Franklin Thermoelectric Ready-to-Drink Wine Cellar
This unit can be used to store red wine at temperatures in the mid-60°’s, or when set at the
mid-50°’s to store white or red wine, or as a ready-to-drink wine cellar that can be used to keep
wine on the kitchen countertop during parties and other functions that require more than one
bottle of wine.
1.Setup and Start
Thiswinecellarcanbepluggedintoanystandard120V60Hzsocketthathasbeenproperly
installed and grounded.
IMPORTANT!Foryourpersonalsafety,thisappliancemustbeproperlygrounded. Itisequippedwith
a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an
outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
Whentheunitispluggedinyouwillnothearanyoperatingnoises. Thereisafaninsidethe
unit,buteachtimeyouopenthedoor,thefanautomaticallygoesoff. Otherthantheinternal
fan, there are no moving parts in the unit.
2.Adjusting the Temperature
Onthebackoftheunitisacylindricalthermostatknobthatcanbeturnedtoraiseorlower
theinsidetemperature. Justadjustthisknobuntilthetemperatureisrightforthewineyou
are storing. Use a thermometer to check the temperature.
3.Recovery Time
One characteristic of thermoelectric units is the length of time the unit requires to recover
from having the door opened and shut. It is necessary to wait several hours for the
temperaturetoreturntoitsformerleveloncethedoorhasbeenopened. Thisisnormalfor
this type of unit.
4.Use of Extension Cords
Avoid the use of an extension cord because of the potential safety hazards under certain
conditions. Ifitisnecessarytouseanextensioncord,besuretousea3-wireextensioncord
thathasa3-bladegroundingplug. Usea3-slotoutletthatwillaccepttheplug. Themarked
rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the electric rating of the
appliance.
5.Temperature Range
Allwinesarebeststoredonalong-termbasis(over1year)at54-55°F. Thiscellarisbuiltto
storewinesatthistemperature. Mostpeoplewillusethiscellarforwhitewines,whichareat
their best when stored at 54-55°F. As for red wines, they are at the peak of flavor at
temperatures of 64-66°F. Setting the thermostat to Minimum will allow you to store red
winessuccessfullyinthiscellar. Atthistemperatureyoucanremovethebottle,decantthe
wine and immediately be able to drink it at its optimum temperature.
