaatsen. Bevestig daartoe evt. een touw
aan de handgreep. Trek de stekker ook niet aan de kabel uit het
stopcontact maar neem hem in de hand!
Als de pomp werkt, sla/druk/wring/trek dan niet aan de kabels en zet
er niets zwaars op. Gebruik de elektrokabel ook niet als
ophangkoord. Dit alles kan een elektrische schok of brand
veroorzaken.
Als de pomp ver verwijderd van het stopcontact wordt gebruikt, zorg
dan voor een dikkere kabel, in overeenstemming met de afstand
(dikker dan de standaard pompkabel).
Laat de stekker of het stopcontact nooit met water in aanraking
komen. Als de elektrokabel wordt verlengd dient u erop toe te zien
dat de verlengkabel en alle aansluitingen goed waterdicht zijn en niet
met water in contact kunnen komen.
Nadat u water hebt verpompt waaraan bijv. chloor was toegevoegd
of wat een bepaalde neerslag bevatte, dient u de pomp met schoon
water door te spoelen. Houdt er rekening mee dat zand en alle
andere schurende en bijtende stoffen de slijtage versnellen en het
vermogen van de pomp beïnvloeden.
Schakel altijd de stroom uit wanneer u de positie van de pomp wilt
veranderen of hem om een andere reden aanraakt. Dit ter
voorkoming van ongelukken.
Voorkom dat de pomp draait terwijl hij om wat voor reden dan ook
het water niet af kan voeren: verstopte afvoer, te hoge opvoer enz.
Dit beschadigt de pomp!
Gebruik de pomp niet wanneer zich personen in de kelder, de put of
welk ander leeg te pompen reservoir dan ook, bevinden.
Zand (en vergelijkbaar materiaal) in de te verpompen vloeistof
hebben een schurende werking en leiden tot snellere slijtage.
Drooglopen van de pomp versnelt slijtage en veroorzaakt
oververhitting. Voorkom dus te allen tijde dat de pomp draait terwijl
er geen water meer wordt verplaatst en schakel hem onmiddellijk uit
wanneer dat gebeurt.
Kinderen en/of lichamelijk- geestelijk of zintuiglijk beperkten mogen
de pomp niet bedienen. Houd hen, en ook huisdieren, uit de buurt
van een werkende pomp.

Repareer pomp, kabel en/of stekker nooit zelf maar laat dat aan een
bevoegde vakman over. Importeur en fabrikant aanvaarden geen
aansprakelijkheid voor ondeskundig uitgevoerde reparaties en/of
wijzigingen aan de pomp. Dergelijke ingrepen doen tevens de
garantie vervallen.
Productbeschrijving
Dompelpompen worden voornamelijk gebruikt voor waterafvoer, voor het
verplaatsen van vloeistoffen, het leegpompen van waterreservoirs, kelders enz., het
oppompen van water uit bronnen en kokers, het leegpompen van boten en jachten
als ook voor het laten circuleren van water.
De pompen zijn volledig waterdicht en mogen tot een diepte van max. 5 meter in
vloeistof worden gedompeld.
De dompelpomp is geschikt voor de volgende vloeistoffen:
-Schoon of lichtvervuild water (vervuiling met een max. Ø van 35 mm.)
- Water uit zwembaden (mits de maximale dosering van de toevoegingen niet is
overschreden)
- Zeepwater
Bijtende, licht-ontvlambare of explosieve vloeistoffen (zoals benzine, diesel,
petroleum, thinner enz.), vetten, olie, zout- of vervuild water uit toiletten enz.

De temperatuur van de verpompte vloeistof dient de 40°C niet te overschrijden.
De SPV550i/SPV750i(s) pompen hebben inwendig een één-fase, asynchrone motor
met daaronder een waterpomp. De pomp drijft de teruggetrokken waaier aan.
De pomp heeft een roestvrijstalen huis (voor de SVP750is gecombineerd met
gietijzer), beschikt over een uitstekende capaciteit en is geschikt voor het transport
van grotere korrels en kluiten. De vlotterschakelaar kan de pomp automatisch laten
starten en stoppen, afhankelijk van het gewenste waterniveau.
Deze vuilwaterpompen worden gebruikt in de industrie, de bouw, de agrarische
sector, de mijnbouw, in een stedelijke omgeving enz. Ze zijn hét ideale apparaat
om modder-, afval- of rioolwater met korrels, korte vezels, papierresten en modder
of zand te verpompen, als ook voor drainage of irrigatie in de agrarische sector, het
uitbaggeren van sloten en vijvers enz. De pomp mag niet worden gebruikt in een
brandgevaarlijke omgeving of een omgeving met explosiegevaar.

Voor gebruik
Controleer de pomp op alle onderdelen. Stel vast dat er tijdens transport of opslag
geen schade is opgetreden. Alle werkzaamheden aan de pomp die het elektrische
gedeelte aangaan dienen altijd te worden uitgevoerd door een gekwalificeerd
elektricien en alle nationale en lokale voorschriften dienen daarbij in acht te worden
genomen. Meet, voordat u de pomp in gebruik neemt, de isolatieweerstand tussen de
aardleiding en elke fase van de motor. De waarde dient bij werktemperatuur meer
dan 2 MΩte zijn. Stopcontact (en eventuele verlengkabel) moeten voorzien zijn van
een aardleiding en 30mA aardlekschakelaar.
Slangaansluiting
De doorsnee van de slang dient gelijk te zijn aan de afvoer van de pomp: 2” / 50mm.
Sluit de slang aan op de pompuitgang: voor een flexibele slang kunt u een slangklem
gebruiken. De SPV750i(s) is tevens voorzien van een 2” binnendraad. De SPV750is
heeft daarbij als extra een 2”(50mm) tule.
Bevestiging vlotterschakelaar

De pomp is voorzien van een instelbare vlotterschakelaar. Deze vlotterschakelaar
schakelt de pomp automatisch in wanneer het water ongeveer 25 cm. hoog staat, en
automatisch uit bij een hoogte van ongeveer 15 cm. De punten, waarop deze
schakelaar de pomp in- en weer uitschakelt, kunnen worden bijgesteld door de vlotter
meer of minder ruimte te geven, door de vlotterkabel dmv. de klem op de handgreep
wat in te korten / te laten vieren.
Voor u de pomp in gebruik neemt dient u het volgende te controleren:
De vlotterschakelaar dient zodanig te zijn ingesteld dat de vlotter de punten,
waarop hij in- en uitschakelt, gemakkelijk en zonder kracht uit te oefenen kan
bereiken. Om dit te controleren plaatst u de pomp in een met water gevuld vat. Til
de vlotterschakelaar voorzichtig handmatig op en laat hem zakken. U voelt nu
wanneer de pomp in- en uitschakelt, en kunt u die punten evt. wat bijstellen door
de vlotterkabel middels de klem wat in te korten of te laten vieren.
Zorg ervoor dat de afstand tussen de vlotter en de kabelklem op de handgreep
niet te kort is. De vlotterschakelaar heeft enige ruimte nodig om soepel te kunnen
werken.
Wanneer u de vlotterschakelaar instelt, zorg er dan voor dat deze de bodem niet
raakt voordat de pomp uitschakelt. Voorkom ook dat de vlotter ergens kan blijven
‘hangen’; Als de vlotter niet het sein ‘UIT’ kan geven zal de pomp doorpompen en
uiteindelijk drooglopen of verbranden.
Plaatsen en verplaatsen
- Let erop dat de pomp stabiel wordt neergezet, zeker wanneer u hem automatisch
laat werken.
- Let er, zeker bij automatische werking, op dat de vlotter vrij kan bewegen.
- Zorg ervoor dat de pomp zodanig wordt neergezet dat de aanzuigopeningen
onderaan de pomp niet worden geblokkeerd (ook niet gedeeltelijk). Als de pomp
op een zachte (bijv. zanderige) bodem staat adviseren wij hem op bijv. een tegel
te zetten.
- Gebruik de elektrokabel of de vlotterschakelaar niet om de pomp op te tillen of op
te hangen. Als u de pomp wilt neerlaten in bijv. een bron of schacht, gebruik dan
een touw dat u aan de handgreep
bevestigt.
- Uw pomp is uitgevoerd met een
automatische ontluchting, waardoor de
lucht in de pomp ontsnapt wanneer hij
onder water wordt gedompeld. De
luchtbelletjes die daarop verschijnen wijzen
dus niet op een defect maar zijn normaal.
- De pomp dient niet meer dan 5 meter te
worden ondergedompeld. Plaats hem niet in
de modder waar hij verstopt zou kunnen
raken door plantengroei of andere zaken
die hem buiten bedrijf kunnen stellen.
Controleer het waterpeil regelmatig om

vast te stellen dat het niet zover daalt dat de pomp geen water meer kan
aanzuigen terwijl hij nog werkt.
- De pomp kan indien gewenst ook ‘vast’ worden gemonteerd, met i.p.v. een
flexibele slang een harde buis als afvoer (zie afb.) In dat geval dient de pomp zich
minimaal een halve meter boven de bodem te bevinden.
Werking
Controleer voor gebruik of de waarden van het stopcontact, waar u de pomp op wilt
aansluiten, corresponderen met die op het typeplaatje op de pomp (230V-50Hz).
Overtuig u ervan dat er zich géén personen in de leeg te pompen ruimte (kelder/
boot/vijver enz.) bevinden.
Automatische werking
Nadat u de stekker in het stopcontact hebt gestoken schakelt de pomp automatisch in
wanneer het water boven het ingestelde minimumniveau komt en schakelt hij uit
wanneer het ingestelde minimumniveau is bereikt.
Op deze wijze kan de pomp continu ingeschakeld staan en zal hij het waterniveau in
bijv. een kelder of boot op peil houden.
Ondanks het feit dat de pomp automatisch werkt is er toch regelmatig toezicht vereist
om vast te stellen dat er zich geen problemen voordoen bij de werking, er geen
beschadigingen zijn opgetreden enz. (zie ook: oververhittingbeveiliging).
Handmatige werking
Bij handmatige werking zal uw pomp beginnen te werken wanneer u de stekker in het
stopcontact steekt en u er handmatig voor zorgt dat de vlotterschakelaar op de stand
“in werking” staat. Dat doet u door de vlotterschakelaar rechtop te houden
(elektrokabel aan de onderzijde). Als u de vlotter zó vasthoudt (of vastzet) zal de
pomp blijven draaien. Stop de werking evenwel onmiddellijk wanneer er geen
vloeistof meer wordt verpompt: de verpompte vloeistof koelt tevens de motor, die
zonder koeling oververhit kan raken en stuk kan lopen! Houdt de pomp bij handmatig
gebruik dus voortdurend in de gaten; drooglopen leidt ook tot verhoogde slijtage!
Wanneer uw pomp toch even droog heeft gelopen, ontlucht hij niet automatisch.
Schakel hem uit (stekker uit stopcontact!) en beweeg de pomp wat heen en weer
zodat de lucht kan ontsnappen. Hierna kunt u de pomp weer gewoon gebruiken.
Handmatige werking wordt uitsluitend geadviseerd voor kortdurende werkzaamheden
waarbij u de pomp voortdurend in de gaten houdt.
Bij automatische werking zal de pomp afslaan wanneer er nog relatief veel water in
uw put/kelder/boot/vijver enz. over is, omdat de automatische vlotterschakelaar
ruimte nodig heeft om te schakelen. Wanneer u ook het laatste water wilt verpompen
adviseren wij op dat moment over te schakelen op handmatige werking. Door de
pomp op het laagste punt (of in een uitholling) te plaatsen bereikt u minimaal
restwater. Pas wel op voor drooglopen!
Wanneer u de werking van de pomp wilt beëindigen dient u de stroomtoevoer te
verbreken en de pomp in het water geheel te laten afkoelen voordat u hem uit het
water neemt, om ontploffingen en ongelukken te voorkomen.

Oververhittingsbeveiliging
Uw dompelpomp is voorzien van een oververhittingsbeveiliging. Deze schakelt de
pomp automatisch uit wanneer de motor te heet wordt. Wanneer hij voldoende is
afgekoeld zal de pomp ook automatisch weer aanslaan.
Oververhitting heeft evenwel altijd een oorzaak: de waaier kan zijn vastgelopen, er
kan een lager versleten zijn enz. Wanneer die oorzaak niet wordt verholpen zal de
oververhitting opnieuw optreden en wanneer zich dit proces te vaak herhaalt
veroorzaakt dat serieuze schade aan uw pomp. Probeer dus vast te stellen wat er mis
is en los dit probleem op. Indien de pomp hiervoor geopend moet worden dient u zich
tot uw leverancier of een erkend vakman te wenden.
Wanneer er bij een pomp die automatisch werkt te weinig controle wordt uitgeoefend
kan de pomp dus ondanks de oververhittingbeveiliging stuklopen. De
verantwoordelijkheid voor het toezicht blijft te allen tijde bij de gebruiker rusten!
Onderhoud
Voordat u controle- of schoonmaakwerkzaamheden aan uw pomp uitvoert
dient u hem uit te schakelen en de stekker uit het stopcontact te nemen.
Uw dompelpomp is nagenoeg onderhoudsvrij. Het enige wat u hoeft te doen is het
volgende:
Voer regelmatig een visuele inspectie uit. Is de pomp niet beschadigd? De
elektrokabel, de stekker en de vlotterschakelaar met z’n kabel ook niet? Indien u
wel beschadigingen constateert dient u zich tot uw leverancier of een erkend
vakman te wenden. Probeer nooit zelf reparaties uit te voeren en haal zelf de
pomp niet open!
Controleer regelmatig de werking van de vlotterschakelaar, zeker wanneer u de
pomp voor automatische werking hebt geïnstalleerd.
Verwijder regelmatig de aanslag op de vlotter met schoon water.
Controleer regelmatig (met uw vingers door de aanzuigopeningen) of er zich geen
vuil (vezels, resten) rond de schoep heeft opgehoopt. Is dat wel het geval,
verwijder deze dan. Lukt u dat niet, wend u dan tot uw leverancier of een erkend
vakman en laat deze de pomp openen en het vuil verwijderen.
Als u de pomp regelmatig op verschillende plaatsen gebruikt dient hij na elk
gebruik met schoon water te worden door- en afgespoeld.
Houd de bodem van de put (of de tegel waar de pomp op rust) vrij van modder en
neerslag.
Zorg ervoor dat de pomp niet bevriest. Laat hem tegen de winter volledig
leeglopen en sla hem vorstvrij op.
Controleer regelmatig de isolatieweerstand tussen de winding van de pomp (de
beide fasen) en de omkasting (de aardleiding) om vast te stellen dat de isolatie-
weerstand niet minder is dan 1 MΩ. Is dat niet het geval, wend u dan tot uw
leverancier of servicestation en zorg ervoor dat de vereiste norm is bereikt voor u
de pomp in gebruik neemt.

Na 2000 draaiuren (bij normaal gebruik) dient de pomp een onderhoudsbeurt te
ondergaan. Voer zelf geen onderhoud uit maar wend u hiertoe tot een erkend
servicestation en controleer of zeker de onderstaande punten worden uitgevoerd:
Ontmanteling van de pomp en controle op alle belangrijke delen zoals kogellagers,
mechanische afdichtingen en de schoep. Bij beschadiging of slijtage dienen deze
vervangen te worden.
Druktest: Na een reparatie of vervanging dient een druktest te worden uitgevoerd.
De druk moet gedurende 3 minuten 0,2MPa zijn zonder dat er lekkage of ‘zweten’
optreedt.
Olie verversen: Daartoe dient de olie-vul-schroef van de olietank verwijderd te
worden waarna de tank tot ongeveer 95% met 10# mechanische olie.
Als de pomp voor langere tijd niet gebruikt zal worden dient hij uit het water te
worden gehaald. Laat de pomp 10 minuten werken in schoon water om de harde
sedimenten aan de binnen- en buitenkant van de pomp te verwijderen. Neem de
stekker uit het stopcontact, maak de buitenzijde van de pomp schoon en laat de
pomp goed drogen. Sla hem op een droge en veilige plaats.

Garantie
Op de door u gekochte dompelpomp is de normale garantie op productie- en
materiaalfouten van toepassing.
De volgende schade en storingen zijn uitgesloten van garantie:
Slijtage en defecten van roterende mechanische afdichtingen, veroorzaakt door
drooglopen of de aanwezigheid van bepaalde stoffen en/of voorwerpen in het
water.
Blokkade van de waaier door vreemde voorwerpen
Transportschade
Beschadigingen veroorzaakt door onoordeelkundig gebruik
Storingen die door onbevoegden tevergeefs zijn getracht te repareren, of door
onoordeelkundige reparatie zijn veroorzaakt
Schade door oververhitting
Het openen van de pomp door onbevoegden als ook het aanbrengen van wijzigingen
of toevoegingen aan de pomp doen de garantie en aansprakelijkheid van leverancier,

Verwijdering
Binnen de EU betekent dit symbool dat dit product niet met het
normale huishoudelijke afval mag worden afgevoerd. Afgedankte
apparaten bevatten waardevolle materialen die hergebruikt kunnen
en moeten worden, om het milieu en de gezondheid niet te schaden
door ongereguleerde afvalinzameling. Breng afgedankte apparatuur
daarom naar een daarvoor aangewezen inzamelpunt of wend u tot
het bedrijf waar u het apparaat gekocht hebt. Zij kunnen er voor
zorgen dat zoveel mogelijk onderdelen van het apparaat hergebruikt
worden.

Safety Guidelines
For reasons of safety, your submersible pump must always be
connected to an earthed socket, which has been installed as part of the
electricity grid according to the national regulations. It is minimum 16A
fused and has an earth leakage circuit breaker (nominal current ≤30
mA).
Before each use, check your pump, electrical cable, plug and socket.
Do NOT use any of them, if you detect damage, but have a certified
electrician repair them. The cable is a type H07RN-F cable.
At all times, make sure that electrical connections (plugs, etc.) are dry
and remain dry.
Before use, check whether the socket to which you want to connect the
pump is suitable for the pump (230V/50Hz; see the type plate).
Protect the electrical cable and plug against heat, oil and sharp
corners.
First, clean the drain hose before use.

Before use, check whether the pump head or suction height do not
exceed the capacity of the pump.
Do NOT use the electrical cable to hang, lower or move the pump. To
do these things, attach a piece of rope to the handle. Do NOT pull the
plug from the socket using the cable, but hold the plug with your hand!
When the pump is operating, do NOT bang/press/wring/pull the cables
and do NOT put something heavy on them. Do NOT use the electrical
cable as a hanging cord. All of these things can cause an electric
shock.
If the pump is used far away from the socket, make sure to use a
thicker cable (thicker than the standard pump cable) depending on the
distance.
NEVER let the plug or socket come in contact with water. If an
extension cable is used, you should check that the extension cable and
all connections are waterproof and cannot come in contact with water.
After you have pumped water to which chloride was added or which
contains a certain deposit, you should flush the pump using clean
water. Take into account that sand and all other abrasive and corrosive
substances accelerate the wear & tear and affect the capacity of the
pump.
ALWAYS switch off the current, if you want to change the position of
the pump or want to touch it for some other reason in order to prevent
accidents.
Prevent the pump from operating, while it cannot discharge the water
for whatever reason: blocked drain, a too high head, etc. This
damages the pump!
Do NOT use the pump when there are people in the cellar, the pit or
whichever reservoir you want to empty of water.
Sand (and similar material) in the liquid that should be pumped out
have an abrasive effect and result in more rapid wear & tear.
Letting the pump run dry speeds up the wear & tear and causes
overheating. Therefore, always prevent the pump from operating while
water is no longer displaced; immediately switch off the pump when
this happens.
Children and/or persons who are physically, mentally of sensory
disabled are NOT allowed to operate the pump. Keep them and pets
away from an operating pump.
You should NEVER repair the pump, cable and/or plug yourself, but
leave this to an authorised professional. The importer and

manufacturer are NOT liable for unprofessional repairs and/or
modifications to the pump. Such activities cancel the warranty.
Product Description
Submersible pumps are mainly used for water draining, displacing liquids, emptying
water reservoirs/cellars/etcetera, pumping water out of wells and ducts, and
emptying boats and yachts as well as circulating water.
The pumps are completely waterproof and can be submerged in liquids up to a
maximum depth of five (5) metres.
Submersible pumps are suitable for the following liquids:
- Clean or slightly contaminated (contaminating substances may not be larger
than maximum Ø35 mm)
- Swimming-pool water (on condition that the maximum dosage of additions is not
exceeded)
- Soapy water
Corrosive, highly flammable or explosive liquids (such as petrol, diesel, petroleum,
thinner, etc.), fats, oil, salt water, contaminated toilet water, etcetera are not allowed
to be pumped!
The temperature of the pumped liquid may not exceed 40°C.
The SPV550i and SPV750i(s) pumps have an internal one-phase and asynchronous
engine and a water pump under the engine. The pump drives the recessed impeller.
The pump has a stainless steel housing (combined with cast iron in the SVP750is),
has excellent capacity and is suitable for transporting large granules and lumps.
Depending on the required water level, the float switch can either start or stop the
pump automatically.
The dirty-water pumps are used in the industrial, construction, agricultural and
mining sector, in an urban environment, etc. They are the ideal device to pump waste
water or sewage that contain granules, short fibres, paper residue, mud or sand as
well as to drain or irrigate in the agricultural sector, to dredge ditches and ponds, etc.
The pump is not allowed to be used in environments that have a risk of fire or
explosion.

Before Using the Pump
Check all the components of the pump. Determine that damage has not occurred
during transport or storage. A qualified electrician should carry out all the electrical
work activities in which all the national and local regulations should be observed.
Before using the pump, measure the insulation value between the earth wire and
each phase of the engine. This value should be more than 2 MΩ at a working
temperature. The socket (and any extension cord) must have an earth wire and a 30
mA earth leakage circuit breaker.
Hose Connection
The diameter of the hose should be equal to the drain of the pump: 2” / 50 mm.

Connect the hose to the pump outlet; you may use a hose clamp for a flexible hose.
The SPV750i(s) has also a 2” female thread. In addition, the SPV750is has a two-inch
(50 mm) tulle.
Connection of the Float Switch
The pump has an adjustable float switch. This float switch will automatically switch on
the pump, when the water reaches a level of approx. 25 cm, and will automatically
switch off the pump, when the water reaches a level of approx. 15 cm. The points at
which this switch switches on and off can be adjusted by giving the float slightly more
or less space by shortening/loosening the float cable using the clamp on the handle.
Before using the pump, you should check the following:
The float switch should be set in such a manner that the float can reach the points
at which it switches on and off easily and without effort. To check this, you put the
pump in a barrel filled with water. Carefully, lift and lower the float switch
manually. You can then feel when the pump switches on and off and you can
adjust these points by slightly shortening/loosening the float cable using the
clamp.
Make sure that the distance between the float and the cable clamp on the handle is
not too short. The float switch needs some space to operate smoothly.
If you set the float switch, make sure that it does not touch the bottom before you
switch off the pump. Also prevent the pump from hanging on to something. If the
float does not signal ‘OFF’, the pump will continue to pump and ultimately, run dry
or burn.
Putting in Place and Moving
- Make sure that the pump is positioned sturdily, especially if you let it operate
automatically.
- Make sure that the float can move freely, especially in case of automatic
operation.
- Make sure that the pump is positioned in a manner that does not block / partially
block the suction openings at the bottom of the pump. We recommend putting the
pump on a tile (for example), if it is going to stand on a soft underground (e.g.,
sand).
- Do NOT use the electrical cable or the float
switch to lift or hang the pump. If you want
to lower the pump into a well or shaft (for
example), use a piece of rope that you
attach to the handle.
- Your pump is constructed to include
automatic bleeding through which air in the
pump can be released if you submerge it in
water. Therefore, the air bubbles that
appear do not indicate a malfunction but are
normal.
- The pump should not be submerged more
than 5 metres. Do not put it into mud: this might cause blockage due to plant

growth or other causes that put the pump out of operation. Regularly, check the
water level to determine that the pump does not sink to such an extent that it
cannot suck up water while it is still operating.
- The pump can also be installed permanently but then, use a flexible hose instead
of a hard pipe for the drainage (see the figure at the right-hand side). In that case,
the pump must be positioned at minimum 0.5 metre above the bottom.
Operation
Before using the pump, check whether the values of the socket to which you want to
connect the pump correspond with the values indicated on the type plate of the pump
(230V/50Hz). Make sure that there are no persons in the area (cellar/boat/pond/etc.)
that you want to pump empty.
Automatic Operation
After you insert the plug into the socket, the pump will automatically switch on when
the water reaches the level above the set minimum, and will automatically switch off
when the water reaches the set minimum level.
This way, the pump can be active continuously and maintain the water level in a
cellar or boat, for example.
Notwithstanding the fact that the pomp operates automatically, regular supervision is
a requirement to determine that no problems occur during operation, no damages
emerge, etc. (Also see the section about Overheating Protection.)
Manual Operation
In case of manual operation, the pump will start to operate when you insert the plug
into the socket and you manually set the float switch in the ‘in operation’ position.
You do the latter by keeping the float switch vertically (electrical cable at the bottom
side). The pump will continuously operate as long as you keep or fix the float in this
position. However, stop the operation immediately, when the pump no longer pumps
any liquid. The pumped liquid also cools the engine, which can overheat without
cooling and get damaged! Therefore, constantly keep an eye on the pump when using
it manually; running dry results in increased wear & tear!
If the pump has run dry for a few seconds, it does not automatically bleed. Switch it
off (remove the plug from the socket) and move the pump to and fro, so that the air
can escape. You can use the pump normally after this. Manual operation is
recommended only for short-term work activities, while you constantly keep an eye
on the pump.
During automatic operation, the pump will switch off when there is quite a bit of
water still in your pit/cellar/boat/pond/etcetera, because the automatic float switch
needs time to switch. If you want to pump the remaining water, we recommend
switching to manual operation. You can reach the remaining water by placing the
pump at the lowest point or in a hallowing. However, watch out for running dry!
If you want to stop the operation of the pump, you have to disconnect the power
supply and let the pump cool off completely in the water before you take the pump
out of the water in order to avoid explosions and accidents.

Overheating Protection
Your submersible pump has overheating protection. This device automatically
switches off the pump, if the engine becomes too hot. When the engine has cooled off
sufficiently, the pump will automatically switch on again.
However, overheating always has a reason: the impeller might be jammed, a bearing
might be worn out, etc. If the reason has not been remedied, overheating will reoccur
and this causes severe damage to your pump, if this process repeats itself too
frequently. Therefore, try to determine what the reason is and solve this problem. If
the pump has to be opened for this, you should contact your supplier or an authorised
professional.
Therefore, if too little monitoring was carried out during the automatic operation of
the pump, the pump can fail in spite of the overheating protection. At all times, the
user is responsible for monitoring!
Maintenance
You must switch off the pump and remove the plug from the socket before
you carry out checking or cleaning activities.
Your submersible pump hardly requires any maintenance. The only things you have to
do are:
Regularly carry out a visual inspection. Are the pump, electrical cable, plug and
float switch, including its cable, not damaged? If you observe any damage, you
should contact your supplier or an authorised professional. NEVER try to carry out
repairs yourself and do NOT open the pump!
Regularly check the operation of the float switch, certainly if you have installed the
pump for automatic operation.
Regularly remove any deposit on the float using clean water.
Using your fingers through the suction openings, regularly check whether dirt
(fibres, residue) has not accumulated around the vane. If so, remove this dirt. If
you do not manage, you should contact your supplier or an authorised professional
and let them open the pump and remove the dirt.
If you use the pump regularly in different places, you should flush and rinse the
pump with clean water after each use.
Make sure that the bottom of the pit or the tile on which the pump stands has no
mud and/or deposits.
Make sure that the remaining water in the pump does not freeze. Let the pump
completely empty out by the time winter sets in and store the pump frost-free.
Regularly check the insulation resistance between the turns of the pump (both
phases) and the housing (the earth wire) to determine that the insulation
resistance is not less than 1 MΩ. If not, you should contact your supplier or service
station and make sure that the required norm is achieved before you put the pump
into operation.
Maintenance to the pump should be carried out after 2,000 operation hours at normal
use. Do NOT carry out maintenance yourself, but contact an authorised service
station and check whether at least the following points were carried out:
