Termination power (TERM POWER jumper)
The TERM POWER jumper sets the power supply for the terminating resistors on the SCSI bus. The
terminating resistors can be provided with power by the drive or the SCSI bus.
Termination power via the streamer = TERM POWER inserted
TERMPOWER
Termination power via other SCSI devices = TERM POWER not inserted
TERM POWER jumper not inserted = power supply from SCSI bus
i
The terminating resistors of the SCSI bus should be as far as possible provided by the
SCSI adapter (add-on card or onboard). This is the default setting (TERM POWER not
inserted) of the streamer.
Termination/terminating resistor
The last device at both ends of the SCSI bus must be equipped with a terminating resistor. Devices
that are not connected to the end of the SCSI bus must not be terminated.
If you run the streamer as the last device on the SCSI bus, you must connect an active terminating
resistor to the SCSI interface of the streamer. The active wide SCSI terminating resistor can either
already have been integrated in the SCSI cable or be connected as a separate connector.
i
A passive or SE terminating resistor is not allowed.
