CUSTOMER AND OPERATOR EXPECTATIONS
Congratulations on beginning your new ice vending venture. We, at Everest, are here to help
you every step of the way so that you are given the best chance of success for both you and
your customers.
Please note that as the owner of this machine, it will be your responsibility to operate and
maintain the machine and if there is an issue, you will need to help the Everest Service Team
diagnose and sometimes assist in the repair. This is an electrical and mechanical machine and
over time things will need to be addressed, and as the machine owner, the responsibility to keep
your new machine operational falls to you. The Everest Service Team will be available to help
you through troubleshooting any issue and also, should you need additional assistance from
other manufacturers and suppliers, we are here to provide that information to you.
Before operating your machine, it is important to be aware of the additional responsibilities you
have as an owner or operator of the Everest VX machine series. These responsibilities and
expectations are outlined below. Should you have any questions, please reach out to an Everest
representative and we will be happy to assist you.
Prior to receiving your machine you will be responsible for and expected to:
● Work with Everest’s Account Coordination team to finalize the details of your shipment.
These details include, but are not limited to: finalizing your sales and warranty
agreement, acknowledging your receipt and review of this manual, finalizing the pricing
for your ice and water products, finalizing the machine’s delivery address, and making
the final payment on your machine(s).
● Fully comply with any local, state, and federal regulations regarding the connection and
operation of your machine(s). Please note that given the number of governing agencies
across the country and the world, Everest is not and cannot be responsible for complying
with the regulations associated with the location of your choosing.
● Coordinate the preparation of the machine(s) final location. The machine requires proper
water access, drain access, and electrical access. Additionally, the machine(s) require a
flat surface that can support up to 2800 lbs.
● Set up your own account with a credit card processing company. Your Everest
machine(s) comes installed with a credit card reader from USA Technologies. Everest
will have your local USA Tech representative reach out to you so you can create this
account.
● Review the entirety of this manual and any associated training documents and videos so
that you are well versed on the machine prior to its shipment.

After receiving your machine you will be responsible for and expected to:
● Coordinate the final delivery date and delivery time window with the common carrier that
has been assigned to your delivery. All shipments will be sent to the nearest freight
terminal to your location. At that point, the terminal will contact you for a delivery
appointment. Any changes in your ability to be present at delivery must be
communicated to Everest and the Common Carrier at least 24 hours in advance of the
delivery window.
● Be onsite when the machine(s) are delivered.
● Take every safety precaution regarding moving this machine into its final location.
Although Everest delivers your machine with a liftgate truck, In some cases, a forklift
might be necessary to move the machine(s) into its(their) final location. Accessibility to
and use of a forklift is the machine owners responsibility.
● Have at least two additional people to help you receive this machine. This machine is
roughly eight feet tall and weighs more than 1900 lbs when empty.
● Assist the delivery driver in removing the machine(s) off of the truck, should the driver
need assistance. In most cases, the machines are delivered using a pallet jack and a lift
gate.
● Fully document the delivery condition of the machine(s) by taking pictures of the
machine crate(s) from all sides prior to uncrating the machine, taking particular
consideration to and documentation of the top and bottom corners of the machine.
● Note all damage on the Common Carrier’s delivery receipt, should there be any shipping
damage whatsoever. Failure to document the existence and extent of the damage will
waive your right to make a shipping claim in the future. If shipping damage is present we
recommend writing the following on the delivery receipt, ”DAMAGED SHIPMENT -
internal damage may be present. Accepting shipment upon further review”.
● Have the proper tools required to uncrate the machine. These tools are listed later in the
manual.
● Send all machine shipping pictures to Everest regardless if there is or is not damage
present.
● Follow the machine installation instructions detailed in this manual.
● Work with Everest representatives to commission your machine in order to complete the
installation process. During the commissioning process, you may have an Everest
representative onsite or an Everest representative may walk you through the process
over the phone. If your commissioning is done with a representative onsite, then you are
expected to schedule and be present for the entire commissioning while the
representative is there. Everest will make every effort to work with your schedule in order
to conduct the commissioning step.

When operating the machine you will be responsible for and be expected to:
● Have a basic knowledge of tools and be able to follow verbal commands and
instructions.
● Be able to stand on a step ladder. Operators who cannot use a step ladder will not be
able to access some of the most important systems of the machine. If you cannot
physically access your machine, you will need to have someone who can present during
machine installation and service.
● Be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
● Have the ability to operate a Windows based computer. A computer installed with a
Windows operating system is required in order to use the machine’s maintenance mode.
● Contact Everest with service issues and requests and be able to accurately describe the
issue and assist the Everest Service Team in determining next steps.
● Be available at the machine for service troubleshooting and repair should your
machine(s) require it.
● Diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues with help of Everest Service Team.
● Fix and repair issues and install parts that are provided by Everest Service Team or
contract that work out to a third party if necessary.
● Schedule your own service visits for components that are not directly warranted by
Everest (Scotsman, MEI, USA Technologies). The Everest machine has components
that are warranted by their respective manufacturer. As the Warranty holder, you will be
responsible for scheduling service visits or component returns to the manufacturer on
these components. Scotsman has a National Service Network and can respond at your
machine location. MEI and USA Tech components may require that they are removed
and sent to the manufacturer for repair. Sometimes a “loaner” unit can be arranged or
you can purchase an additional unit to replace it while it’s being serviced.
● Properly maintain your machine according to the recommendations put forth by Everest
and any other manufacturer that is referenced in this manual (Scotsman, MEI, USA
Technologies, Everpure, etc.).
● Keep the machine at the proper operating temperature stated in this manual. Allowing
your machine to operate outside of the outlined operating temperatures could result in
failures within the machine and/or loss of the machine’s warranty.
An Everest Ice and Water Vending machine can make you money while you are out working
your current job and even while you sleep and typically do not need much daily attention.
However, this is a business like any other and will require the business owner to be engaged
and responsible for certain aspects of your new business and its operation, service and
maintenance. This is a guide and outline of some of the things that you may need to be aware
of so that you can be a successful Ice and Water Vending machine operator.
