This user manual covers the detail of using and operating your Electric Charger
Safety First!
Please read through this guide to learn about your charger.
To reduce risk of electric shock do not attempt to open the charger.
The charger is designed for indoor use only.
Do not attempt to recharge any non-rechargeable batteries.
Contact the manufacturers or retail dealers if there are any problems.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
This appliance can be used by children aged 16 years and above. Persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge can only use the appliance if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved.
Children must not play with the charger. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without
supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the charger.

To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, follow these instructions carefully
If the shape of the plug does not fit the power outlet, use an attachment plug adaptor of
the proper configuration for the power outlet.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

full warranty conditions can be found at the end of this document.
Upon receiving your EVx Charger.
Although every care has been taken to protect your charger during transit and delivery, damage in
transit does sometime occur. Please inspect your product visually before use and if you observe any
damage before use – please report any damage immediately to us via email.
Take pictures if you suspect excessively rough handling or see visual damage.

Tochargeabattery
The EVx e-Scooter’s comes with a high-capacity Lithium Ion rechargeable battery. The battery
needs to be fully charged before your first use. The intelligent charger will control the battery pack
charging and will automatically end charging when the battery is fully charged. Make sure your
battery is fully charged before you go on a long trip.
The battery can be charged on your e-Scooter or you can remove it from the e-Scooter to charge it
at a convenient location inside your house or at a charging station.
Be sure to always use onlythecharger supplied with the product. (Using another charger may
void your battery warranty)
The charger must be plugged into a 220/230 50 Hz AC supply. (The ordinary power outlet available
in a South African home)

Preparationforonboardcharging:
Make Sure the e-Scooter is turned off.
Stand on the left side and locate the charge port cover on the bottom of the battery
pack.
Lift the rubber dust cap away to expose the DC charge connection port.
Carefully, plug the charger into the charger port as described below.

Insert the main charger plug (1) into the charging port of the e-Scooter.
Insert the charger AC power plug (2) into a home 220/230V AC power socket, and the
battery starts charging when the charger indicator LED (3) start to blink green.
The charger will automatically start charging if the battery needs to be charged.
The battery is fully charged when the charger indicator light (3) changes from blinking
green to static green.
When the charger is charging the battery, the indicator LED will blink green When the
charger is complete, the charger will stop blinking and will just be GREEN.
Charging takes between 1 and 5 hours, depending on battery size and initial charge level.
(see verifying battery charge level further in the document)
When the pack is fully charged, disconnect the charger from the wall.
Remove the charger plug from battery and close the rubber dust cap. Use your battery often
so it exercises the cells and is kept healthy
Caution:
Ensure a correct electrical plug is fitted to the electrical cord of the charger.
Do not charge he battery with any charger which is not supplied or approved to charge your e-
Scooter.
Do not place anything over the charger or cover its body while it is charging.
The charger can become warm during charging.
Do not use the charger in wet areas or in rain.
Do not drop the charger or subject to high vibration.

Chargingthebatterywhenremovedfromyoure‐Scooter
Be sure the e-Scooter is powered off and at a stable position on its stand.
As protection for the main power circuit of e-Scooter, the battery isolator switch indicated in
position (2) will automatically disconnect (trip) to ensure safety when the e-Scooter circuit
senses an abnormality, or the electrical current exceeds the set safe value.
ToremovetheBatteryfromthee‐Scooter.
STEP1:OpenthebatteryCompartmentundertheseat.
With the key in the ignition, turning the key anti-clockwise will unlock the battery storage
compartment and a “CLICK” will be heard when the seat lifts up slightly. Manually lift the
seat up to expose the location of the battery compartment shown in figure 3 below.

STEP 3
The battery cable connected to the battery is secured in place with a small locking cap ①
shown below in Figure 5.
Lift the connector locking cap ① on the connector position, while holding it in a
disconnected position with your left hand, unplug the battery cable connector ② by
pulling the Cable connector ② firmly upward with your right hand.
The Battery connecting cable will now be disconnected from the battery.

STEP 4
With the battery connecting cable disconnected, as shown in Figure 6, unlock the Battery
by inserting the e-Scooter key in the battery lock
③ shown in Figure 3.
Turn the key
clockwise
to unlock the battery case. Note : The battery will only remain
unlocked as long as the key is kept in a clockwise rotated position.

Hold the key in an unlock position with one hand and lift the battery out by pulling it upwards .

Placingthebatterybackintoposition.
Placing the battery into the e-Scooter is a reversal of the steps described above. Make sure the
connector cable is out of the way and lower the battery into the pocket provided for it.
When the battery is inserted into the e-Scooter, it is locked automatically, and a CLICK sound will
be heard.
Insert the Connector Cable, (Item 2 in Figure 5) and switch the Isolator switch to On. (Figure 4)

Keep battery away from children, fire and heat sources. It is strictly forbidden to
throw it into
the fire.
Violent movements, shock and extrusion are prohibited;
Use only the charger provided with your e-Scooter. Other chargers may damage your
battery and will void the Warranty.
This product has been subject to strict inspections before leaving factory. Dismantling
or modification of the battery is strictly prohibited.
Contact your dealer for any questions about the care, maintenance and disposal of
the battery.
Do not expose the battery to water and prevent it from being damped by water or rain.
Charge temperature: 0-45 °C, discharge temperature: -20-45 °C;
Battery capacity will be reduced when placed in a low-
temperature environment;
Charge the battery when in use, but make sure to charge the battery before the
capacity is lower than 20%.
For a long-term storage, remove the battery from the e-Scooter.
Storage,MaintenanceandTransportationoftheBattery
Charge the battery to half-saturation state when storing or transporting it (after the battery is
discharged, charge it for 3 hours).
For long term storage, place it in a dry and ventilated place;
Battery and charger should be kept in a clean, dry, and ventilated place.
Keep them away from corrosive materials, power source and heat source;
Storage conditions: ambient temperature: 20 to 35 °C, humidity < 65% RH;
When storing the charger, please disconnect it from the battery.
Regular maintenance can enhance the service life and driving safety of the e-Scooter.

If you experience a problem with your charger, please contact your nearest Evx dealer for
or contact us by telephone or email for inspection or repair.
Do not modify your product, it may render the product unsafe and any modifications will
void your warranty.

A. Check whether there is alternating current power supply.
B. Check connection at the input interface.
When you eliminate the conditions above, please ask for help from the agent or contact us, do not attempt to repair
the charger yourself.

Check whether the output connector is well connected.
Check whether the battery can be used and have the battery tested.
When you eliminate the conditions above, please ask for help from the agent or contact us, do not attempt to repair the

The battery may be damaged, have it inspected.
When you eliminate the conditions above, please ask for help from the agent or contact us, do not attempt to repair the
charger yourself.
Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use separate recycle collection
facilities. Contact your local municipality for information regarding the collection options available.
If electrical appliances are disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances, it can leak into
the groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging your health and well-being.
The charger indoors must be stored indoors, out of rain, dust or harsh direct sun.

The user’s safety is paramount. It’s important to understand that electrical products may
be dangerous if handled incorrectly. Be sure to understand and follow all local laws &
regulations and to have repairs done by an authorized EVx dealer. Don’t use any EVx
product in ways unintended by the manufacturer.
Don’t use your charger until you have built up some familiarity with
the product and all installed accessories.
Don’t use your charger in any environment especially in rain or wet
areas, that may present danger of electric shock.
Use only parts/accessories approved by EVX, and have all installation performed by an
EVX-authorized service center. Installation of unauthorized parts/accessories may void the
product’s warranty and may endanger the user. In addition, Improper installation of any
parts/accessories as well as improper performance of maintenance may void the product’s
warranty.
NEVER DISASSEMBLE OR MODIFY ANY MECHANICAL OR
ELECTRONIC COMPONENT. DOING SO IS EXTREMELY
DANGEROUS AND MAY RESULT IN DEATH, SERIOUS INJURY, OR
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
The charger may not be used to charge any other manufacturer’s battery, doing so will void the warranty.

Make sure the charger sold to you are tested at the point when you receive it and report a defective charger
to us as soon as possible.
Every product we sell is covered by a limited warranty against manufacturing defects subject to the terms
below:
Covered Products:
1. This warranty applies only to products, parts, & components (hereafter PRODUCTS) that have been manufactured,
assembled, or sold in new condition by EVM Solutions (Pty) Ltd hereinafter referred to as EVX.
2. This warranty applies only to replacement/repair of PRODUCTS in case of a manufacturing flaw in materials or
workmanship, in accordance with the Scope of Warranty Service, and subject to any and all exclusions, limitations, and
procedures explained below.
3. This warranty is not transferable in any way and may not be exercised by anyone other than the original retail buyer
(hereafter BUYER) of the PRODUCTS, only if the BUYER has retained constant ownership of the PRODUCTS since
their original purchase of the PRODUCTS and only to PRODUCTS purchased in new condition either:
A. directly from EVX, or
B. from an authorized dealer of EVX who in turn purchased or received the e-Scooter directly from EVX (e.g., this
warranty does not apply to used or second-hand e-Scooters, nor does it apply to pre-owned PRODUCTS).
Warranty Period:
1. Battery packs are covered under warranty for a period of 1 year on manufacturing defects only. We DO NOT cover wear
and tear or USAGE in your battery.
2. Other electronic components are covered under warranty for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase
3. Bicycle frames are covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
4. For all PRODUCTS, this warranty expires 1 year from the date the PRODUCTS were delivered to the BUYER, unless
excluded from warranty or otherwise voided from coverage under warranty.
5. Retain the proof of purchase to validate the warranty period of the product when lodging a warranty claim.
6. New E-Scooter Guarantee -We offer full replacement of defective parts with free shipping within the first 7 days of your e-
Scooter order. After 7 days the customer is responsible for all return shipment costs to EVX. EVX will pay for shipping to
the customer only.
Warranty Exclusions:
The intent of this warranty is to ensure that the BUYER of any new PRODUCTS sold by EVX or any EVX product sold by
an authorized EVX dealer will receive a quality product, free of manufacturing flaws. This warranty should not be
considered to be an insurance policy against any damage occurring after the products are received, nor as explicit or
implicit acceptance by EVX of responsibility for the consequences resulting from the failure of any PRODUCTS,
irrespective of whether the failure itself is covered by this warranty.
In addition, the following situations are excluded from this warranty or lead to exclusion from this warranty:
1. Warranty claims not made in accordance with Warranty Claims Process (explained below)
2. PRODUCTS with technical alterations that have been made without the approval of the manufacturer
3. PRODUCTS with alterations to or additions to which use incompatible or non-original parts
4. Damage to or failure of PRODUCTS resulting from weather or ordinary wear and tear.
5. Theft, robbery, vandalism, intentional damage, damage resulting from bumps and scrapes after possession of the
PRODUCTS has been transferred to the BUYER.
6. PRODUCTS that haven’t been manufactured or sold by EVX
7. Incidental/consequential damage or injury
8. PRODUCTS that have been used or transported inappropriately or improperly (e.g., by loading a EVX e-Scooter above

the maximum weight recommendation)
9. PRODUCTS with damage resulting from improper maintenance (e.g., storing battery fully discharged over the winter)
10. Any electrical component that has been opened, altered, partially disassembled, or completely disassembled except by
EVX or an authorized EVX dealer.
11. Any PRODUCTS that have been disassembled in a manner not authorized by EVX or that have had repairs attempted by
anyone not authorized by EVX.
12. PRODUCTS that have been damaged due to improper adjustment or worn components
13. PRODUCTS with damage resulting from an accident
14. PRODUCTS that have been lent, leased, or rented commercially
15. Bicycles not registered with EVX by the BUYER within 60 days of delivery/sale
16. Warranty shall not apply to PRODUCTS and/or situations in accordance with the terms of a specific sale (e.g., scratches
and dents to scratch & dent discounted merchandise)
17. Cleaning of any PRODUCTS
18. PRODUCTS that were not purchased by BUYER in new condition
19. EVx will not pay for any third-party service or part replacement unless agreed upon prior to the fix.
20. EVx will not pay for return shipping on any damaged or defective product or component.
21. EVx will not cover any damage that may occur during shipping if the owner sets up their own shipping option or if the e-
Scooter is shipped using a freight forwarder or similar service.
22. This warranty is only valid in South Africa
Scope of Warranty Service
In case of a warranty claim within the warranty period for a non-excluded situation EVX agrees to: Repair or replace the
failed warrantied PRODUCTS with equivalent parts/accessories/components at the discretion of EVX, by EVX, an
authorized EVX dealer, or by a third-party with the approval of EVX. Replacement parts may not be identical to those
being replaced.
Any additional non-warranty work done concurrently with a warranty repair/replacement will be subject to ordinary
parts/labor fees. This includes anything not included by the warranty as well as anything excluded from the warranty.
No service, repair, or parts replacement provided under warranty will extend the original warranty period.
Warranty Claims Process
1. Register your product within 30 days of purchase by sending an email to [email protected]
Other products do not require registration.
2. If you suspect that any part/component is defective, do not attempt to repair or replace it yourself or to have it
repaired or replaced before contacting us doing so may invalidate your warranty and may cause additional
damage, not necessarily limited to the PRODUCTS in question, and may also create the risk of injury.
3. Contact EVX via email to submit your warranty claim: [email protected]. EVX will not replace any part without inspection
or evaluation of photos or video of the damaged part.
4. We will contact you to make plans for inspection and any warranty repairs.
5. All claims to this warranty must be made through EVX. Proof of purchase may be required with any warranty request.
Before making a warranty claim, we suggest that you contact our Technical Support team at [email protected] as there
might be a simple fix for your problem. Valid warranty claims will be processed through EVX as soon as possible but
within a guaranteed period of one year of initial purchase.
Severability
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provisions of this Agreement shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any
other provision of this Agreement, which shall remain in full force and effect.
Any provision of this agreement deemed to be invalid or unenforceable shall be interpreted, unless prohibited by law, in
accordance with the provision’s intent and in consideration of applicable laws and corresponding industry standards.
Shipping Damage Claims
IMMEDIATELY inspect your product(s) for damage. Freight damage claims are extremely time sensitive. We will not
accept freight damage claims later than 14 (Fourteen) days from receipt of the product. Note any damage to your
product(s) on the delivery note before you and the driver sign-off on the shipment. Take pictures of any damage that is
found and date the images when possible. Keep all packaging and paperwork until the inspection process is complete.
Whenever possible, report damage claims within 7 days of delivery to a EVx customer support representative. Please
contact our Customer Support team for return/ replacement instructions at [email protected].
