2 Intended use:
The AquaM40D Bluetooth Version is intended to transmit any leakage-borne noise signals to
the corresponding headphones via Bluetooth. The range of the central unit to the headphones
is limited to approximately 10 metres/11 yards. The noise level is indicated at the central
unit of the AquaM40D.
The AquaM40 is operated in combination with a connected sensor, extension, tripod, or pot
magnet subject to local circumstances. The frequency has to be adjusted appropriately taking
the particular material of the measured pipe section, the pressure, and the size of the leakage
into consideration.

4 Start-up and operation
Both the AquaM40 central unit and the Bluetooth headphones feature in-built batteries.
Before the equipment is operated, please make sure that the batteries have been fully charged
and the battery voltage is sufficient respectively.

The Noise Level LEDs indicate the intensity of the noise acquired. Please note that a leakage-
borne noise does not always or necessarily lead to a full-scale indication of the Level LEDs.
The Level LEDs are for guidance purposes only.
The Bluetooth LED indicates whether a Bluetooth connection has been established. If the
LED is on permanently, a connection has been established. If the LED flashes in intervals, the
device is in the “Pairing Mode”. If the LED is out, there is no Bluetooth connection and the
device will re-activate only the last active Bluetooth connection.
4.1.4 Voltage and charging
The Battery LED of the central unit indicates the voltage status of the accumulator. If this
LED glows permanently, the battery voltage is still sufficient. If the LED flashes slowly, the
accumulator should be recharged.
The central unit is charged through the charging unit [5] and [6] respectively and by applying
the charger leads [8] (as listed in Chapter 1 “Scope of delivery”). The recharging time of the
accumulator is around 2-3 hours. Afterwards the accumulator will be charged with a low
current to preserve the charging-status. As soon as the green LED glows the charger leads
should be removed.

4.2.3 Further functions
Tip VOLUME+ [6] if you wish to increase the volume. The equipment issues a tone as soon
as the maximum volume has been reached.
Tip VOLUME- [7] if you wish to reduce the volume. The equipment issues a tone as soon
as the minimum volume has been reached.
4.2.4 Voltage status / charging
As soon as the red LED on the headphones flashes, the headphones should be charged. As
soon as the equipment issues an audio warning, the headphones will switch off 3 to 5 minutes
later due to insufficient power.
The central unit is charged through the charging unit [5] and [6] respectively and by applying
the charger leads [7] (as listed in Chapter 1 “Scope of delivery”). As soon as the red LED
goes out, the device is fully charged.

blue LED is flashing alternately.
•The headphone is now in pairing mode
During pairing process, hold the headphone and the central unit in direct proximity. When the
connection is established, the Bluetooth LED at the central unit will glow permanently and
the headphone will indicate the established connection with a double “Piep” and accordingly
the blue LED will flash in a 5 second intervall.
5.2 Re-activating a Bluetooth connection
Once a headphone and a central unit has been paired (coupled), the two devices will find each
other automatically after you switch them normal on.
