1. Pulltheclampingringallthewaybackandholditfirmlyinthisposition.
2. Pulltheclampingheadforward–usuallythisisnotnecessary.
3. Insertthetoolinthetapershaft.
4. Turnslightly to the right if necessary.
5. Releasetheclampingring–itwillmoveforwardwithspringpower. Ensure that the tool is
firmlyclamped.
Importantnote: Fornewmachinesandfornewbitsitmaythecasethatinsertionandremoval
issomewhatdifficultand notchy. Do not become impatient – with a little practice you will
succeedininsertingandremovingtools.Lightlyoilthebitshaftbeforeyouinsertitinthechuck.

• De roterende dele inde i maskinen er nu synlige. Disse dele skal dækkes med fedtstof.
• Kom om nødvendigt lidt fedtstof i smøreåbningen.

Achuckwith SDS-10shaftis shipped withtheproduct. Please notethatthe machine isparticularly
suitedfor hammer drilling,thechuck should only beusedfor occasional simpledrillwork.
• Usethechuckkeytoopenandclosethechuck.
• Introducethechuckkeyintooneofthethreeholesinthechuckandopenthechuckby
turninganticlockwise,closethechuckbyturningclockwise.
• Alwaysremovethechuckkeyfromthechuck. Neverrunthemachinewiththechuckkey
inserted.
• Ensurethattheswitch(1)isintheOFFposition.
• Onlyconnectthedevicetothemainspowerifthisisthecase.
Usertips
Alwaysusethemachinewiththeauxiliaryhandgripfirmlyanchoredinplace–youwillnotonly
workwithmorecomfort,youwillalsoworkwithmoreprecision.
Hammer drilling in concrete or brick
Caution:Stonedrillscangetveryhot.
Itmaybenecessarytodrillwithsmallerbitsandre-drilltonominalsizesothatlatertheplugis
firmlyseated.
Forlargebores,forinstanceinveryhardconcrete,useasmallerbitforpilotdrillingandre-drill
tonominalsize.
Donotapplyalotofpressureonthemachine,letthemachinedothework,guidingthemachine
withlightpressureissufficient.
Holdthemachinewiththeauxiliaryhandle,thebitcanjam,particularlywithdeepbores,andthe
machinewillturn.
Chipping in concrete and brick
You can also use the machine for chipping.
Priortostartingworkensurethatthefrontselectionswitchandhandleselectionswitcharefully
engaged.Donotoperatethehammerdrillwithselectionswitchesinmidposition.Onlychange
thefunctionwhenthemotorhascometoastandstill.
Hereaswell:Donotapplyalotofpressureonthemachine,letthemachinedothework,guiding
themachinewithlightpressureissufficient.
5.MAINTENANCE
Take care that the machine is not connected to power whenever maintenance work
on the mechanical parts is taking place.
Themachinesaredesignedtofunctionproblem-freeforalongperiodwithaminimumof
maintenance.Through regular cleaning and correct treatment, you help assure a long working

Checkthecarbonbrushesregularlyforwearanddamage.Replacebothcarbonbrushesatthe
sametime.
Openthecoverforthecarbonbrushes(Fig.A–No. 5) with a screwdriver
Removetheusedcarbonbrushes.
Changethecarbonbrusheswhentheyhaveworndowntoapproximately1/3oftheiroriginal
length.
Carefullyinsetthenewbrushesandclosethecoverwithascrewdriver. It takes a little patience
toworkwithnewcarbonbrushesbecausewithnewbrushesthecontactforceofthespringsis
stillquitehigh.
Ifnecessarycontactanelectricianforhelp.
Ensurethatthecoverisfirmlyseated.
Cleaning
Cleanthemachinecasingsregularlywithasoftcloth,preferablyaftereachuse.Makesurethat
theventilationopeningsarefreeofdustanddirt.Removeverypersistentdirtusingasoftcloth
moistenedwithsoapsuds.Donotuseanysolventssuchasgasoline,alcohol,ammonia,etc.

Hammerboring i beton eller teglsten
Forsigtig: Stenborkanblivemegetvarme.
Forborigivetfaldmedmindrebor, og bor med nominel størrelse, så ravplugge senere sidder
godtfast.
Ved meget store boringer,f.eks. i meget hårdt beton, skal man forbore med et mindre bor og
boremednominelstørrelse.
Trykikke maskinen hårdt ind, men lad den derimod arbejde selv, det er nok, at føre maskinen
medletkraft.
Holdmaskinenmedekstrahåndtaget,daboretisærveddybeboringerkansættesigfast,så
maskinendrejer.
Mejsling i beton og teglsten

• Lubricatethedrillchuckofthehammerdrillregularly.
• You must check the lubricant level in the machine regularly:
• Remove the lubricant cover (Fig. Aand Fig. E – no. 6) at the top of the machine by
turning in the OFF direction, you may need needle nose pliers for this.
• Remove the second interior cover as well.
• The rotating parts inside the machine are now visible. These parts should be covered
with grease.
• If necessary apply some grease in the lubrication opening.
• Replace the cover on the opening and turn it tightly.
• Replace the lubrication cover by turning it in the ON direction.
Faults
Shouldafaultoccur, e.g. after wear of a part, please contact the service address on the
warrantycard.Inthebackofthismanualyoufindanexplodedviewshowingthepartsthatcan
beordered.
Environment
Topreventdamage duringtransport,the applianceisdelivered ina solidpackagingwhich consists
largelyof reusablematerial.Thereforepleasemake useof options forrecycling thepackaging.
