plug(s).

machinefromthenormaloperatingposition.
Note:Parktheunitonalevelsurface.Makesureall
movingpartshavestopped,parkingbrakeisengaged,
thekeyhasbeenremoved,andthesparkplugwire
hasbeendisconnected.Allowunittocoolbefore
startingtheseinstructions.

Important:ForSerialNumbers790,000and
higher,multipleaccessoriesaddedtoabase
unitcanchangethestabilityofthemachine.
Readtheunitoperator’smanualtodetermineif
counterbalanceweightsarenecessaryforthe
accessoriesinstalledontheunit.
1.Makesureallmovingpartshavestopped,
parkingbrakeisengaged,andthekeyhasbeen
removed.
2.Raisethefrontofthemachineandsupportwith
jackstands.
CAUTION
Raisingthemowerdeckforservice
ormaintenancerelyingsolelyon
mechanicalorhydraulicjackscouldbe
dangerous.Themechanicalorhydraulic
jacksmaynotbeenoughsupportor
maymalfunctionallowingtheunittofall,
whichcouldcauseinjury.
DoNotrelysolelyonmechanical
orhydraulicjacksforsupport.Use
adequatejackstandsorequivalent
support.
3.Removetheblades;retainforremovalofthe
nishcutkit.

AlwaysinstalltheoriginalExmarkblades
andbladeretaininghardwareasshown
intheOperator’smanual.
9.Installhardwarebackintotheholeinthetop
ofthedeckwherethedischargebafewas
removed.ForLazer,LazerXP ,andLazerXS
unitsSerialNumber539,000andlower,reinstall
thebeltguidewithaspringdiscwasherunder
theheadoftheinnerboltandadjustthebelt
guide1/8inchfromthebelt.Allopenholes
inthetopofthedecknotcoveredbyshields
mustbepluggedtopreventsandorothersmall
objectsfrombeingthrownupthroughthedeck.
10.Tightenallhardware.
11.Carefullyremovethejackstandsandlowerthe
machinetotheground.

RemovingtheMulchKit
Toconvertthedeckbacktosidedischarge:
1.Stopengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stop,engageparkingbrake,removekey,and
disconnectthenegativebatterycable.
2.Removemulchingbafes,blockerbafe,and
coverplate.
3.Installthedischargebafethatwasremovedin
step4ofInstallingtheMulchKitsection.
4.Replacethemulchingbladeswithstandard
blades.
5.Install5/16-18x5/8inchhexheadcapscrew
andwhizlocknutintheholeontopofthedeck
withtheboltheadunderneath.Install5/16-18x
5/8inchhexheadcapscrewandwhizlocknutin
thetwoholesinthefrontofthedeckwiththebolt
headstotheoutsideofthedeck.Allopenholes
notcoveredbybeltshieldsmustbepluggedto
preventsandorothersmallobjectsfrombeing
thrownupthroughthedeck.
6.Flipdownthedischargedeector.
DANGER
Anuncovereddischargeopening
willallowobjectstobethrowninan
operator'sorbystander'sdirection.Also,
contactwiththebladecouldoccur.
Thrownobjectsorbladecontactcan
causeseriousinjuryordeath.
Neveroperatethemowerwiththeside
dischargedoorraised,removed,or
alteredunlessthereisadischarge
deectorandmulchpluginplaceand
workingproperly.
