Operator’s Guide
The purpose of this Operator’s Guide is to provide the basic operating procedures for this
equipment. For more detailed information see the Operator’s Manual.
Control Description Control Description
POWER Turn power on or off. IOC Choose IOC (Index of Coopera-
tion).
VOLUME Adjust volume of receive signal. RCD Start and stop recording.
SYNC Fine tune the phasing signal. C • Clear data in setting mode.
• Switch from setting mode to
standby mode.
PRG • Enable a setting mode (in com-
bination with numeric key).
• Return to previous screen in a
setting mode.
E Confirm setting.
FRQ • Change from channel mode to
frequency mode.
• Set frequency in frequency
mode.
2 Raise channel in channel mode,
or raise frequency in frequency
mode.
DIM Adjust backlight of LCD, in four
levels.
4 Manual phasing (leftward) in
recording. Each press shifts the
recording leftward by 2.5% of the
paper width.
CH • Change from frequency mode
to channel mode.
• Set channel in channel mode.
5 Display date and time.
SPD Choose recording speed. 6 Manual phasing (rightward) in
recording. Each press shifts the
recording rightward by 2.5% of
the paper width.
REV • Reverse recording format
(from black on white to white
on black and vice versa).
• Enter decimal point in fre-
quency.
8 Lower channel in channel mode,
or lower frequency in frequency
mode.

Automatic Receiving
1. Press the CH key to show the channel
display.
2. Press the Sor Tkey to choose channel
desired.
Manual Receiving
1. Press the CH key to show the channel
display.
2. Press the Sor Tkey to choose channel
desired.
3. Press the RCD key to start receiving.
Stopping Receiving
Press the RCD key.
Timer Reception
Registering timer programs
1. Press the PRG key and the 2key.
2. Press the 4key.
3. Use the Sor Tkey to choose timer pro-
gram number.
4. Enter a channel number and then press
the Ekey to confirm number.
5. Set the day of the week which to receive
the program, using the Sor Tkey.
Choose the asterisk (*) to get a broad-
cast daily.
6. Press the Ekey.
7. Enter start and end time, in 24-hour
notation, using the numeric keys.
8. Press the Ekey. (The start and end
times should be two minutes before and
after actual time respectively to allow for
detection of the start and stop signals.)
Choosing timer programs for timer
reception
1. Press the PRG key and the 2key.
2. Press the 2key.
3. Use the Sor Tkey to choose timer pro-
gram number and press the Xkey.
4. To choose another program, repeat step
3.
5. After choosing all programs necessary,
press the Ekey.
