Limited Lifetime Warranty
Garage Smart offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all products. If a defect in the hard-
ware, or any component thereof, occurs Garage Smart will repair or replace the sys-
tem, or the defective component. There is no cost to you beyond the cost of shipping
the defective item to us. If your Garage Smart Product is defective, we will send
replacement parts or, at our option, replace it at no charge to you after the defective
product is returned to Garage Smart. If we send replacement parts for your Garage
Smart Product, we may use new or reconditioned parts. If we choose to replace your
Garage Smart Product, we may replace it with a new or reconditioned one of the same
or similar design.
Who Makes This Warranty?

Who Is Covered?
This warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product. This warranty is
intended for natural persons only and does not extend to any corporation, limited liab-
ility company, or commercial entity.
What Is Covered?
Any defect in material and workmanship from personal, normal household use in
accordance with the Owner’s Manual.
Warranty Does Not Cover: This warranty does not cover installation commercial use,
defects resulting from accidents, damage while in transit to our service location or dam-
age resulting from altercations misuses or abuse, lack of proper maintenance, unau-
thorized repair or modifications of the product, affixing of any attachment not provided
with the product, staples through wiring, pinched or broken wires, broken cables
power outages, use of extension cords, missing or damaged parts or discounted clear-
ance, final sale or taped cartons, fire, flood, acts of God, or failure to follow the
Owner’s Manual. This warranty is the only one we will give on your Garage Smart
Product. There are no other express warranties.
Where and How to Obtain Warranty Service
You can obtain warranty service from Garage Smart at the address indicated below. It
is your responsibility to deliver or ship the defective product to us at your date of pur-
chase and a description of the claimed defect, prior to the expiration of the warranty
period. To obtain information regarding this warranty, you may contact us by mail,

Exceptions and Exclusions
This warranty does not include damage or defects resulting from misuse, accident, fail-
ure to maintain, or any other causes following your purchased of the product. Use of
the Lifter system with any other system or components (including affixing non Garage
Smart attachments or accessories) voids this warranty. Failure to follow the owner’s
manual in installation or use of the Lifter system voids the warranty. Unauthorized
repair or modification voids the warranty.
The Lifter system is intended for personal, indoor, home use. Garage Smart does not
warrant its lift system for commercial use, and any such use voids the warranty.
TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU
OF AND EXCLUDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES NOT EXPRESSLY SET FORTH
HEREIN, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY AND FINESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. Limitation of Liability: THE SOLE REMEDIES AFFORDED UNDER
THIS WARRANTYARE REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, OR, IF REPAIR OR
REPLACEMENT IS NOT COMMERCIALLY PRACTICABLE OR CANNOT BE
TIMELY MADE, A REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL
THE LIABILITY OF GARAGE SMART RELATED TO ANY PRODUCT EXCEED
THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT. YOUR USE OF GARAGE SMART
PRODUCTS IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. GARAGE SMART SHALL NOT BE LIABLE
UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL,
OR INCIDENTAL 42 DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE
USE OF ANY GARAGE SMART PRODUCT. (SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW
THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO

About Garage Smart Hard Top Lifter
The Garage Smart Hard Top Lifter is designed for home and garage use. It is not to be
used in commercial or industrial applications. The Hard Top Lifter uses Bluetooth®
technology combined with the MyLifter app to lift vehicle hard tops off your vehicle to
be stored on the garage ceiling.
SAFETY INFORMATION
lRead and follow all safety, installation, and operation instructions.
lDo not lift the Hard Top Lifter while hands or other body parts are near the system.
lDo not stand under the Hard Top Lifter.
lDo not use the Hard Top Lifter to lift people or animals.
lDo not use the Hard Top Lifter to lift or lower items over people or animals.
lTotal lifting capacity for Hard Top Lifter is 175 lbs.
lAlways balance load before lifting.
If your MyLifter cable is tangled, damaged, or bent, stop using your MyLifter unit imme-
diately.

Installation Overview
Installing the Hard Top Lifter kit is easy and involves the following basic steps:
1. Assemble the Hard Top Lifter frame.
2. Install the Smart Track System.
3. Install the MyLifter Units.
4. Attach the MyLifter Cables to the Hard Top Lifter Frame.
5. Lift Your Hard Top.
What you need
Installation requires the following tools:
lA ladder
lStud finder
lTape measure
lPencil
lA drill
l13 mm wrench or socket wrench
Identify parts
Inspect the box and make sure that you have all the parts shown in the image below:

Part I: Assemble the Hard Top Lifter
Frame
Assemble the Hard Top Lifter frame on the garage floor in the area where you want to
lift your vehicle's hard top. To begin, put together the two identical Length Adjuster
Assemblies using parts A and B.
1. Insert the Narrow Length Adjuster (A) into the Wide Length Adjuster (B) with the
rectangular slot at opposite ends.
lFor a 4-door JL hard top, extend the length of the assembly so that 7 holes of
part A are exposed from part B.
lFor a 2-door hard top, extend the length of the assembly so that 13 holes of part
A are exposed from part B.
lFor a 4-door JK hard top, extend the length of the assembly so that 5 holes of
part A are exposed from part B.

lFor a 2-door JK hard top, extend the length of the assembly so that 14 holes of
part A are exposed from part B.
NOTICE
Other hard top models will need custom installation.
2. Insert two Short Quick Release Pins (G) into the first and last overlapping holes.
Where part A extends out of part B will become the rear of the lifting frame.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to put together the second Length Adjuster Assembly.
4. Insert the Wide Width Adjusters (C) through the rectangular slots at the front and
rear of each Length Adjuster Assembly with the open end facing up.
5. Align each hole in part C with the center of each Length Adjuster Assembly.

6. On the rear of the assembly, slide part D into part C.
7. For the JL or JK model hard top, align the 1st hole of part D with the hole in part
C.

NOTICE
Other hard top models will need custom installation.
8. Place the quarter inch quick release pin through the aligned holes.
9. Repeat steps 6 to 8 on the opposite end of the rear of the assembly to complete
the Rear Support Adjuster.
10. On the front of the assembly, slide part E into part C.
11. For the JL or JK model, align the first hole of part E with the hole in part C.
NOTICE
Other hard top models will need custom installation.
12. Place the quarter inch quick release pin through the aligned holes.
13. Repeat steps 10 to 12 on the opposite side of the front of the assembly to com-
plete the Front Support Adjuster.

14. Slide the foam blocks over the Front Support Adjuster and the Rear Support
Adjuster and position them against part C.

15. Slide the two remaining foam blocks just past the hooked edges of the Front Sup-
port Adjuster.
16. Install the Pulley Frames to complete the Hard Top Frame Assembly.
NOTICE
The Pulley Frame placement will vary based on your hard top length and what you place
in the cargo net.
lFor a 4-Door JL hard top, the back of your Pulley Frame should be positioned 15
holes from the Rear Support Adjuster.
lFor a 2-Door JL hard top, the back of your Pulley Frame should be positioned 8
holes from the Rear Support Adjuster.

lFor a 4-Door JK hard top, the back of your Pulley Frame should be positioned
12 holes from the Rear Support Adjuster.
lFor a 2-Door JK hard top, the back of your Pulley Frame should be positioned 8
holes from the Rear Support Adjuster.
NOTICE
Other hard top models will need custom installation.
17. After placing your Pulley Frames in the correct position for your hard top, secure
them with four 10 mm quick release pins on the first and last overlapping holes.
The Hard Top Lifting Frame should now be completely assembled.

Part II: Install the Smart Track Sys-
tem
1. Place the fully assembled Hard Top Lifter Frame on the garage floor below the
area where you want to store it on the ceiling.
2. Measure the distance from the back and side walls to the rear of the Pulley
Frame that is closest to the back and side walls.
We recommend that the distance to the back wall be at least five feet so you can
open your tailgate for hard top removal.
We recommend that the distance to the nearest side wall be at least four feet so
you can open your doors.
3. Make the same measurements on the ceiling and mark where the back of the
Pulley Frame closest to the back and side walls will be when the frame is lifted.

4. With your garage door raised, measure from this mark to the top of your garage
door.
We recommend that this measurement from the mark to the garage door be at
least five feet so the top of your garage door and the hard top don't bump into
each other when raised.
5. From your mark on the ceiling, make three more marks that create a perfect 15
inch square.
6. Measure from each point to the nearest walls to make sure your square will sit
straight.

This square should mirror the distance from each pulley on the Pulley Frames,
and will be used as your guide when you install the Smart Tracks.
7. Determine which way you need to orient your Smart Tracks. There are two dif-
ferent ways to orient your Smart Tracks.
a. If your ceiling studs run parallel to the garage door, the Smart Track pieces
will need to be installed perpendicular to the garage door, with a MyLifter
on each track.

Each Smart Track should cross two studs.
b. If your ceiling studs run perpendicular to the garage door, your Smart Track
pieces should be installed parallel to the garage door, with your two
MyLifters on the same track.
8. Use a stud finder to find the two studs that are nearest to your marks on the ceil-
ing.
Depending on your stud orientation, one stud may sit between your marks with
the other on the outside of your marks.
Or, the studs will sit just outside of both sets of marks.
