Parts Identifier

6
Installation Overview
With the Multi-Bike Lifter, you can lift one, two, or up to three bicycles with one MyLifter.
The MyLifter can lift a total of 100 pounds. The Multi-Bike Assembly component (see Parts
Identifier) weighs eight pounds. This means that the total weight of the bicycles you want
to lift cannot exceed 92 pounds.
Installing the MyLifter unit
To install the MyLifter unit, you will need the following components from the kit:
The MyLifter unit
The Smart Track
The mounting bracket
The power adapter and cord
Two lag screws and washers
Two wood screws
Two quick release pins
The 6 mm drill bit
Cable management clips
You will need the following tools:
Pencil
Stud finder
Ladder
Drill
½ inch socket or box wrench
Measuring tape
Phillips screwdriver

7
Install the Smart Track
Depending on which direction your joists run in your garage and the orientation of the
items you want to lift, you can install the Smart Track across two joists or along a single
joist.
DANGER
DO NOT install Garage Smart products in any other manner than specified in
the instructions. To avoid risk of electric shock and other potential injury, DO
NOT open the product casing. This product is for indoor use only. Failure to
follow these safety instructions could result in property damage, serious
personal injury, or death.
1. Use a stud finder to find a ceiling joist above the bicycles you placed on the floor.
2. Use a stud finder to find and mark the center of the joist:
a. Mark one edge of the joist.
b. Mark the other edge of the joist.
c. Draw an X to mark the center of the joist.
This is called the stud center method, which ensures that the Smart Track and all
other hardware will be installed in the strongest part of the joist.

8
3. Use a pencil to mark the center of the joist.
4. Using the included drill bit, drill a pilot hole at least three inches into the center mark
you made.
5. Hold the Smart Track in place over the pilot hole and screw in one of the included
lag screws and washers. Do not screw it in all the way so you can still move the
other end of the track.
6. Use a stud finder and pencil to find and mark the center of the joist where the other
end of the Smart Track will be attached.
7. Using the Smart Track as a guide, select the hole over the mark you made and drill a
pilot hole at least three inches into the center of the joist.
8. Screw in the other lag screw and washer. Make sure you tighten both lag screws so
the SmartTrack is flush against the ceiling.
DANGER
If the lag screws are not screwed into the center of the ceiling joist, the bikes
could fall and cause property damage, serious personal injury, or death.

9
Install the MyLifter unit
1. Align the holes on the MyLifter bracket with the holes on the Smart Track, leaving
four open holes to the right of the side where the cable comes off the lifter.
2. Insert the included spring pins. Make sure to press the spring pins all the way
through the holes in the MyLifter bracket and the holes on the Smart Track.
3. On the same side of the track where the cable comes off the MyLifter, and on the
side where the DC cable is connected to the MyLifter, hook the carabiner into the
third hole from the lifter.
4. Plug in one end of the DC Power Cable into the Garage Smart Power Adapter.
5. Install the power adapter anywhere on the Smart Track. The universal mount
attached to the bottom of the power adapter lets you easily slide and snap it into
place on the track.
6. Plug the other end of the DC Power Cable into the MyLifter unit.
7. Plug the power adapter into the nearest outlet.

10
8. Secure and organize the cables.
a. Peel off the adhesive backing from a cable management clip and stick it
where you want.
b. Secure the cable management clip with a screw, place all wires into the clip,
and securely close the clip.
c. You can also organize cables by winding the excess cable around the power
adapter housing. Excess cable can also be stowed in the Smart Track.
d. Use the track covers to support and organize the cables stowed in the Smart
Track.

11
Pair the MyLifter unit with the MyLifter app
1. Download the MyLifter app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Open the app and tap Add Devices in the bottom right corner.
3. In the Unpaired Devices section, tap your lifter.
4. On the MyLifter unit, press the Pair button. The indicator light should change to a
faster blinking yellow. When the indicator light blinks green, the unit is paired with
your app.
5. In the app, your MyLifter unit should
now appear in the Newly Paired
Devices section
6. Tap the back arrow in the upper left
hand corner to go to the main
screen.
7. To change the name of the lifter, tap
Edit.
a. (Android users) Tap the pencil
icon, type a new name, and tap
Submit.
b. (iOS users) Tap the lifter you
want to rename, type the new
name, and select Save.

12
Attach the MyLifter cable to the Multi-Bike Lifter frame
1. In the MyLifter app, tap the name of your MyLifter unit to go to the Device Control
screen.
The Device Control screen looks similar to the image shown below:
2. Press the Manual Lower button to lower the cable.
3. Run the cable under both pulleys on the frame and hook the cable to the carabiner
on the Smart Track.

13
4. Place your bicycles under the Multi-Bike Lifter with the middle bike facing the
opposite direction from the two outside bikes.
DANGER
The total weight of the bikes and the Multi-Bike Lifter cannot exceed 100
pounds. Attempting to lift more than 100 pounds may cause property damage,
serious personal injury, or death.
5. Using the six D-Ring lifting straps, secure your bicycles to the lifter frame by looping
the straps through the spokes of the wheels and back to an adjacent hook on the
lifter frame.
6. Tighten the straps to make each bike level with the ground.
7. Turn the crank handle on the Multi-Bike Lifter frame to make each bike level with
the others. Use the level on the balancing frame to find the balance point.
8. When you think the lifter frame is balanced, use the MyLifter app to lift the bike a
few inches off the floor.
9. If the load is not balanced and the lifter frame is not level, turn the crank handle until
everything is level.
10. When the bikes are level and the load is balanced, place an arrow sticker on the
pulley slider and another one on the lifter frame.

14
Placing the stickers ensures that you can quickly find the balance point every time
simply by lining up the stickers.
NOTICE
If you plan to use only one or two of the bikes at a time, you can use the
remaining stickers to indicate the balancing points for each scenario.
If one bike is used more often than the others, you may want to place it
in the center. This may allow the lifter to stay balanced when the center
bike is removed without needing to reposition the frame.
Bikes of varying sizes should be positioned the same each time or the
sticker placement will not indicate the correct balance points.
11. Use the Device Control screen on the MyLifter app to lift the bikes until the wheels
are barely touching the floor.
12. In the MyLifter app, tap the Set Low button to set the smart low point.
13. Tap the Manual Lift Up button to lift the bikes to the ceiling, making sure to leave
six inches of ceiling clearance.
CAUTION
When you use the Manual Lift Up button, make sure you do not run the pulley frame
into the MyLifter. Running the pulley frame into the lifter could cause damage to the
lifter, damage personal property, or cause personal injury.
14. Tap the Set High button to set your smart high point.
Now you can easily lift or lower your bikes with the simple tap of a button.
