property caused by or due to equipment failure, breakdown or
accident, fire or operation or utilization of the Goods otherwise
than in accordance with the User Guide or by or due to any
other cause or circumstance beyond the control of the Company.
f) The Company's liability under this Warranty shall in no event
and under no circumstances exceed the price paid by the
Customer to the Company for the Goods stated in the Invoice.
General
For the purpose of this Warranty the following expressions shall have
the following meanings respectively.
1. ‘The Goods’ shall mean the goods described in the Order Form.
2. ‘The Customer’ shall mean the original purchaser of the Goods
from the Company.
3. The Company shall mean the firm officially importing & marketing
'FORBES WATER PURIFIERS' in the country under consideration.
4. General Terms and Conditions shall mean the terms and
conditions agreed upon by the Customer and the Company
printed on the Order Form.
5. ‘Invoice’ shall mean the invoice issued by the Company to the
Customer describing the Goods and indicating, inter alia, the total
purchase price thereof and name of the Customer.
6. ‘User Guide’ shall mean the instructions for installation, use and
maintenance contained in the leaflet supplied by the Company.
Post Warranty
1. The Customer may be offered a yearly Service Contract in the
prevailing Company rates and terms.
2. In case the Customer does not wish to enter the Service Contract,
he has the option of calling our Service Centre and having his
Forbes Water Purifier serviced on an actual basis i.e. by paying
for Labour cost and Spares needed to attend to that Service /
Complaint call at the prevailing Company rates. Such service will
be rendered by the Company in towns / places where the
Company has its Service Centres.
3. The Company will provide free servicing of the Goods brought to
its Service Centre by the Customer, provided that all expenses of
transporting the Goods to and from the Service Centre shall be
borne by the customer directly.
4. If during such servicing it is necessary for the Company to replace
or repair defective components or parts, the Customer shall be
required to pay for the same as per the Company’s prevailing
price-list.

The Goods are warranted against defects arising from faulty designs,
workmanship and materials for a period of 12 months from the date
of installation or 15 months from the date of sale whichever is earlier,
subject to the following conditions.
1. The Customer will notify the Company in writing promptly of any
defects noticed and give the Company or its authorized agent
adequate opportunity to inspect, test and remedy them for which
the Customer will deposit the Goods if so required by the
Company, with the Company’s Office/Service Centre along with
original invoice, in the city where they are sold.
2. Inspection and Test Report of the Company’s Office/Service
Centre will be final and binding under the Warranty for
determining defects, repairs/alterations required or carried out or
certifying working of the Goods thereafter.
3. Forbes Water Purifier may require initial setting post-installation,
depending on varying water conditions and power supply. In case
of any service requirement post-installation, please contact the
Company's Service Centre.
4. The Company or its authorized agent will be entitled to retain any
defective part replaced under the Warranty.
5. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained or implied by
this Warranty:
a) The Company's liability under this Warranty shall be limited to
the first sale of the Goods by the Company to the Customer
and will not apply or extend to any secondary sale of Goods
by the Customer.
b) The Company's liability under this Warranty shall be limited
only to defects in the Goods which occur under the conditions
of normal operation of the Goods and their proper and
prescribed use. The Warranty does not cover or extend to
defects which are determined by the Company or its
authorized agents as occurring or resulting from or
attributable to negligence, abuse, misuse, faulty care,
operation or maintenance or repairs, alterations to the Goods
or any part thereof by others of the use of the Goods on
electrical supply for which they are not designed or damage
caused by lightning or other electrical disturbances or
interruptions.
c) The Company's liability under this Warranty shall remain valid
only if the Goods are duly installed by the Company or its
authorized agent at the location specified in the Invoice such
installation is undertaken by the Company or its authorized
agent or franchisee.
d) Consumable items like Sediment Cartridge and Activated
Carbon which are subject to normal wear and tear are not
covered by this Warranty.
e) The Customer will have no claim against the Company, its
employees and its authorized agents or franchisees under or
pursuant to this Warranty in respect of death or injury to the
Customer or any other person or loss or damage to any

The process of e-boiling+ is part of a comprehensive
3-Stage Purification Process. Ultra-violet rays are used
to destroy waterborne disease-causing micro-
organisms, thereby ensuring that every drop of water
from a Forbes Water Purifier is as pure, as safe as
water boiled for 20 minutes. Plus more.

Activated Carbon Chamber
The water then passes through a specially treated
antibacterial activated carbon, which reduces colour,
odour, organic, chemical impurities and free gases
like chlorine.
Ultra-Violet Chamber
The next stage is where the water is subjected to ultra-
violet treatment where ultra-violet rays electro-boil
water. This is a proven method for eliminating
waterborne disease-causing bacteria, viruses and
protozoans. In fact, Forbe’s ultra-violet germicidal
dosage destroys all known waterborne disease-causing
micro-organisms while retaining essential minerals and
nutrients in the water. The UV treated water is always
safe to drink. Moreover, Forbes Classic has a UV lamp
of 8 Watts which purifies more water in less time.

The Sediment Filter
The water first passes through the sediment filter
which incorporates a specially developed multi-
layered yarn cartridge (please refer to diagram on
page 4). This strains out physical impurities present in
the water, such as dust, dirt and mud.

Your Forbes Water Purifier has a one-year warranty
(please refer to warranty terms in this user guide) after
which we advise you to enter into our 'Forbes Service
Plan', an Annual Service Maintenance Contract that is an
investment for the smooth functioning of your Forbes
Water Purifier and for your family's health.
Forbes Service Plan provides:
1) Two routine check-up visits every year during
which your Forbes Water Purifier is thoroughly
checked and cleaned.
2) Replacement of the Sediment Filter and Activated
Carbon. Our trained technicians will examine your
existing filter/cartridge and will clean/replace as per
the requirement.
3) Replacement of any exhausted parts, including
Ultra-violet Lamp.
4) All replacements are done with genuine, thoroughly
inspected service spares.

Fit plug into socket. To switch on the unit,
press the ‘power’ ( ) switch.
The red LED will glow for 5 seconds
indicating that the power is on.
After 5 seconds the yellow LED will glow
for around 30 seconds indicating that the
unit is processing water.
When the green LED glows, you’ll hear
3 beeps indicating that the unit is ready
to deliver clear, safe drinking water.
To let the water flow, flick the toggle
switch.
If the unit has not been used for a day or
two, allow 2-3 glasses of water to flow out
before using the water.
If the unit is not going to be used for
more than 3-4 hours, remember to shut
off the main switch and the water supply.
In case the water does not flow when you switch on
the Forbes Classic, the red LED will blink and an alarm
will sound.
Please check for any disruption in the water supply or
main electricity supply to the Forbes Classic. If both are
not functioning normally, then call our service technicians.
In case of low voltage, the yellow LED blinks with a
beeping sound. Switch off the unit till the voltage comes
back to normal.

Important suggestions
4When your Forbes Water Purifier is
not in use, please keep the outlet
spout covered with the cap.
4Switch off the main switch when
your Forbes Water Purifier will not
be used for more than 3-4 hours.
4Store water from your Forbes Water
Purifier in clean containers. For
hygienic reasons it is preferable not
to store water for more than 2 days.
4We recommend routine check-ups
of your Forbes Water Purifier at
least once in 6 months.
4If your Forbes Water Purifier has not
been used for a long time, allow 2-3
glasses of water to flow out before
collecting the water for use.
7Spill water on any panel of your
Forbes Water Purifier as this may
lead to electric shock.
7Store water from your Forbes Water
Purifier in matkas and candle filters,
as the water can get recontaminated.
7Connect ordinary pipes, tubing to
the outlet spout to collect water
from your Forbes Water Purifier.
7Use extension box for power

Tips for a long relationship with your Forbes Classic:
1. The key word is cleanliness
Keep the area around your Forbes Classic clean and
dry. Wipe your Forbes Classic with a soft cloth once in
a while. Keep the spout clean and closed with the
cap provided.
2. Keep the Sediment Filter clean
To ensure that the sediment filter works well, have it
thoroughly cleaned by our serviceman during every
routine service.
3. Activated Carbon
To ensure that Activated Carbon works effectively, insist
on having it thoroughly cleaned by our serviceman
during every visit.
4. Backflush the Sediment Filter
1) Disconnect the EVA tubes from the inlet and outlet of
the pre-filter. 2) Connect the tube from the tap to the
outlet nozzle. 3) Leave the other nozzle of the pre-filter
open. 4) Turn the tap on to maximum pressure and let
the water flow for about 10 minutes. 5) Reconnect the
inlet and outlet nozzle as before.
Do not interchange the inlet and outlet of the pre-filter as
the candle may get clogged.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Forbes use an Anodized Aluminium Chamber?
Anodizing is a special process which helps in increasing
the reflectivity of the UV rays. UV reflectivity of anodized
aluminium is 73% as compared to that of stainless steel
which is only 38%. Enhanced UV reflectivity means better
efficiency. Hence, Forbes uses anodized aluminium.
How long and where should one store the water?
Forbes water should be stored in a cool, clean place,
preferably in steel or glass containers. Ensure that the
storage vessels are rinsed with water from Forbes and the
containers are covered with clean lids. For hygienic
reasons, it's preferable to replace the stored water after
2 days.
Does drinking water from Forbes make you lose your
natural immunity?
Forbes gives you clear, safe drinking water, thus reducing
the risk of exposure to waterborne diseases. It does not
affect your body’s natural immunity in any way.
Is UV (ultra-violet) light dangerous and is drinking UV
treated water harmful?
In Forbes, the ultra-violet chamber is completely enclosed
and the UV light is not allowed to escape. Moreover, UV
light has no residual effect in water and hence it is totally
safe.
Do you need to boil or filter water from Forbes?
Forbes is a complete purification system that gives you
clear and safe water. Hence no need to boil or filter
the water.
Which water purification treatment is most suitable?
This depends largely on the quality of your input water. In
most parts of the world we have water contaminated with
physical, organic and microbiological impurities. These
result in various waterborne diseases. Forbes water
purifiers effectively handle all the above, giving you pure
and safe water. However, if your water contains high levels
of TDS, unpotable inorganic contaminants like heavy
metals, lead, etc. or the water tastes brackish, then you
need the Forbes Reviva Reverse Osmosis System.
