Important recommendations
Before attempting any installation work, it is very important to check how much space is available
to fit the speakers into the vehicle.

• Ensure the speaker is clean from debris and metallic particles that maybe attached (especially after drilling).
• Clean before mounting the speakers.

- The components of this dedicated kit are compatible with this vehicle’s original connectors and fixings.
- Take extreme care when installing, particularly when removing rivets from the speaker and when reassembling.
- Only the use of appropriate quality tools can guarantee optimal installation.
- Connectors are fragile electronic components. Handle with care.
- Follow these instructions correctly to ensure the proper functioning of the IFVW golf 6 kit.
- Before restarting your system, check your car radio settings (which differ according to the vehicle’s model,
version and engine).

Dismantling the door panel and installing the speaker.
Dismantle to gain access to the screws.

Remove the 4 torx head screws.

Dismantle the door controls.
Remember to reconnect the door cable after installation.

Dismantle the door panel (using the FOCAL tool provided).
Remove the door panel.

Disconnect the connector plugs (window switches, multiplexer, outside rear-view mirror…).

Disconnect the original speaker connector.
Drill out the original rivets (x4 per woofer).
Use the drill bit provided with the IFVW Golf 6 kit.
Remove the original speaker.
Separate the speaker from its mounting (using the
tool supplied with the kit).

Assemble the Focal speaker using the rivets provi-
ded with the kit.
Warning: use riveting pliers with a long enough
headpiece to avoid damaging the speaker.
Put the fasteners in the “unlock” position before
reassembling the door panel.
Reconnect the Focal speaker (equipped with VW
connector).

Installing the tweeter in the door.
Dismantle the original tweeter mounting (using the
Focal tool provided).
Place the two plastic clips onto the Focal tweeter mounting.
Remove the two plastic clips from the original part.
Place the rubber washer onto the door frame.
Remove the rubber washer from the tweeter moun-
ting.

Reassemble the Focal tweeter mounting and reconnect (equipped with VW connector).
