EZ Hang Loveseat Spreader Bar instructions (Spreader Bar is NOT
for hanging the loveseat - see below)
Your EZ Hang Love Seat comes with hanging hardware and chain
suitable for most standard porch swing frames, such as our own
Roman Arch wooden frame (pictured at left). You may, however,
choose to hang yours from a tree limb, porch overhang, or other
suitable structure. Should you decide to hang your loveseat from a
taller structure, you can purchase chain in the proper length and
gauge at any hardware store. Make sure you observe our own 500
lb rating when selecting additional chain and/or hardware, and that
you hang your loveseat from a
structure capable of handling
that weight.
We have included a 51” wooden
spreader bar and 4 mini eyelag
bolts to provide a hang point for
the footrests in taller support
configurations, and/or to support
the optional rain cover. When
hanging your Love Seat from a
hang point taller than 66”, make
use of the spreader bar as a
secondary support point.
Install as follows: Insert two of
the eyelags into the outermost holes of the spreader bar with the
eyes up. Insert the remaining two eyelags into the two centermost
holes, eyes down. Secure the eyelags with the washer next to the
nut, and tighten all nuts securely. Insert two S-hooks into the outer,
up-hanging eyes, and hang the spreader bar 6”-12” above the O-
rings tied to each side of the supporting ropes on the Love Seat. Tie
or hang the footrests to the inner, down-hanging eyes as shown.
IMPORTANT:
The supplied mini-eyelags and spreader bar are NOT
designed to bear the weight of the Love Seat itself, or of any
person, and should NOT in any way be inserted into the
weight bearing system. Do NOT hang any supporting rope,
chain, or the Love Seat off of the mini eyelags or spreader
bar.

InstallingThe Eyelag
Locate ceiling joist (by Stud Finder or tapping and verifying with a
small nail.) Be sure to locate exact center. Using a 3/16” (3mm)
wood drill bit, drill a hole (approx. 4” (10CM) deep) perpendicular to
the ceiling. Screw in two eyelags until all threads have
disappeared into the joist. Make certain the distance apart is
approximately 49”. Do not loosen or adjust once in place.
Important: Holes must be directly in the center of the studs for
maximum weight bearing capacity. Failure to do so could cause
eyelags to loosen.
Assembling and hanging the Love Seat parts. These
should include:
a) cushion piece (1)
b) cup holders (2) Footrests (2)
c) set of bent wooden arms (2 arms)
d) set of spreader bars (2 bars)
e) hardware pack with 8 hex head bolts, washers, 8 nuts
f) eye lags, 2 S hooks, 2 sets of chains
g) square top overhead bar with 4 mini eyebolts
Place the 2 sculpted wooden arms about 50” apart on a flat surface
and place the padded cushion between the upward sloping wooden
arms. (Make sure the ropes are facing upwards.)
Slide the two long round spreader bars through the sleeves on the
underside of the pad.
Slide the 1” round aluminum poles into the right and left sides of the
2 lounger extensions at the front of the chair, sealing them with the
Velcro flaps to secure the poles in place.
Locate and remove the 8 machine bolts, nuts and washers from the
hardware bag. Insert the 8 bolts (2 for each corner of the chair)
through the holes on the round spreader bars, lining them with the
corresponding holes in the wooden arms.
Be sure the ropes are not tangled or caught behind the spreader
bars. They must be free and clear when lifting the chair up.
After all the bolts are placed into the respective holes, thread the
washers over the bolts, from the underside of the chair and then
screw on the nuts. Tighten the nuts until the head of the bolts pull
down into the holes in the front of the round wooden dowels. The
head of the bolts should now be countersunk into the spreader bar.
With a person on each side, raise the chair onto the eye lags with
the “S” hooks provided. If the eye lags are too high, use the chain
provided to bridge the gap.
To adjust the pitch of the Love Seat simply adjust the knots in the
back of the Love Seat.
Place the square spreader bar with “S” hooks by hanging them on
the chain above the “O Rings” at a comfortable height. Make sure
the two center eye bolts are pointing downward as these can be
used to attach footrests.
The chair should now be at a comfortable sitting height. Make sure
that all the ropes are secure, knots are properly tied, and that the
eye lags are properly installed. Also make sure all the bolts are
tightened. Sit on the chair gently as it will stretch at first. You can
always take up the slack at a later time.
To use the lounger extension, simply unfold from beneath the chair
and clip the rope with the hook to the top spreader bar eyelag bolts,
adjusting height most comfortable for you by tying the ropes at
chosen length.
Important Reminders:
 The Loveseat is NOT a swing. We highly recommend
using only a gentle to and from motion.
 Check the eye lag from time to time to make sure it’s holding
fast.
 A periodic visual inspection of the ropes, hardware and other
attachment hardware is recommended.
 Use a readily available fabric protector on the pad and ropes to
resist stains.
 We highly recommend hanging no more than 18” above the
ground.
 The Love Seat has a rated load of 500 pounds.
 Enhance your relaxation with optional springs and
footrests.
Washing And Care Instructions:
Your Loveseat will last longer depending on its use, where
it is installed and the care it is given. It will last longer if you keep it
dry and store it indoors when not in use. To wash, scrub gently with
a soft brush and a mixture of water and a mild laundry detergent.
Warning: Not suitable for washing machines, tumble dryers or
chemical bleaches.
