The device is intended exclusively for sharpening saw chains. Before commissioning, the device must be firmly
mounted on a workbench or a similar surface. Only use the saw-chain sharpener if you can sufficiently estimate
all functions and carry them out without restriction or if you have received appropriate instructions taking into
account the technical data and safety instructions.
This device may only be used for its intended purpose as specified. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible
for damage resulting from failure to observe the regulations, the generally applicable rules, and the provisions of
this manual.
Please note that our device has not been designed for commercial use.
2. Safety warnings and instructions for electric chain sharpeners
ATTENTION: When using this device, all safety instructions should be followed to reduce
the risk of personal injury or damage to the device.
Read the complete manual before using the device!
1. Keep your work area clean. Dirty working areas can cause injuries.
2. Pay attention to the surroundings of your work area. Do not use machines or power tools in a damp or wet
environment. Do not expose the device to rain. The working area must be well lit. Do not use electrical devices
near flammable gas or liquids.
3. Keep children away. Under no circumstances may children be present in the working area. Never allow
children to operate the machines, devices, or extension cables.
4. Keep the devices in a safe place. When not in use, the devices must be stored in a dry place to prevent rust.
Always lock away the devices and keep them out of the reach of children.
5. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to do the work of a great industrial machine with a small tool or
accessory. There are specific applications for which the tool was developed. It will do the job better and safer
when used for the developed task. Do not modify the tool or use it for any work for which it is not intended.
6. Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that may get caught in the moving parts of the
device.

5
Protective and non-electrically conductive clothing and non-slip shoes are recommended for working with this
device. Keep hair, jewelry, or loose clothing away from moving parts. These can capture these.
7. Wear eye and ear protection. Always wear approved impact protection goggles and wear a face shield if you
produce metal or wood shavings when using the machine.
8. Do not reach over the device. Keep a firm stand and balance at all times. Do not reach over or into running
machines.
9. Maintain your device carefully. Keep your tools sharp and clean for better performance. Follow the
instructions for lubrication and changing accessories. Check the tool cables regularly. If they are damaged, have
them repaired only by authorized technicians. At all times, the device must be kept clean, dry, and free of oil or
grease.
10. Avoid unintentional starting. Make sure that the switch is in the off position before plugging in the device.
11. Stay alert. See precisely what you do, use your mind. Do not use tools or devices when you are tired.
12. Check the device for damaged parts. Before using the device, you should carefully inspect any part that

17. Maintenance. For your safety, service and maintenance should be carried out by an authorized technician.
18. Never use the electric chain saw sharpener near flammable material.

6
Note: The performance of this tool (when powered by mains voltage) may vary depending on fluctuations
in the local mains voltage. The use of extension cables can also affect the performance of the tool.
Attention: The warnings, notes, and instructions referred to in this manual do not cover all possible
conditions and situations that may occur. The operator of the device must understand that human
behavior and other hazards are factors that cannot be influenced by the product and manufacturer, but
which the operator of the device must take into account.
3. Additional safety warnings
Grinding wheel warnings
1. Do not use a grinding wheel that is cracked, broken, or worn. You can check the disc for non-visible cracks by
hanging the disc from the central hole and tapping it with a non-metallic object. (e.g., with a screwdriver handle)
When in good condition, you will hear a metallic sound. A muffled sound indicates a crack or break.
2. Use only original grinding wheels from FUXTEC with a hub diameter of 22.2mm (7/8"). Do not try to change or
modify the mounting hole of the grinding wheel of another size to make it fit.
3. Do not overtighten the nut (#3). Only tighten it by hand. Overtightening may cause the wheel to break.
4. Never use the chain sharpener without the grinding wheel cover (#2) in the correct position.
5. Always check the grinding wheel (#5) by running it for one minute without contact with the chain.
6. Keep away from the rotating disc and ensure that no person is standing too close to it or in the direction of disc
rotation.
7. If the grinding wheel vibrates, switch off the device immediately and check that it is firmly mounted and
undamaged.
8. Never try to stop the grinding wheel by hand, even if you are wearing protective gloves. The grinding wheel
would cut through your gloves and seriously injure your hand.
9. Never use the device without the grinding wheel fitted.
10. The permitted speed and the number of rotations of replacement grinding wheels must correspond precisely
to the specified rate of the device.
Warning!! This device has been developed to sharpen chains of chain saws. Do not attempt to sharpen
other tools or any other objects with it.
Unboxing:
When unpacking the device, make sure that all parts listed on page 9 are present.

4. Look at Figures 5 and 6. Loosen the screw (#40) to turn the housing. Turn the housing to the desired degree of
rotation. Chains exist in different sizes and with different angles for sharpening. Consult the chain manufacturer's
instructions to determine which angle you need to sharpen the chain. When you have adjusted the angle, tighten
the screw (#40).
5. Lower the motor housing (#10+23) so that the grinding wheel (#7) brushes the chain teeth.
Sharpening.
6. Hold the position while tightening the screw
(#40) so that the disc only lowers at this point. See
fig. 7.
7. Depending on the amount of material to be
removed, tighten or loosen the screw (#51) and
tighten the nut. See fig.5. Screw #51 has a nut lock
with which you can adjust how much material is
removed. When you have set the nut, tighten the
screw (#51) completely.
9. If the chain has already been sharpened
several times, limit the chain depth and the
chain links must be filed down with a flat file
(not supplied).
See Figs. 8 & 9. file each link down so that
they are lower than the cutting tooth.
8. Attach the chain to the fixing plate (#48) by
tightening the screw (#49) as shown in Fig. 8.
The screw (49) should be positioned so that it
can be easily loosened or tightened.
You will need to loosen and tighten it each time
you move to the next link in the chain.

saw again.
3. Slowly lower the grinding wheel as described in
Fig. 10. If you find any errors in your settings, turn
the device off and unplug it before correcting your
settings.
Note: Uniform sharpness is achieved by a
continuous and smooth contact between the grinding
wheel and the teeth. Do not stop too long at each
tooth.
4. After you have sharpened a tooth, turn the
machine off. Open the motor housing (#10+23),
loosen the screw (#52) and move the chain until the
next link of the chain is positioned at the chain stop
(#48) and tighten the screw (#52) again. Turn the
machine on again and sharpen the next tooth.
Repeat this procedure until all possible teeth at this
angle have been sharpened.
5. After sharpening all teeth of the chain, turn the
machine off by pressing the red button (#25) and pull the
plug.
6. Loosen the ratchet wheel and set the angle so that the
first tooth that has not yet been sharpened is positioned
against the screw and locked as explained on page 6. As
shown in Fig. 11.
7. Following the first half of the chain, make sure that the
motor housing is lowered (#10+23) and the grinding
wheel (#7) touches the chain teeth. Follow all steps on
page 6 to double check everything before plugging in and
starting the machine again.
