EWS-102 CONTROL UNIT SYSTEM SETUP

Select the first menu item.
The system setup menu allows you toset and adjust various
system parameters.
Navigation
Use the button to step through the menu items.
Press to view the value of a menu item.
Editing Values
When a value is displayed, use to select the digit to edit
(selected digit flashes) and use to step through the values
for that digit.
Press to save a change. The system will revert to the
operational display after approx. 10 seconds. Alternatively,
return to the operational display bypressing twice.
CAP indicates the elevator maximum capacity. To view the current value press .
AL 1 is the load value to trigger Alarm Relay 1. To view the current value press .
AL 2 is the load value to trigger Alarm Relay 2. To view the current value press .
AL 3 is similar to Alarms 1 & 2 but allows negative values tobeentered. When editing the most
significant digit, instead of rolling over from 9 to 0 it included the minus sign option.
This defines the value by which the load in the lift has to drop to reset the instrument, once the
alarm has been triggered.
The next item is an auto zero function used to compensate for longer term zero drift.Itdefines
how long the elevator must be at restbefore the zero point is redefined.
To begin the system
setup, press the and
buttons together.
Enter the system setup menu.
Press to toggle to ‘OFF’ if you wish to disable the function,
and press to jump to ‘FIL’
This is the current value (example is 1 hour) thatdefines the
time that the elevator must be empty for (in hours up toa
maximum of 10 hours). Press if you wish to change the
value, and then press to save it and move to the allowed
deviation setting.
This defines the deviation allowed for the longer term deviation function (maximum value
+/-99kg). Press to view the current value. Press again to edit the value.
The filter value determines the update rate and damping factor. The available settings are:
0 = 0.4sec, 1 = 0.8sec, 2 = 1.2sec, 3 = 1.6sec.
An internal sounder beeps when an overload alarm is triggered or when the keypad is pressed. To
change the setting, press and use to toggle between ON and OFF.
Save the change bypressing .

To begin the zero
calibraon, press the
and buons together.
Press the button to enter the zero calibraon menu.
Press the buon
The instrumenhen counts down from 10 to 1 to allow me for the operator to ensure
thahe elevator cabin is empty.
The “Zero” point has now been calibrated and stored.
CAL indicates thahe calibraon is complete (remains for 10 seconds).
Press within 10 seconds to proceed to the Load Calibraon.

To begin the load
calibraon, press the
and buons together.
Press the buon to enter the load calibraon menu.
Load Calibraon
After placing the known load within the elevator cabin, press the buon to proceed.
When the dashes are displayed, sehe value ohe required load in kilograms. Use the
buon to seleche required digit (selected digilashes) and use the buon to sehe
required digit value.
For example: Usingaknown load of 75Kg
x7 x5
To complete the acon, press the buon.
The instrumenhen counts down from 10 to 1.
Upon compleons, the screen will display CAL for approximately 10 seconds and then the
system will return to Operaon Mode. The load has now been calibrated.

This is shown on the Loop model only.The Standard model exits test mode ahis point.
This is used to fine tune the current loop output, which is proporonal to the elevator
load including any attached chain.The factory seings are sufficiently accurate for most
applicaons but may be necessary to fine tune them by connecngapower supply and
mulmeter in series with the 4-20mA output terminals and adjusng the 4mA (empty) and
20mA output (capacity) values.Isn’t necessary to monitor the sensor for this operaon.
The values shown on the EWS 102 display during fine tuning are for guidance only.
Aer1second,thedisplay willshow ‘4’ representingthe4mAoutput.At thispoint,
the meter shouldmeasure 4mA exactly.If necessary, pressto enable finetuning
or press to move to the20mA setng.To adjust the4mAoutput,usetheand
buons to editthedisplayed 3-digit value.Onceadjusted, save it by pressing.
The meter should now measure 20mA exactly.If necessary, press to enable fine
tuning or press to exit test mode.To adjust the20mAoutput,usetheand
buons to editthedisplayed 4-digit value.Onceadjusted, save it by pressing.
To begin the test and loop calibraon procedure, press the
buon (unit beeps), hold ior aboutasecond and then release it
(unit beeps again).

NOTE: If you wish to fine tune the 4-20mA
output, you need to haveasuitable
mulmeter at hand.
