1. PREFACE
In order toprovide our customerswith quality, reliability and versatility, this product has
been made tostrict production standards.This manual includes all thenecessary
information about installation,debugging, discharging andmaintenance. Please readthis
manual carefully beforeyou open ormaintain the unit.The manufacture of this productwill
not be heldresponsible if someoneis injured orthe unit isdamaged, as aresult of
improper installation, debugging,or unnecessary maintenance.It is vitalthat the
instructions within this manual are adheredto at alltimes. The unit must beinstalled by
qualified personnel.
The unit canonly be repairedby qualified installercentre , personnelor an authorised
dealer.
Maintenance and operationmust be carriedout according tothe recommended timeand
frequency, as stated inthis manual.
Use genuine standardspare parts only.
Failure to complywith these recommendationswill invalidate the warranty.
Swimming Pool HeatPump Unit heatsthe swimming poolwater and keepsthe temperature
constant. For splittype unit, The indoor unitcan be Discretelyhidden or semi-hiddento
suit a luxuryhouse.

Installation items:
The factory only provides the main unit and the water unit; the other items in the illustration
are necessary spareparts for thewater system ,thatprovided by usersor the installer.
3.1 Installation illustration

2.Make sure thatthe pump andthe water-in pipehave been filled with water.
3.Close the valveand start theunit.

3.2 Swimming Pool Heat Pumps Location
Before installation it is very important to ensure 4 variables are carefully checked to allow
the unit to operate correctly:
•Adequate Air Flow
•Correct water flow volume
•Correct electrical connection & supply
•Heater condition
*Forindoor pools please consult the supplier.
DO NOT place the unitin an enclosedarea,where the units discharge air can be
re-circulated.
In an enclosed area take measures to evacuate the cold waste air out of the room. Conversely make sure
there is adequate air entering the room to supply the heat pump.
3.3 Location & minimum clearances
Evo recommend the heat pump should ONLY be installed in a location with appropriate ventilation. See
above for minimum airflow clearances.
The Evo pool heat pump should be installed with a minimum clearance of at least 3.5m to the water’s edge.
Furthermore, EvoHeat recommend installing the heat pump no greater than 7.5 meters away from the water’s
edge due to heat loss from the piping. If you do not have a location with these suggested clearances, please
contact our EvoHeat Tech Support Specialist on 1300 859 933 to discuss appropriate installation locations.
The heat pump should be installed a maximum of 5m below the water level of the pool/spa.
Make sure the heat pump is not located where large amounts of water may run-off from a roof into the unit.
Sharp sloping roofs without gutters will allow excessive amounts of rain water mixed with debris from the
roof to be forced through the unit. A water deflector may be needed to protect the heat pump.
If installing the heater on an existing pump/filtration system the heater must be installed AFTER the filter and
BEFORE the chlorinator/sanitizer.
The heat pump should be installed on a flat level surface.

3.4 Swimming Pool Heat Pumps Plumbing
Condensation: Since theHeat pump coolsdown the airabout 4 -5 , water maycondense on
the fins ofthe horseshoe shapedevaporator. Ifthe relative humidityis very high,this could
be as muchas several litresan hour.The water will run downthe fins intothe basepan and
drain out throughthe barbed plasticcondensation drain fittingon the sideof the basepan.
This fitting isdesigned to accept20mm clear vinyltubing which canbe pushed onby hand
and run toa suitable drain.It is easyto mistake thecondensation for awater leak insidethe
unit.
NB: Aquick way toverify that thewater is condensationis to shutoff the unit and keepthe
pool pump running.If the waterstops running outof the basepan,it is condensation.
AN EVEN QUICKER WAY IS to TEST THE DRAIN WATER FOR CHLORINE- if theis no
chlorinepresent, then it'scondensation.

The Swimming PoolHeat Pumps exclusiverated flow titaniumheat exchanger requiresno
special plumbing arrangementsexcept bypass(please setthe flow rateaccording to the
nameplate). The water pressure dropis less than10kPa at max.Flow rate. Sincethere is no
residual heat orflame Temperatures, The unit does not need copper heat sink piping. PVC
pipe can berun straight intothe unit.
Location: Connect theunit in thepool pump discharge(return) line downstreamof all filterand
pool pumps,and upstream ofany chlorinators, ozonatorsor chemical pumps.
Standard model haveslip glue fittingswhich accept 32mmor 50 mmPVC pipe forconnection
to thepool or spafiltration piping. Byusing a 50NB to 40NByou can plumb40NB
Give serious considerationto adding aquick coupler fittingat the unitinlet and outletto allow
easy draining ofunit for winterizingand to provideeasier access shouldservicing be required.

3.5 Swimming Pool Heat Pumps Electrical Wiring
NOTE: Althoughthe unit heatexchanger is electricallyisolated from therest of theunit, it
simply prevents theflow of electricityto or fromthe pool water. Grounding theunit is still
required to protectyou against shortcircuits inside theunit. Bonding isalso required.
3.INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
3.6 Initial startup of the Unit
NOTE- In orderfor the unitto heat the pool or spa, the filter pump must be running to
circulate water throughthe heat exchanger.
Start up Procedure- Afterinstallation is completed, you should follow these steps:
1. Turnon your filterpump. Check for water leaks and verify flow to and from the pool.
2. Turnon the electricalpower supply to the unit, then press the key ON/OFF of wire
controller, Itshould start in several seconds.
3. Afterrunning a fewminutes make sure the air leaving the top(side) of the unit is
cooler(Between 5-10 )
4. With theunit operating turn the filter pump off. The unit should alsoturn off automatically,
5. Allowthe unit andpool pump to run 24 hours per day until desired pool water emperature is
reached. When thewater-in temperature reach setting, The unit just shutsoff. The unit will
now automatically restart(as long as your pool pump is running)when the pool temperature
drops more than2 below set temperature.
Time Delay- The unit is equipped with a 3 minute built-in solid state restart delay included to
protect control circuitcomponents and to eliminate restart cycling and contactor chatter.
This time delaywill automatically restart the unit approximately 3 minutes after each control
circuit interruption. Evena brief power interruption will activate the solid state 3 minute
restart delay andprevent the unit from starting until the 5 minute countdown is completed.
Power interruptions duringthe delay period will have no effect on the 3 minutecountdown.

The unit hasa separate molded-in junction box with a standard electrical conduit nipple
already in place.Just remove the screws and the front panel, feed your supply lines in
through the conduitnipple and wire-nut the electric supply wires to the three connections
already in thejunction box (four connections if three phase). To complete electrical hookup,
connect Heat Pumpby electrical conduit, UF cable or other suitable means as specified (as
permitted by localelectrical authorities) to a dedicated AC power supply branch circuit
equipped with theproper circuit breaker, disconnect or time delay fuse protection.
Disconnect -A disconnect means (circuit breaker , fused or un-fused switch) should be
located within sightof and readily accessible from the unit, This is common practiceon
commercial and residentialair conditioners and heat pumps. It prevents remotely-energizing
unattended equipment andpermits turning off power atthe unit whilethe unit isbeing
serviced.

4.2.2 Setting temperature

4.2.4 Keyboard lock
To avoid mis-operations,please lock thecontroller after parametersetting.
At themain interface, pressing for 5 seconds,whenhearing one sound,
the keyboard islocked.
When the keyboardis locked, pressing for 5 seconds when hearing onesound,
the keyboard lockis open.
NOTES: When theunit is inalarming state, thekey lock canbe removed automaticly.
4.2.3 Mode switch

In the maininterface,press and for 0.5s canset the mode,press
or to change the current mode,you can switch different modes of colling,
heating and automode.
If there isno operation for5s system will save the current mode and back to the main
interface ress can not savesetting

4.2.5 Malfunction display
There will bemalfunction code showingon the controllerscreen when relativemalfunction
occurs.
If there aremore than onemalfuctions occurs atthe same time,you can checkthe current
error codes listby pressing or key.
You can refer to the malfunction table to find out the failure cause and solution.

4.4.Malfunction Table

Check the watersupply device andthe release often.Youshould avoid thecondition of no
water or airentering into system,as this willinfluence unit's performanceand reliability.
You should clear the pool/spa filter regularly to avoid damage to the unit as a result of the
dirty of cloggedfilter.
The area aroundthe unit shouldbe dry, clean andwell ventilated. Cleanthe side heating
exchanger regularly tomaintain good heatexchange as conserveenergy .
The operation pressureof the refrigerantsystem should onlybe serviced bya certified
technician .
Discharge all waterin the waterpump and watersystem ,so that freezing of thewater in the
pump or watersystem does notoccur. Youshould discharge thewater at thebottom of
water pump ifthe unit willnot be usedfor an extendedperiod of time.Youshould check the
unit thoroughly andfill the systemwith water fullybefore using itfor the firsttime after a

EVOHEAT Pump Warranty
1. The titanium heat exchanger tubing is guaranteed against corrosion for a period of twenty five
(25) years from the date of purchase when used with chlorine, salt, bromine or sea water. (*25 year
warranty on the titanium heat exchanger is valid for Evo heat pumps purchased post 15.05.2018. If purchased prior
please refer to your original operating manual for warranty details).
2. The compressor is guaranteed for three (3) years from the date of purchase.
3. All other parts are guaranteed for two (2) years from the date of purchase.
4. This warranty covers all labour for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase.
5. This warranty excludes any defect or injury caused by or resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect,
accidental damage, improper voltage, vermin infestation, incompetent installation, any fault not
attributable to faulty manufacture or parts, any modifications which affect the reliability or
performance of the unit.
6. This warranty does not cover the following:
a. Natural Disasters (hail, lightening, flood, fire etc.)
b. Rust or damage to paintwork caused by a corrosive atmosphere
c. When serviced by an unauthorized person without the permission of Evo Industries
d. When a unit is installed by an unqualified person
e. Where a unit is incorrectly installed
f. When failure occurs due to improper or faulty installation
g. Failure due to improper maintenance (refer Operating Instructions)
h. ‘No Fault Found’ service calls where the perceived problem is explained within the
Operation Instructions
i. Costs associated with delivery, handling, freighting, or damage to the product in transit.
7. If warranty service is required you should:
a. contact Evo Industries Australia on 1300 85 99 33 or via our Contact page on our web site
b. provide a copy of your receipt as proof of purchase
c. have completed the online warranty registration or provide a completed warranty card.
8. Home service is available within the normal operating area of your Evo Industries authorized
Service Centre. Service outside this area will incur a traveling fee. Unless otherwise specified to the
purchaser, the benefits conferred by this express warranty and additional to all other conditions,
warranties, rights and remedies expressed or implied by the Trade Practices Act 1974 and similar
consumer protection provisions contained in legislation of the States and Territories and all other
obligations and liabilities on the part of the manufacturer or supplier and nothing contained herein
shall restrict or modify such rights, remedies, obligations or liabilities
