BATTERY CHARGING GUIDELINES
The assembly of the FV-31 Cypher can be accomplished in
less than one hour. Prior to assembling the aircraft, it is
advisable to charge your battery so that you are ready to begin
setup upon completion of the assembly of your model.
We recommend the use of an advanced Li-Po balancing
charger for your batteries to get the maximum performance
and lifespan.
Our aircraft are designed around our Potenza Li-Po batteries,
and we recommend the Potenza 6S 2200mAh 45C Li-Po
based on our extensive testing and development. These
batteries feature an EC3 connector, so no soldering is required
for use in your Cypher.
All are available at flexinnovations.com

WARNING
1. Set the servo arm to the closest spline to achieve 90-Degrees. Use transmitter subtrim on channel 6 to get arm to 90-degrees.
2. Move your Flight Configuration switch (Channel 6) to the 45 degree "magic mode" position. Loosen the 1.5mm set screws as well
the phillips screw to loosen the control arm on the rotation shaft. Rotate the control horn on the shaft until the control arm is set to
110-degrees relative to the servo case. The control arm should be slightly tilted towards the tail.
3. Continue with Rear Fan Angle Adjustment per step 2, page 21 (and beyond) of included manual
FV-31 CYPHER 6S REAR FAN ADJUSTMENT
2
Due to the higher power of the Cypher 6S, it is imperative to set the servo arm to 90-degrees in 45-degree mode
and set the control arm to approximately 10 degrees off of 90-degrees towards the tail of the aiplane. Failure to
set correctly may cause the linkage to collapse, resulting in the aircraft becoming uncontrollable.

110
Servo Arm 90-deg to servo case
Control Arm relative to servo case = 110-Deg
Please follow this addendum instead of step 1 on page 21 of manual.

PAGE 8 - SPEKTRUM TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER SETUP (CONTINUED)
Some of receivers listed on the Cypher manual are no longer available. We recommend the following Spektrum receivers.
Note, receivers listed on the cypher manual, can still be used.
Spektrum DSMX / DSMX2 with Telemetry (SPM4651T) - Highest Recommended Via Connection 2 (w/t telemetry)
Spektrum AR6610T (SPMAR610T)
Connection B
Connect to the FLEXF3 board in this manner to simplify setup, as it does not require the use of a PC or mobile application
for receiver setup. with use of DSMX2 receiver (such as recommended SPM4651T receiver) PC or mobile application
setup still required for Beginner profile calibration. This works with MOST Spektrum telemetry capable receivers. See the
Cypher wiki page for further details.
Connection A
Connect to the FLEXF3 board in this manner to use a non-telemetry receiver and forego use of Betaflight telemetry. This does
require the use of the Betaflight PC application or SpeedyBee mobile application to configure. See the Cypher wiki page for
further details.
wiki.flexinnovations.com/wiki/Cypher
Note, Despite some receivers being no longer correct. Pictures are still correct for connection reference.

Cypher LE 6s Manual Addendum
PAGE 34-35 Steps 1-3 FAN INSTALLATION
Front Fan Blades must be removed and reinstalled with addition of blue thread-locker.
WARNING
Due to the higher power of the Cypher LE 6S, failure to use blue thread-locker and properly tighten the front fan
blades, can result in the front fan blade/s departing the aircraft resulting in the aircraft becoming uncontrollable
in the hover configuration and 45-degree "magic" configuration.
PAGE 26 Step 2 VERTICAL FIN INSTALLATION
This step should read: Once the vertical fins have dried, use a #1 Phillips screwdriver and the screws removed from the tilt
setup section to secure the rear hatch assembly onto the fuselage. Note that the two larger diameter screws are used for the
front mount locations.
PAGE 27 Step 2 MAIN WING INSTALLATION
When installing the wing, the corner of the aft edge aligning tab interferes slightly with the socket. It can be simply pushed in
from the tip and will pop right in. If you prefer, you can use a sharp knife to chamfer the corner of the tab a few millimeters.
PAGE 28 Step 4 MAIN WING INSTALLATION (CONTINUED)
Tape is only needed on bottom side of wing to retain wings. While you can add tape to the top of the wing, we would
recommend not putting tape on painted surfaces.
PAGE 29 Step 2 ELEVON SETUP
Once the elevon is aligned with the gauge, we recommend turning the clevis 1.5 turns inwards resulting in a shorter linkage /
slight down elevator relative to the elevon gauge. The Gauge was designed to set the elevons conservatively which makes
the cypher climb on transition. Turning the Gauge in 1.5 turns in our experience has been a good starting point for level flight.
