SAFETY INFORMATION
1. Read and follow all safety, installation, and operation instructions.
2. Use a stud finder to mount the myLIFTERunit to a sturdy ceiling joist.
3. Do not operate the myLIFTERsystem while hands or other body parts are near the system.
4. Do not use the myLIFTERunit to lift people or animals.
5. Do not stand under the myLIFTERunit or items lifted by myLIFTER.
6. Do not use the myLIFTERsystem to lift or lower items over people or animals.
7. To lift more than 50 pounds, you must install the included pulley system.

property damage, serious personal injury, or death.
WARNING
2

If your myLIFTERcable is tangled, damaged, or
bent, STOPusing your myLIFTERunit IMMEDIATELY.
WARNING
3

myLIFTERcables must be configured vertically. Angled cables can
limit lifting capacity and cause excessive sideways strain on the
myLIFTERunit and mounting bracket, resulting in possible property
damage, serious personal injury, or death.
WARNING
4

To reduce the risk of electric shock or injury, use indoors only.

ABOUT MYLIFTER
The myLIFTERsystem is designed for home and garage use; it is not to be used in commercial or
industrial applications.
The myLIFTERunit is designed to lift 50 pounds straight upward or 100 pounds with the
included pulley system. If you load the myLIFTERunit with more than 50 pounds without the
pulley system or more than 100 pounds with the pulley system, the unit?s weight sensors will
prevent myLIFTERfrom lifting the load. The myLIFTERunit also uses an internal brake system
that locks the spool automatically when the cable is not moving or if the unit loses power.

INSTALLATION
1 Mounting the Bracket and myLIFTERUnit to the Ceiling
1. Use a stud finder to locate the center of the ceiling joist
to which you want to mount your myLIFTER(Figure 1.1).
Failure to mount the mounting bracket and myLIFTERunit
to a secure ceiling joist or rafter may result in property
damage, serious personal injury, or death.
WARNING Figure1.1
If installingon a Smart Track, refer to theSmart Track manual.
11

2. Consider which way you want your lifted item
and myLIFTERunit to face, and mount the
bracket accordingly. Refer to Figures 1.2a and
1.2b for correct mounting configurations.
3. Place the mounting bracket (B) on the joist. Be
sure to align the mounting holes with the center
of the joist. With a pencil, mark an Xon the
ceiling where you want the two holes to mount
your myLIFTERunit (Figure 1.3).

Figure1.4
4. With a drill and supplied drill bit (C), align the
bit on your marks and drill at least a 3" deep
pilot hole into the joist (Figure 1.4). The pilot
hole should drill through the sheetrock and into
the wood ceiling joist.
Inserting lag screws into a ceiling joist without first
drilling pilot holes may split the wood and result in
property damage, serious personal injury, or death.
WARNING
5. Slide the mounting washers (E) over the lag screws
(D). Line up the mounting bracket (B) with the drilled
holes, and insert the lag screws into the pilot holes
finger tight to correctly align them with the pilot holes.
Figure1.3
13

Figure1.6
6. Tighten the screws with a ½" wrench until the
bracket is snug against the ceiling (Figure 1.5).
DO NOTuse an impact driver to insert lag screws into the
ceiling joist. The impact will overtighten the
screws? causing them to fail? and may result in property
damage, serious personal injury, or death.
WARNING
7. As you turn the wrench, you should feel
resistance. If the lag screw turns freely, your
pilot hole is not in the ceiling joist and must be
repositioned on a secure portion of the joist.
8. Align the myLIFTERunit with the mounting
bracket, and insert the two quick-release pins
(F) through the myLIFTERunit and mounting
bracket (Figure 1.6).

2 Installing the Power Adapter
Refer to the Power Adapter user manual for instructions on installing the Power Adapter.
15

3 Installing a Pulley System for Lifting 100 Pounds
1. When using the hook, extend the cable and
run it under the pulley. With the carabiner (H),
anchor it to the eyelet screw (G) or the track
about 3 inches away from the lifter.
2. If using the eyelet screw, use the stud finder
to locate the center of the stud. Follow the same
procedure as the lag screw, pre-drill a hole.
To lift more than 50 pounds, you must
install the eye screw and pulley system.
NOTE
16

3. Insert the eyelet screw (G) into the ceiling
joist, using a screwdriver to tighten (Figure 3.1).
4. If your ceiling has drywall, thread the eyelet
screw in until you cannot see the threads, then
turn it in 3 more complete revolutions.
5. If your ceiling does not have drywall, thread
the eyelet screw in until you cannot see threads.
Failure to insert the eyelet screw (G) into a secure ceiling
joist or rafter may result in property damage, serious
personal injury, or death.
WARNING
Figure3.1
17

If your unit is mounted perpendicular to the joist, the eye
screw must be placed on the same side as the opening in
the cable guide (the side where the cable hangs when it
is fully coiled) (Figure 3.2b). This prevents the fully raised
cable from contacting the myLIFTERunit and causing
cable damage.
CAUTION
Figure3.2b
Figure3.2a
If your unit is mounted parallel to the joist, the eye screw
must be placed on the same side as the unit's input power
plug (Figure 3.2a). This prevents the fully raised cable from
contacting the myLIFTERunit and causing cable damage.
CAUTION
