Always check that the mains voltage corresponds
to the voltage on the rating plate.
The machine is double insulated in accordance
with EN50144; therefore no earth wire is required.
Replacingcablesorplugs
Immediatelythrowawayoldcablesorplugswhenthey
havebeenreplacedbynewones.Itisdangeroustoinsert
theplugofaloosecableinthewalloutlet.
Usingextensioncables
Onlyuseanapprovedextensioncablesuitableforthe
powerinputofthemachine.Theminimumconductor
sizeis1.5mm2.Whenusingacablereelalwaysunwind
thereelcompletely.

PREPARATION

Do not use textured wall paints or coatings as this
will block the nozzle.
Toobtainthebestresults,itisimportantthatyou
preparethesurfacetobesprayedandthinthepaintto
thecorrectviscosity,beforeyouoperateyourspray
gun.Alwaysensurethatthesurfacestobesprayedare
freefromdust,dirtandgrease.Makesurethatyouhave
maskedtheareasthatshouldnotbesprayed,usinga
goodqualitymaskingtape.Thepaintorfluidtobe
sprayedshouldbethoroughlymixedandfreefrom
lumpsorotherparticles.Manysubstancescanbe
sprayedwithyourspraygun,butalwayscheckthe
manufacturersrecommendationsbeforepurchasing
yourpaint.
THINNING
Always remember to disconnect from the mains
supply before filling the paint container with
sprayable material.
Mostpaintsaresuppliedreadyforbrushapplicationand
willneedtobethinnedbeforetheyaresuitabletobe
sprayed.Followthemanufacturersadviceonthinning
thepaintwhenusedwithaspraygun.Theviscositycup
willhelpyoutodeterminethecorrectviscosityofpaint
tobeused.Todeterminethecorrectviscosity,fillthe
cuptothebrimwiththepaint.Measuretheamountof
timeittakesforthecuptoemptybackintothecan.The
tablebelowshowsrecommendedtimesfordifferent
typesofmaterial.

Ifthepainttakeslongerthantherecommendedtimeto
empty,thenfurtherthinningisrequired.Mixinasmall
quantityoftheappropriatethinnerandusetheviscosity
testuntilthecorrectthicknessisachieved.Some
sprayablematerialscontainparticlesandlumps.These
materialsshouldbestrainedbeforefillingthepaint
container.

Fillthepaintcontainerwiththecorrectlythinnedand
strainedpaint.Connectthesprayguntothemains
supply.Aimthespraygunatapieceofscrapmaterialand
operatethetriggerswitchuntilpaintisspraying.Adjust
theoutputcontrol(2)untiltherequiredvolumeofpaint
isspraying.Turntheoutputcontrolinaclockwise
direction(B)toreducetheflowandanti-clockwise(A)
toincreasetheflow.Adjustmentoftheoutputcontrol
willaffectthespraypattern.Apoorspraypatternwill
concentratethepaintinthecentreofthesprayandgivea
blotchyfinish.Agoodspraypatternwillgiveeven
distributionofpaintthroughoutthepattern.

Toobtainthebestresults,keepyourspraygunleveland
paralleltothesurfaceatalltimes.
Keepthenozzle25-30cmfromthesurfaceandspray
evenlyfromsidetosideorupanddown.Donotsprayat
anangleasthiswillleadtopaintrunsonthesurface.Use
smoothandevenstrokes.Whensprayinglargeareas,
useacriss-crosspatternasshown.

Neverstartorstopthespraygunwhileitisaimedatthe
surfacetobesprayed.Evenlycontrolthespeedof
movementofthespraygun.Afastspeedofmovement
overthesurfacewillgiveathincoatandaslowspeedwill
giveaheavycoat.Applyonecoatatatime.Ifafurther
coatisrequired,makesureyouobservethe
manufacturersdryingtimerecommendationsbefore
applyingasecondcoat.Whensprayingsmallareas,keep
theoutputcontrolonalowsetting.Thiswillavoidusing
toomuchpaintandpreventoverspray.Wherepossible,
avoidstoppingandstartingwhensprayinganobject.This
canleadtotoomuch,ornotenoughpaintbeingapplied.
Donottipthesprayguntomorethan45°

orhorizontalsurfaces.Itshouldalsobeusedinareas
withlimitedaccess.

Tofittheflexiblenozzle,unscrewthebasketnozzleand
attachtheflexiblenozzleinit'splace.Replacethebasket
nozzleontheendoftheflexiblenozzleandtighten.
CLEANINGANDMAINTENANCE

Always remember to disconnect from the mains
supply before cleaning the spray gun or paint
container.
Itisessentialthatthesprayguniscleanedthoroughly
aftereveryuse.Failuretocleanitwillalmostcertainly
resultinblockagesanditmaynotoperatewhenyounext
cometouseit!Theguaranteedoesnotcovercleaninga
sprayerthathasnotbeenproperlycleanedbytheuser.
Thefollowingactionmustbetakenafterevery
use.
1. Emptyanyremainingmaterialfromthecontainer.
2. Cleanthecontainerthoroughlywiththethinner
thatwasused.
3. Poursomethinnerintothecontainerandspray
throughthespraygununtilonlycleanthinneris
comingoutofthenozzle.
4. Thoroughlycleanthepaintpickuppipeandfilter
withthinner.
5. Cleanthebasketandnozzleandremoveanyother
debrisorpaintthatremains.
6. Turnthespraygunupsidedownandapplyafew
dropsoflightoiltothetwoapertures(F).Thiswill
lubricatethepistonandcylinder.
Ifyourspraygunshouldrequireextrainternal
cleaning,itmaybenecessarytodisassembleit.If
sothefollowingactionshouldbetaken.
1. Removetheplugfromthemainssocket.
2. Removepaintcontainer,pickuppipeandfilter.
3. Undothe4screws(G).
4. Takeoffthepumpassembly.
5. Releasethenozzle(H),valve(J),piston(K)andspring
(L).
6. Cleanthecylinder(M)andallpartsthoroughlywith
solvent.
7. Applyafewdropsoflightlubricatingoiltothepiston,
springandcylinder.
8. Reassemblethespraygun.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Motorhumsbutdoesnotsprayorirregular
spraying.
•Wornswirlhead
Replace swirl head.
•Pickuppipenotinttherightposition
Re-adjust pick up pipe.
•Blockedpickuppipe
Clean with thinner.
•Blockednozzle
Clean nozzle.
•Blockedfilter
Clean with thinner.
•Controlknobneedsadjustment
Adjust.
2. Atomizationisnotgood.
•Volumeadjustmentisnotcorrect.
Adjust.
•Painttoothick
Check viscosity of the paint.
3. Overpainting.
•Spraygunnotclean,ornotlubricated,resultingin
pistonbeingstuckincylinder
Disassemble spray gun and clean with thinner.
•Toomuchpaint
Adjust the volume clockwise to reduce spraying. Two
thin coats are better then one thick coat.
•Viscositytoolow
Check viscosity
4. Motorlouderthannormal.
•Spraygunnotclean,ornotlubricated,resultingin
pistonbeingstuckincylinder
Disassemble spray gun and clean with thinner.
5. Nospray,nosound.
•Noelectricity
Check power supply.
6. Operatingsoundnotright.
•Pooroutputadjustment
Re-adjust
•Notenoughpaintinthecontainerresultinginair
beingsuckedin.
Refill with paint.
•Notdilutingproperlyornotpassingpickuppipe
completely.
Check pick up pipe and viscosity level.
7. “OrangeSkin”excessivefogging.
•Incorrectsolventisused
Use correct solvent.
•Sprayguntoofarfromthesurface.
Hold spray gun closer to the object.
•Painttoothick
Thin the paint
MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the machine is not live when
carrying out maintenance work on the motor.
TheFermmachineshavebeendesignedtooperateover
alongperiodoftimewithaminimumofmaintenance.
Continuoussatisfactoryoperationdependsupon
propermachinecareandregularcleaning.
CLEANING
Keeptheventilationslotsofthemachinecleanto
preventoverheatingoftheengine.
Regularlycleanthemachinehousingwithasoftcloth,
preferablyaftereachuse.Keeptheventilationslotsfree
fromdustanddirt.
Ifthedirtdoesnotcomeoffuseasoftclothmoistened
withsoapywater.Neverusesolventssuchaspetrol,
alcohol,ammoniawater,etc.Thesesolventsmay
damagetheplasticparts.

maskinhusetregelmæssigtmedenblødklud,helstlige
efterbrugen.Holdventilationsåbningernefriforstøvog
urenheder.Hvisurenhederneikkekanfjernesmedtør
klud,brugenblødkludmedsæbevand.Brugaldrig
opløsningsmidlersompetroleum,alkohol,
ammoniakvandel.lign.Disseopløsningsmidlerkan
skadeplastikdelene.
SMØRING
Maskinenkræveringenyderligeresmøring.
