replaced after 5 years.
CAUTION:
It is best to use clean / filtered compressed air to fill all
Bead Bazooka® / Bead Booster® inflation tools.
Unfiltered or unclean compressed air may cause poor
performance and shorten the life of the product.

DO NOT PLACE THE BARREL FIRMLY AGAINST THE RIM,
but instead it should be held 2-3” away from the wheel flange when firing for better overall lift.

Set-up of your new Bead Bazooka (Gaither’s BB6L / Gaither’s BB9L) unit
BeforeusingtheBead Bazooka™ youmustinstallthefollowing:
1)Theaircouplernippleisnotincluded.Installanaircouplernipplethatfitsyourparticularsystemintothesmall
intakevalve(a)picturedabove.
2)Theslotteddoublebarrel(b)mustbeinstalledintothelargereleaseopeningshownintheabovediagram.
Installandsecurelocknutsothattheslotteddoublebarrelissecurelytightened.
Using the Bead Bazooka™ with the tire/wheel assembly in a horizontal position:
1.Adjusttheslotteddoublebarrelsothatthebarrelflangeisontop(oppositesideofthehandlestockandtrigger
release)andparalleltotheground.
2.Placethetire(anysizeuptomediumcommercialtrucktire)sothattheshortsideofthewheelisonthebottom
andthelongsideofthewheelisonthetop.(seediagram#2below)Thevalvestemshouldbepointedupward
tothesky.AtthispointtheGaithertirestand(GB‐51)orblockofwoodshouldbeholdingthetireandwheeloff
thegroundandthebottombeadshouldalreadybeseatedproperly.(Note:toensureproperandperfectbead
seat,tireandwheelshouldalwaysbeadequatelylubricated)
3.Attachanairlinetoyouraircouplernippleandopentheintakevalvetofilltheairtanktothedesiredworking
pressure.(seeproperstorageandunitchargingrecommendation–nextpage)Normal working pressure is
from 20 to 150 psi / 1.5 to 10 bar – Gaither’s BB6L; Normal working pressure is from 20 to 150 psi /
1.5 to 10 bar – Gaither’s BB9L. Theamountofpressurethatisneededinthetankdependsonthetiresize
andconditionofthetire.The Bead Bazooka™ can help set the beads to wheels on motorcycle,
passenger, ATV, industrial, truck, and some small agricultural tires.
4.Usingtwohands;oneonthehandlestockwithtriggerprotectorandtheotheronthehandlewhichisontopof
thetank,directtheslotteddoublebarrelflangetothewheelexactlyoppositethevalvestem.(Inmostcases
thisisthebestpositionbutinsomecaseswithsmallertiresitisbettertopositionthebarrelclosetothevalve
stem)OnceyouareinpositiontofiretheBeadBazooka™youmaywanttobringthebarrelawayfromthe
wheelapproximately1”to2”sothatthebarreldoesnotcontactthebeadasitquicklyrisesfromtheforceofair
flow.MakesurethereisnovalvecoreinthevalvestemandusinganairlineortheGaitherWhipHose(GB‐52)
applyasteadyflowofairintothevalvestemwhilesimultaneouslyfiringtheBeadBazooka™.Forextremecases:
aGaitherTireWedge(GB‐53)orwedgesmaybeusedunderthetiretohelpcloseextremelylargegapsbetween
tireandwheel.(SeeDiagram#2)
5.PositiontheBeadBazooka™sothattheslotted
doublebarrelopeningispointingdirectlyintothe
largestgapbetweenthetireandwheel.Normally
a50‐70degreeangleisthebest.
6.SecuretightlytheBeadBazooka™withboth
handsonbothhandlesandplaceyourindexfinger
ontothetrigger.Pullgentlytoreleasetheair
insideofthetank.Holdsteadytheunitandalways
keeptheairflowdirectedintothegapbetween
thetireandwheel.Note:Ifthisdoesnotproperly
setthebeadtothewheel,repeattheprocedure
atahigherpressure.Youcanalsotrytousethe
BeadBazooka™inanuprightposition.
CAUTION: AFTER THE BEAD HAS BEEN SET TO THE WHEEL, STOP THE AIR FLOW TO THE
VALVE STEM, PLACE A VALVE CORE IN THE STEM, AND MOVE THE TIRE / WHEEL ASSEMBLY
TO A TIRE INFLATION CAGE AND THEN CONTINUE INFLATING TO THE MANUFACTURER’S
RECOMMENDED OPERATING PRESSURE.
Using the Bead Bazooka™ with the tire/wheel assembly in a vertical position: (recommended for
truck tires only)
1)Adjustslotteddoublebarrelsothatthebarrelflangeisonthebottomsamesideasthehandlestockwith
triggerrelease(oppositesideofthepressuregauge)andparalleltotheground.Makesurethebarrelis
fastenedtightlywiththelocknut.
2)Placetire/wheelassemblyagainstawallorsolidpropsothebottom(orbackbead)isalreadysettothewheel.
(seediagram#3)Makesurethevalvestemispointingoutandthelongsideofthewheelisclosesttoyou.The
GaitherTireWedge(GB‐53)canbeusedasaproptohelpsetthebeadproperly.
3)Attachanairlinetoyouraircouplernippleandopentheintakevalvetofilltheairtanktothedesiredworking
pressure.(seeproperstorageandunitchargingrecommendation–nextpage)Normal working pressure in
the vertical position is from 20 to 150 psi / 1.5 to 10 bar– Gaither’s BB6L; Normal working
pressure is from 20 to 150 psi / 1.5 to 10 bar – Gaither’s BB9L.Theamountofpressurethatisneeded
inthetankdependsonthetiresizeandconditionofthetire.
4)Usingtwohands;oneonthehandlestockwithtriggerreleaseandtheotheronthehandlewhichisontopof
thetank,directtheslotteddoublebarrelflangetothewheelexactlyoppositethevalvestem.Onceyouarein
positiontofiretheBeadBazooka™youmaywanttobringthebarrelawayfromthewheelapproximately1”to
2”sothatthebarreldoesnotcontactthebead
asitquicklyrisesfromtheforceofairflow.
Makesurethatthereisnovalvecoreinthe
valvestemandusinganairlineortheGaither
WhipHose(GB‐52)applyasteadyflowofair
intothevalvestemwhilesimultaneouslyfiring
theBeadBazooka™.
5)PositiontheBeadBazooka™sothattheslotted
doublebarrelopeningispointingdirectlyinto
thelargestgapbetweenthetireandwheel.
Normallya50‐70degreeangleisthebest.
6)SecuretightlytheBeadBazooka™withboth
handsonbothhandlesandplaceyourindex
fingerontothetrigger.Pullgentlytoreleasethe
airinsideofthetank.Holdsteadytheunitand
alwayskeeptheairflowdirectedintothegap
betweenthetireandwheel.Note:Ifthisdoes
notproperlysetthebeadtothewheel,repeat
theprocedureatahigherpressure.
