may reduce air flow�
11� Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts�
12� Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes�
13� Do not use without vacuum bag and/or filters in place�
14� Use extra care when cleaning on stairs�
15� Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they may be present�
16� Do not attempt to service the unit while appliance is plugged in�

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This product is equipped with a polarized alternating current line
plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other)�
This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way� This is a
safety feature� If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the
outlet, try reversing the plug� If the plug should still fail to fit,
contact an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet� Do not
defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug�

How to Attach the Handle to the Vacuum Cleaner
1� Slide the handle tube into the connector, aligning the hole in the
handle tube with the molded hole at the top of the connector (Fig�1)�
2� Remove the screw from the plastic sleeve on the front of the handle
tube behind the outer bag (Fig� 2)� Unzip the outer bag� Insert the
screw through the hole in the back of the outer bag (Fig� 3) and
through the plastic sleeve, so the plastic sleeve remains in its original
position between the outer bag and the handle tube�
3� Hold the hex nut in front of the connector in the hex shaped cavity
while inserting the screw with your finger from the back� Tighten the
screw while placing your finger over the hex cavity to hold the hex
nut in place� After a few turns, tighten further with a Phillips head
screwdriver� Do not overtighten (Fig� 4)�
4� Remove screw from the filter cover� Remove filter cover� Insert the
connector plug into the back of the unit making sure the connector
plug is fully inserted� Replace filter cover (Fig� 5)�
On/Off Switch
1� To turn the vacuum on, push the switch located on the handle to the
( I ) position (Fig� 6)�
2� To turn the vacuum off, push the switch located on the handle to the
( 0 ) position (Fig� 6)�

Always operate the vacuum cleaner with a vacuum bag installed�
Bags should be changed when they are 2/3 full�
1� Unplug the vacuum cleaner�
2� Unzip the outer bag� Remove the collar retainer by pressing on the
two tabs and pulling the top toward you (Fig� 1)�
Dispose of the vacuum bag�
3� Slide the collar of the new vacuum bag completely into the collar
retainer (Fig� 2)�
4� Push the collar retainer back into position and secure in place�
5� Tuck the remainder of the vacuum bag completely inside the outer
bag� Make sure it lays flat, top to bottom, without bunching�
Zip the outer bag (Fig� 3)�
How to Change the Vacuum Bag
Your vacuum cleaner is equipped with a post-motor HEPA filter�
This filter captures fine dust particles and protects the motor from dirt�
Accumulated dirt on the filter may restrict motor performance�
It is important to change the filter regularly, approximately once a year or
as needed�
1� Unplug the vacuum cleaner� Remove the filter cover (Fig� 4)�
2� Remove the HEPA filter�
3� Insert a new filter and replace the filter cover (Fig� 5)�

1� To release the handle, step on the nozzle and pull back the handle (Fig� 1)�
2� Upright position – for storage (Fig� 2)�
3� Middle position – for normal cleaning (Fig� 3)�
4� Low position – for cleaning under furniture (Fig� 4)�

1� The upper cord storage hook has a quick-release action�
To release the cord, rotate the hook downward and the cord will drop off the handle for
immediate use (Fig� 5)�
2� Return the hook to the upright position before attempting to rewind the cord (Fig� 6)�

Your Fuller Brush Speedy Maid vacuum cleaner is designed with an automatic self-adjusting nozzle� No manual
adjustments are required� The height of the nozzle is instantly and automatically adjusted to carpet pile height� This self-
adjusting feature allows the nozzle to float evenly over all carpet pile surfaces�

1� Unplug the vacuum cleaner�
2� Turn the vacuum cleaner over and remove the three screws from the bottom of the
nozzle (Fig� 1)�
3� Grip both the top cover and base while turning unit back over� Lift off top cover�
4� To remove the brushroll, pull the right side of the brushroll toward the front of the
nozzle as you lift slowly (Fig� 2)�
5� Clean hair, string and carpet fibers from the brushroll� If there is an excessive amount
of hair and debris, remove the brushroll for proper cleaning�
6� Check the vacuum belt� If it is stretched, cracked or broken, remove the brushroll
and replace the belt�
7� To replace the brushroll, insert the left end into the slot on the nozzle then slide the
right end into the slot on the nozzle until it clicks into place� Turn the brushroll by
hand to ensure the belt isn’t twisted and all rotating parts move smoothly�
8� Align the 3 tabs on the top cover with the 3 slots in the nozzle� Press into place,
making sure the soft bumper is on the outside�
9� Turn the vacuum cleaner over and reinstall the 3 screws beginning with the center
screw�
NOTE: To ensure maximum cleaning efficiency, check the brushroll and belt regularly
for wear or damage� The brushroll can normally be cleaned without removing it from the
vacuum� Replace the belt if it is stretched, cracked or if excessive slipping is occurring�

The dust tube is designed to optimize cleaning power� For best
performance, routinely check and clear excess dust and other debris�
Note: Cover floor with newspaper to catch any loose material or dust
removed during cleaning before removing the dust tube�
1� Unplug the vacuum cleaner�
2� Release the outer bag from the tension spring by lifting up on the
spring while releasing the outer bag from the spring (Fig� 1)�
3� Release bag tension spring (Fig� 1)�
4� Remove filter cover screw and then remove filter cover (Fig� 2)�
5� Unplug the connector plug from the base of the vacuum�
6� Press the tube release button located under the rubber collar on the
side of the dust tube (Fig� 3)� Lift off the dust tube while pressing on
the tube release button (Fig� 4)�
7� If needed, use a wire brush to clean the inside of the dust tube and
the top section of the nozzle where they connect�
8� Insert the dust tube into the nozzle until it snaps into place� Make sure
the release button on the tube lines up with the release button on the
rubber collar�
9� Insert the connector plug into the base of the vacuum� Replace the
filter cover and re-attach the outer bag to the tension spring�

1� Unplug the vacuum cleaner�
2� Place the vacuum cleaner in the low position�
(See “How To Adjust The Handle” on page 7)
3� Remove the headlight cover by prying it off with a flathead screwdriver�
4� Remove the old bulb and press a new bulb into place until it clicks�
• Keep machine and all accessories clean and in good operating condition.
• Change vacuum bags when they are 2/3 full to maintain optimum cleaning efficiency.
• Change filter when dirt is visible or every six months if someone in your home suffers from allergies. Otherwise, once a
year should do for replacing the filter�
• Always use genuine bags, filters and parts, as use of other products may result in poor cleaning or filtration performance.

• Damage to the vacuum which occurs from neglect, abuse, alterations, accident, misuse or improper
maintenance.
• Normal replacement items: vacuum bags, lters, belts and headlight bulbs.
What Fuller Brush Vacuum Cleaners Will Do:
The warranty provides, at no cost to you, all labor and parts to place this vacuum in the correct operating
condition during the warranted period.

If warranty service is not available at the retailer where original purchase was made, a full list of Fuller Brush

will be required before service is rendered.
