MOVFR Operator Hand Swap Procedure
This document should be used as a guide to convert a side slide operator to its opposite hand. The following will show
the steps necessary to complete this task. It should take approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours to complete. Take note of the
entire operator assembly and location of components to avoid reassembly problems.

1. Remove the operator motor drive belt from the motor. Remove nuts, washers and rubber spacers on motor
mount tensioner.
2. Separate connecting link assembly from the operator crank arm. Note: During reassembly in the opposite
hand, you must separate the 2 halves of the connecting link, and reassemble with the slotted link facing
outward.
3. Remove 2 bolts on the door drive arm support assembly to separate door drive arm.

4. Remove the operator controls enclosure cover.
5. Remove speed limit cams by sliding them off the bearing shaft. Note: During reassembly in opposite hand,
reference the appendix section of this document.
6. Remove 4 screws holding the operator controls enclosure to the base.

7. Disconnect motor wires and gate switch wires. Remove electrical conduits on both sides of box. Note: During
reassembly in the opposite hand, wiring and conduits are to be attached on opposite sides of box. Also reverse
any two motor wires to obtain proper rotation of motor.
8. Remove 4 bolts holding motor to motor mounting base. Then remove 2 bolts securing the mounting base.
9. Remove 4 bolts holding drive arm support assembly to the base.Note: During reassembly in the opposite
hand, you must remove the 3 bolts on the support assembly and shift to top half of the support over to the next
set of holes. (if applicable)

10. Remove 2 bolts on the drive chain tension angle, and remove from the intermediate pulley assembly. Then
remove 4 bolts securing intermediate pulley assembly to the base.
11. Slide operator controls enclosure out of the way. Remove 2 bolts securing the stop plate for drive pulley limit.
Then remove 4 bolts securing the drive pulley assembly to the base.

12. Unscrew stud for the motor mount tensioner.

13. Removal of components is now complete. Now you must flip the operator base over to begin reassembly in the
opposite hand.
14. Reinstall drive pulley and stop plate for drive pulley limit in the opposite hand. You will now need to move the
limit stop rollers on the opposite side of the pulley. Take notice of the markings on the casting. All stop rollers
located “LH” will now be mounted to “RH”, and vice versa depending on the swap.

15. Next, you must mount the crank arm to the opposite side of the drive pulley. Remove 2 screws securing the
crank arm on the back side of the drive pulley casting. Reverse the crank arm and insert screws back in place.
17. Reinstall stud for motor mount tensioner. (Ref. Step 13). Then follow reassembly in reverse order from steps
12-2.

Rotational Cam Setting
