These operating instruction provide you with all information necessary for correct , safe and prescribed usage and
maintenance of the carpet sweeper (all the models). They must be kept where they are accessible to the user at all times.
PRESCRIBED USAGE
This machine is designed for the professional cleaning according to these operating instructions.
Any other usage, in particular, for the removal of types of dust which may be dangerous to health, is prohibited.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This machine is designed and constructed according to the present state of the art and recognized technical safety
standards. It is fitted with protective devices, following safety European standard rules. Dangers can occur in spite of this,
in particular in the case of non correct use or non-compliance with the specifications and information in the operating
instructions.
All our equipment are covered by international assurances against risks.
1) SOURCES OF DANGER
-Electrical voltage / Electric current
-Warning: Danger
Contact with voltage or current carrying parts carries the risk of electric shock which can result in serious injury or even
death. Never touch damaged cables. Always switch off and disconnect the power supply before carrying out any work on
the machine. Replace faulty cables immediately.
2) IMPROPER USAGE
Any usage of the machine for a purpose not covered under the “Prescribed usage” or contractually agreed purpose is not
permissible. The use of the machine in an unserviceable condition or not in compliance with the following prescription is
prohibited:
-Protective devices must not be removed or bypassed.
-Conversions and modification to the machine are not permitted.
-Defective supply cables are only to be replaced by original FIORENTINIcables.
-Coupling elements between mains supply or detachable extension cables must be at least splashproof.
-The machine is to be fitted with a type H circuit breaker for rated current of 10 A .
3) ORGANISATIONAL POINTS
It is the responsibility of the operator to ensure that:
-The machine is used only by personnel who have been instructed in its handling and authorized to useit.
-The recognized occupational safety regulations are observed.
-Any further national or internal company regulations are observed.
-All users are acquainted with the safety regulations and trained in the useof the specificmachine.
-All users have read and understood the operating instructions.
-Responsibilities for the operation, maintenance and repair of the machine are clearly assigned andobserved.
-Faults and damage are immediately notified to the Service Agent of FIORENTINI.
4) IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY
-Pull out the mains connector plug.
-Immediately apply recognized first-aid measures.
After incidents, do not resume operation with the machine until it has been inspected by FIORENTINI authorized
technical.
5) OPERATING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Delivery, instruction on safety rules, handling and maintenance as well as operation for the first time must be carried
following the specification of this instruction book. The operator is responsible for instructing the users.

IN THE RELEVANTSECTIONS AND MUST BE COMPLIED WITH!

IMPORTANT NOTES
BEFORE STARTING TO USE THE CLEANER PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING POINTS:
-If you should discover any damage when unpacking the cleaner please informyour saleagency.
-The supply voltage must be the same as that shown on the nameplate.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION AND SUPPLY
WARNING: - This appliance must be earthed!
-Check that the supply voltage details given on the rating plate are in accordance with your electricitysupply.
CAUTION!
-The cleaner should never be used for picking up hot ashes, explosive fluids or undiluted acids or solvents. These
include petrol, paint thinner and heating oil, all of which can generate explosive mixtures or vapors when swirled
together with the suction air. Acetone, undiluted under acids and solvents would attack the materials from which
the machine is made.
WARNING NOTE
-For cleaning or servicing the cleaner or when replacing parts, the motor should be switched off and the
connecting plug be withdrawn from the socket.
-Care should be taken to ensure that the connecting cable is not damage by being driven over, crushed, strained,
etc.
-The connecting cable should be regularly checked for any signs of damage or ageing.
-The machine must not be used if the connecting cable is not in a proper condition.
-For suction of dry dust, check that the filter are in the carpetsweeper.
-Do not clean the vacuum with a water pipe to avoid that water get through the vacuumhead.
GOODS TO BE RETURNED
In case of goods to be returned for warranty replacement, it is necessary to have a written acceptance from
FIORENTINI technical department before sending them.
All defective parts must be carefully packed in order to avoid further damages during transport.
Goods must be shipped ex-warehouse and followed by :
serial number of the equipment where they were installed on;
itemcode of the defective part;
detailed description of the defect and of the condictions where ithappened.
In case of defective electric or electronic goods,
please return them separately from other materials,
in order to help us in dividing dangerous wastegoods
and recicle the (RAEE) as DER 2002/96/CEE LOW.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
CONNECTING OF THE CARPET SWEEPER TO THE BRUSH HEAD
Insert the upper part of the carpet sweeper into the brush head, keeping it in vertical position. The knob “1.1” must be
turned leftwards during this connecting or disconnecting. After the insertion turn the knob in vertical position again.
FLEXIBLE HOSE CONNECTION
After that the carpet sweeper is insert into the brush head connect the connection “2.1” to the upper carpet sweeper cover.
The connection “2.2” must be keep in the low part of the upright, reaching the brush head
joint.
OPERATION/STAND-BY
To start operation, press the block pedal “3.1” and tilt the carpet sweeper backwards, after push on start switch. To stop
operation, switch off keeping it in vertical position.
Attention:
Never drive the operating carpet sweeper above its own electric cable. Lift the carpet sweeper when going into stairs or
high thresholds.

MANUAL SUCTION/BRUSH SUCTION
The carpet brush starts automatically when the manual suction pipe is located in its seat on the motor casing. If the
manual suction pipe is removed from its seat to manually suck the dust, the carpet brush automatically stops.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE CARPET BRUSH
The carpet brush can be adjusted according to the height of the carpet. You can reach the required position turning the
adjusting knob “4.1” and choosing among the 4 positions available. The chosen position can be read in the corresponding
display.
Position 1 -low pile carpet
Position 4 -very high pile carpet
BRUSH ELECTRONIC CONTROL
The electronic control of the brushes checks continuously the brush operation (fig. 5).
Your carpet cleaner has several built in safeguards to protect components from overload damage. The electronic circuitry
that operates the red light on the base indicates that the motor is overloading because the brush height is set too low or
there is debris hindering the movement of the brush roller.
If the overload is excessive circuitry will shut of the brush motor and the red light will stay on until the problem is
corrected. When the problem is corrected turn the switch off, wait for a moment and turn it back on. Make sure you
unplug the machine while inspecting the brush roller for debris.
Green light: regular brush operation
Green and red light: if you have the adjusting knob in position 1, control if the brush is in good condition and no dirty
clogs the rotation of the brush. If the red light continues change the brush.
In the position 2-3-4 adjusting knob forhave less pressure on carpet. If you are in position 2, adjust knob at position 3.
Red light: locked brush (see Care and Maintenance)
RED LIGHT (bag full light), placed in the upper cover of the upright .
If warning light comes on, check if the red light goes on, check if:
a) the paper filter is full
b) the carpet brush is clogged
c) the vacuum hose is clogged
Then replace the filter or eliminate obstructions.

Notice: during operation with the suction hose, the manual pipe can get closed. The light will go on but there is no any
failure.
PAPER BAG REPLACEMENT
To replace paper bag open the upper cover of the carpet sweeper. Pull out the paper bag.
BRUSH STRIP REPLACEMENT
Unscrew the 3 screws placed under the brush head “6.2” remove out the brush, remove the RH support “6.3” and remove
the brush strip “6.1” and replace it with new one.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Blocked brush:
The brush motor is stopped by the electronic unit built-in in the carpet sweeper. The red light shows this state.
Remedy: Disconnect the carpet sweeper from mains, check if the brush is dirty and remove any possible blocking object.
Restart the carpet sweeper.
Clogged hose:
Stop the carpet sweeper, remove the hose fromthe brush head. Draw the hose in horizontal position and start the carpet
sweeper. If the obstruction still persists, remove it by means of a stab or similar mean.
