Hearing aids are sensitive electronic devices
susceptible to moisture and wax. Please
remember to keep your hearing aids clean and
dry at all times.
Please notice the following directions to help
you in taking care for your aids:
• Whennotwearingyourhearingaids,open
the battery door to allow any moisture to
evaporate.This also helps extend battery life.
Store your hearing aids in a safe, dry place,
away from direct sunlight and avoid extreme
temperatures.
• Donotleaveyourhearingaidsinthe
bathroom while showering.
• Whenyousweat,besuretotakeyourhearing
aids o and allow them to dry for a minimum
of 15 minutes before putting them back on.
• Earwaxisnaturalandcommon,butitcan
cause your hearing aids to feedback (‘whistle’)
or malfunction. It is important to follow the
cleaning instructions for the thin tube and
soft dome (page 27).
• Donotusewater,alcoholorotherliquid
agents to clean hearing aids as they may
damage them. If the hearing aids become
wet, do not attempt to dry them in an oven
or microwave. Open the battery door, remove
the battery and let the hearing aids dry
naturally for 24-48 hours.
• Ifyouliveinahumidclimateorarearound
persistent moisture, consider purchasing
a low cost hearing aid dehumidier or
dryer. Ask your dispenser/audiologist for
information.
• Askyourdoctortoremoveexcessivewax
from your ears, or ask if you can use a
prescription free kit to remove ear wax.

• Removeyourhearingaidsbeforeusinghair
spray, spray perfume or shaving lotions, as
these items can clog or damage your hearing
aids.
• Donotdropyourhearingaidsorknockthem
against hard surfaces.
• Aftersporting,besuretotakeoyour
hearing aids and allow them to dry for a
minimum of 15 minutes before putting them
back on.

What is Xylo?
The Xylo is a thin tube Behind The Ear hearing
aid (BTE) for mild to moderate hearing loss.
The Xylo includes the following features:
• Discretetransparentthintube.
• Opentdomeforminimalocclusion(thisis
when you hear the sound of your own voice
louder than you are normally used to)
• Suitableforcellphoneuse.
• Suitableforcommonoutdooractivities.
• Easytouseandmaintain.
• Contemporarydesigninthreedierent
colors.
• Anadaptivefeedbackcancellationsystem-
this prevents spontaneous‘whistling’of the
device which could happen as you insert it
in your ear. As soon as you have placed the
thin tube in your ear canal, the whistling will
stop and the adaptive feedback system will
protect against feedback.
• Anadaptivenoisereductionsystem-this
improves the hearing comfort in noisy
environments.
• Directionalmicrophonesystem-usedto
improve hearing in noisy environments.
• Fourdierentmemories-Storeuptofour
dierentlisteningsituationsettings.When
programming the Xylo, you may request that
your dispenser programs the memories to
your special environmental needs.
• TheXyloalsofeaturestelecoilconnectivity
(T-coil) which allows audio sources to be
inductively connected to the hearing aid
fromdevicessuchasspecialtelephones,FM
systems (with neck loops), and induction loop
systems (also called“hearing loops”).
